"An easy to use tool to help with screen video recording with editing options"
5/5
What do you like best about Video Recording in Wistia (formerly Soapbox)?

I liked how it was easy to get it up and running. I often need to record my screen while doing demos of my team's changes/new features, and this allows me to easily do a screen recording. It's also handy to be used to record the replication steps of bugs encountered.

I also use it on a personal level and not just work in order to work on personal demos on my side projects, and it's handy to use! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Video Recording in Wistia (formerly Soapbox)?

Free version limits, I find, are small, and you have to get around it by deleting old footage but all in all, it's not too bad.

Editing: I find it's been on the slow side the last few times I've used it. I have a good internet connection, so not sure if their servers are just overloaded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Video Recording in Wistia (formerly Soapbox)?

• Expensive paid plans. Wistia's paid plans may be costly for some users, especially those on a budget. Plans range from $99 to $499/month.

• Steep learning curve. Wistia has a lot of advanced features which can take time to learn and master. The platform may overwhelm casual users or those unfamiliar with video marketing tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing tool for quick personal videos and much more"
5/5
What do you like best about Video Recording in Wistia (formerly Soapbox)?

The tool is so easy to use and the functionality is truly awesome. The editing features are super intuitive and then sharing videos is even easier. It's so nice to have one place to host these videos. The tool is super reliable and allows the user to make MANY videos really quickly and then share them just as efficiently. The paid version allows you to download the MP4 if you want to upload natively to things like LinkedIn or other social media platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Video Recording in Wistia (formerly Soapbox)?

Sometimes after recording i've had connection issues where the video failed to upload, but this is super rare and I think it's more my wifi connectivity than the tool's fault. Other than that there's very little to dislike. I think the analytics could be a little better as the charting function is a little clunky, but i'm being really picky if I'd say I dislike it. just an area for improvement i guess. It is free and easy to use. The trimming functionality is great Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Video Recording in Wistia (formerly Soapbox)?

I wish you could record without seeing your face, at least on the free account I can't. You can however remove your face and just show the screen when you're editing after. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that it's a user accessible platform, and it's browser friendly - I can use it within chrome as an extension. I like that I can share my screen and split it so you can see me talking and what I'm showing or teaching. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It's the best that I can find"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Video Recording in Wistia (formerly Soapbox)?

Soapbox is pretty simple to use and navigate. You don't have to avoid the "select a plan" screen like others in order to record and set up your videos. Some of my colleagues use other ones because they work better on their computers, but I think Soapbox has the least issues of the ones I've tried (Hippo and Loom are the others) on my computer. Other tools show you your face when you are making a screencast and recording your face, but I like that Soapbox doesn't because that takes up space I want on my screen for my presentations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Video Recording in Wistia (formerly Soapbox)?

Every screen recording tool I've used has glitches. Some of my colleagues use other ones because they work better on their computers, I think Soapbox has the least issues of the ones I've tried (Hippo and Loom are the others) on my computer. Every once in a while you will make a recording and the file gets corrupted when Soapbox is putting it together (this happens on every tool I've tried), and sometimes the audio and video get out of sync, or the audio cuts out. You need to review the video before sending a screencast to someone because it could have really bad audio, even if it seems fine when you watch it. If you just watch the video in the editing screen it gives you, it will seem fine, so what you need to do is copy the link to share it and open it up that way. Then it will give you the real experience. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get a video to record where the video and audio are clean. Sometimes I give up because it's not worth the time anymore. But for my computer, I'm pretty sure Soapbox works better than the other ones I've used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
