"Great program, quality and ease of use"
5/5
What do you like best about VidGrid?

I like that VidGrid is easy to work with, as a student I have to record reports and other presentations. These often require videos, powerpoints and other media and VidGrid makes it easy. The recordings are great quality and they are helpful if you run into problems as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VidGrid?

I do not have anything to add here as I have not had any problems or concerns with this product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy way to make and store videos for my courses"
5/5
What do you like best about VidGrid?

VidGrid is a great way for me to make and store videos for me to use in my courses, especially ones that I teach online. It's important to be able to connect to students in online courses, and VidGrid works seamlessly with Blackboard, which is the learning platform my college uses. I can easily make videos available to students using VidGrid. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VidGrid?

I have no complaints about VidGrid. It's a terrific place to make and store videos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple and solid"
4.5/5
What do you like best about VidGrid?

VidGrid has been easy to adopt, which was key in our generally technology averse user base. The added features have been generally well received, and don't distract from the simplicity of using it as it has developed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VidGrid?

Changes can come quickly, and updates are rolled out quickly - sometimes without prior warning. Occasionally features have disappeared temporarily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Implement and Use, Excellent Support"
5/5
What do you like best about VidGrid?

Responsive customer support

Clean interface

LTI integration

Machine captioning or ability to upload own or request captioning

We have used other tools to accomplish sharing video across campus and within courses and this tool has been the best. The interface is easy to learn for even less techie users and the end-user experience is seamless. Customer support is responsive and quick. There have been several feature ideas that we have suggested that are implemented almost immediately. They truly listen to customer needs and use that to inform their roadmap. What do you dislike about VidGrid?

Nothing significant. Perhaps my two big wishes right now would be if the "allow intranet users to access without logging in" on the video permission settings could be set at the admin account level as default (like many of the other permissions are). We embed almost everything within our LMS so that would save me a click on new video uploads. Second, to allow a creator or admin select more than one video at a time to embed within the LMS via the LTI tool. I often create multiple videos at once that all need to be uploaded to the same course page so that would save me time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy and Awesome"
5/5
What do you like best about VidGrid?

I love how easy it is to capture detail on video and share with my clients and colleagues. Being able to embed video content into our knowledge base allows us to present a professional image to our clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VidGrid?

I edit my videos with another program if I plan to publish them online so that I can tweak audio, add still frames and overlay music in the background, then upload them to vidgrid so I can embed them into our knowledge base. A few more editing tools would be great, but might not be worth complicating your product over. I also found your background music was just too loud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, lightweight, easy-to-use tool"
5/5
What do you like best about VidGrid?

Very easy to use to create interactive videos! Can easily create tutorials for the university with VidGrid. Also really like the educational features that other video tools don't have, such as the in-video questions. I also like that VidGrid offers a couple of editing tools (trim and blur) that you can use to fix any errors without having to take the video to a different program. VidGrid also has an excellent support team that you can chat with almost immediately! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VidGrid?

It's hard to find something I dislike about VidGrid because I have never had too many problems with the platform. If I had to find one, I would say not being able to make edits to the sound of the video. If there is a lot of background noise in a video then you have to take it into another program to edit that out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VidGrid is a powerful video platform for educational media uses."
4.5/5
What do you like best about VidGrid?

I really appreciate the ease of use processing captioning for videos. It sounds like a simple thing, but caption services can be very costly and tedious. For me, having to use a third party for captioning extends the media development process significantly. I also appreciate the full control over file replacement, thumbnailing, etc, while still maintaining share / embed links. Lastly, since we are an educational entity, the use of in-video quizzes as an excellent addition to the feature set. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VidGrid?

There are a few things that don't interrupt in the main functionality, but would be ideal. For example, it took a while for the sorting capability of directories to be alphabetical, but can we make the preference stick as a default? Also, I and my organization would appreciate more thorough analytics on the video besides view count type data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-Peasy Video Creation!"
5/5
What do you like best about VidGrid?

VidGrid makes it simple to create quick videos for the students and faculty I work with. These videos are changing the dynamics of how we teach at my school. If I ever have any questions, the folks at VidGrid consistently respond quickly to offer solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VidGrid?

There's only one thing that isn't great, and from what I hear, it's under development. The student side of VidGrid needs to be a little more robust. What I mean here is that we have some instructors that want students to submit videos in their Blackboard courses. It can be done, currently, through the instructor sharing a guest link. But the process isn't that straight-forward on the student end. Students are recording videos on their cell phones, most likely, and currently, there's not a VidGrid app. That's what we need to simplify the video submission process for students. I know the VidGrid folks know this is an issue, and they're working on it. I'll be excited to see this roll out! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A great platform for engaging videos"
4.5/5
What do you like best about VidGrid?

It's simple to use and does what it does good. There are other tools out there with more bells and whistles, but that comes at a price in terms of usability. With VidGrid it's simple and does what you need it to. My current favorite feature is the Guest Recorder. It's so simple to send a link to anyone in the world which allows them to record or upload directly into your VidGrid folder. Perfect for class projects or guest lectures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VidGrid?

The LMS integration with Canvas is good, but still a little flakey with authentication between the systems. I wish there was a tighter system-level Canvas integration rather than just within courses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Outstanding Customer Centered Company!"
5/5
What do you like best about VidGrid?

The best thing about VidGrid is the support available to our team! VidGrid offers reliable services, meets our team's needs, and the staff goes above and beyond to assist us when we have questions, concerns, or ideas for improvement. VidGrid offers everything we need in one place: reliable video hosting, captions, quiz integrations, and content contributor management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VidGrid?

One downside of using VidGrid is the inability to share new content with your team in one folder that is not the Org Library. However, I was told that this was by design for safety reasons and the team is actively looking for ways to improve the user experience. So in reality, there really are no downsides because the VidGrid staff is always ready to problem solve and do so with a great attitude and spectacular customer service!
