Although this is mainly a sales tool, it could be used by people of all roles. I also use Vidyard for creating tutorials as I work for a software company. Their chrome extension works beautifully as well and you can throw a video in with a few different options in a couple of seconds. **What do you dislike about Vidyard?** I can't think of too many downsides of Vidyard, to be honest. I don't recall seeing an edit feature but that's not super necessary. Something that could be cool would be if you made a mistake you can stitch together multiple separate Vidyards! They make pushing videos to YouTube a breeze and even automatically update video descriptions/thumbnails on YouTube when they are updated on the Vidyard platform. **What do you dislike about Vidyard?** It is quite an expensive platform -- definitely worth the price tag if you have a video strategy in mind (for each team that will be using it). Otherwise, it would be difficult to prove ROI. So, if you have a strategy and ideas on how to utilize video already, go for it! Vidyard adds a bunch of spice and fun to my workflow...and I am not photogenic! Right now I am still using the free version, but my company is in the process of getting the full upgraded version. It usually takes 15-30 seconds per video which does not seem like much, but when you do the math over the course of a day, that can turn into 15 minutes of waiting. I've used it for sales prospecting, making intro videos, demo videos, marketing videos, etc. There is a Chrome extension that makes it easy to start recording right from your browser. You can even start the recording from within an email & attach it instantly as soon as it's done. So I start an email to my customer, hit the Vidyard plug-in, record my video, it gets inserted into the email itself & I hit send. All of my videos get stored in my library & they are easy to share with others. **What do you dislike about Vidyard?** They don't have an option to use a virtual background. Since most people are working remotely these days (in whatever space they can come up with), this has become much more relevant - and necessary. Initially, I used it primarily to answer questions (show rather than tell) after a call or demo. The feature I like the most is the GIF thumbnail - I find that this helps a lot with the open rate. The email recipient can see that the video is personalized before they open it. You can experiment with the gif thumbnail to optimize for open rate. Another plus is the open and view stats of the videos, this is where you can see which thumbnails do the best. I find that this is a very fast way to get an email very personalized. **What do you dislike about Vidyard?** Nothing, it's a really helpful tool. I would recommend this. Without the paid plan, the functionality is limited. That's why I would recommend getting the paid plan. If there was a way to queue uploads so I don't have to wait for uploads to be completed before I can do me new video, that would help. But this issue is very easy to overcome if you just get a better internet connection. **Recommendations to others considering Vidyard:** I would recommend going with the paid plan. It's so fast to make personalized videos that I can send personalized emails with videos to all my leads. For example, if someone watched a video 1x in full but watched a specific segment 5x, that is good intelligence. For some reason, I can not get that info anymore. I can easily create and distribute the video content necessary without any headache. It is simple and straightforward. It's a better way to discuss and explain issues and communicate when email is not enough but a phone call is not entirely necessary. A lot of the editing tools are simple and I find that oftentimes I make mistakes when recording. It has been super flexible and fast for sharing videos within our organization as well. Imagine being able to upload a three-hour-long video to the platform and then instantly share it with anyone else in your oganization. Secondly, the sync with youtube and the generated captions are a game-changer. All I have to do is a small little edit and the captions are super accurate. **What do you dislike about Vidyard?** The platform needs a ton more custom actions. The ones available do work indeed but seem more bootstrapped than anything. Don't get me wrong, there are several amazing templates to make these happen, but just make sure you know some light CSS and HTML! I also think there could be more discoverability in terms of how to use the platform as a sales tool. I'm on the content side of things and am in a little bit of need of guidance on how to equip and scale our sales reps using the product. **Recommendations to others considering Vidyard:** Be prepared to have a super high powered product on your hands. You may find that focusing on a smaller amount of videos first will really shed light on the ROI of the product, because starting with a huge amount of videos can be intimidating. We see real-time demo bookings and ROI through the app. We have also solved the problem of being a content-first organization and instantly sharing the amazing stuff we have created with everyone else in our organization. Our account rep tried his best to accommodate us but then left the company. **What do you dislike about Vidyard?** I've been using Vidyard for 2.5 years and it has a lot of promising flashy features, but lacks the basic fundamentals you'd anticipate with a video platform. Specifically, the reporting capabilities are lackluster. They provided consultative advice to support getting reporting configured and then didn't deliver in terms of product capabilities - we can't even access the data we've tagged. They rolled out a new UI with no warning and disrupted our entire video-publishing process. Tickets go unresolved for months. Our SDR team used the personalized video feature and it was not a successful pilot. In 2015 I switched to Vidyard. Vidyard is easy to use, fast, and extremely reliable. The subtitles/translation functionality is robust, fast, and the translation costs are minimal. The Video Hub function allows me to have all my videos in one place on our site and still have videos embedded on the appropriate pages. When you look at all the factors, Vidyard is best in class. **What do you dislike about Vidyard?** After being a customer for several years the only thing that I don't like is minimal. When you log in you have the option to display 6, 12, 18, 24 or 48 videos on one page. You have to set that view every time. I would like to set it once and then forget it and be able to change it when I need to. Maybe it is habit but when I log in, I like to review everything that we have going on with the videos and players. We are talking about 2 keystrokes here. So after a being a customer for six years and not liking two keystrokes is microscopic. **Recommendations to others considering Vidyard:** I haven't looked at another solution because Vidyard meets my needs as well as can be expected. There isn't anything that someone else can do better, faster, etc. So why would I look? I am very very satisfied with the service and the team that stands behind it. Vidyard rocks. **What problems is Vidyard solving and how is that benefiting you?** First, I no longer send my web guests to YouTube and lose them. I embed my videos on our web pages and so I am not sending my guests away from my site. Second, I can place events in the video so people can respond directly within the video rather than adding additional steps. That is HUGE. The subtitle function helps with ADA requirements, translations, and more. The problems solved? First I am not chasing web guests off of our site. Second we are making it easier to do business with us. Third we are expanding our reach with translations. ### 43.
