It supports all types of audio and video codecs and also compressed video and audio files. There are many features in VideoLan that include video cropping, slow motion, playing video at your desired speed, cropping video, rotating video and many more. It can also resume the video from the place you left before if u turn it off. The player also has many themes to suit your needs and it can also play web videos just by entering a URL. The player is open source and free, while being feature-packed to the brim. I am yet to come across a video format that is unplayable on VideoLan VLC Player. Since the launch of Windows 11 with Fluent UI, I have started disliking the dated UI of VideoLan VLC Player. It looks as if the user interface is still utilizing Windows 98 elements. VLC has long been the best media player available for Windows, which is the platform I use. With its minimalistic and clean UI and its high performance, it doesn't require a powerful machine to run. And best of all, it can natively play a huge number of media formats, whether video or audio. One of the best features this free software offers is the ability to stream files that are on the local network as SMB shares. The best thing I like about VLC is that it has a user-friendly environment which helps every user to use it also it doesn't require too much space to download it. VLC is an effective and simple media player which I like the most and also it is free of viruses by which everyone can use it freely. I get frustrated by all of the proprietary and other video playback mechanisms (Quicktime, Windows Media Player, DVD Player, etc.), let alone the sometimes clunky playback within a lot of the video editors. So, when I have an external disc with video or an mp4, or even audio (disc, mp3) and, even, streaming that I want to open, VLC is my first, one-stop go-to.
