It's easy to use and the integration process is incredibly simple. It supports a wide range of documents, and I can even add and edit my own custom documents. **What do you dislike about Veryfi?** I didn't see any bad impression but they can improve multi-language support in the admin panel for those who live in a different country like me. **What problems is Veryfi solving and how is that benefiting you?** It can transcribe my documents very quickly and almost perfectly with OCR. ### 2. And works well. First off, we use it for small business and personal receipt scanning and expense tracking. It scans receipts quickly and accurately. It let's you easily customize categories and classify expenses. It also handle EFT's, Checks, debit and credit cards. One of the most important features is time-to-scan. That is, the amount of time from when I'm handed a receipt in a store to when I'm done scanning and categorizing it and put my phone in my pocket. This is one of the most important aspects of any receipt scanning app (yet most fail badly here). For Verify, time-to-scan is usually under 30 seconds. (Other apps take minutes sometimes). Probably the best part is that Veryfi has a very capable web-based interface. The app is great for scanning receipts and categorizing a transaction. But for a business owner, spending time poking around on a phone app to manage hundreds of transactions (as other aps require) is ridiculous. This is whre Veryfi really shines. You can bulk categorize items, match them with bank transactions (it connects to your bank) and export CSV's from the web platform. You can also set up rules to automaticially classify transactions based on data read from the receipt. Veryfy is a powerful app for someone serious about tracking business or personal expenses in an efficient way. It's not a cute toy app with silly icons (thankfully). It's a serious productivity tool with lots of capability. If you've been through other apps (I went through 4 of them before ending up with Veryfi), then you'll appreciate this apps capabilities. It is FAR beyond any other receipt scanner or expense management app. If you have real expenses to manage (for personal or business) Verify is the way to go. Plus, they have great customer support if you have questions. **What do you dislike about Veryfi?** Very few complaints. Overall, a great app as is. A couple of features that would be nice: 1. Being able to see what account number a newly scanned receipt was associated with without needing to open the item. This feature would cut time-to-scan from 30 secs. to 15-20 secs. 2. Quicker way to switch between two "users" in order to separate personal and business expenses more easily. But these are minor.. Basically, if you need a receipt scanner and expense tracker, this is the way to go. **What problems is Veryfi solving and how is that benefiting you?** I don't need to save paper receipts and have a bookkeeper enter them by hand. ### 3. You get most of the data points that you need in a structured format. Retailer extracting is pretty good too. We have used many other vendors too Like AWS and Google Vision but Veryfi stands out because of the number of data points they give from unstructured documents. Many of the other services fail when they try to pick a new retailer. Product identification is good too service can give you a product name based on SKU which is very helpful for retailers like Walmart or Target. Last but not least you can use their GUI to see all these changes which is very good if you want to just review one receipt. Otherwise, you will have to extract data from the database and then see it in some tool. It's a very comprehensive product that has considered many things while building this service. Duplicate receipt verification, deletion of dup receipts, and adding missing vendor name so that in future receipts it will be picked correctly. **What do you dislike about Veryfi?** Sometimes Veryfi services go down, this is a very critical bottleneck if you need a response in real-time. AWS and GV stand out because of the reliability they offer. You just can not have any downtown at all. Sometimes their product extraction fails too it does not give the correct result each time. Cost-wise too it's a bit expensive, yes it does give a lot of data but compared to other services it's expensive so people who are looking for a cost-effective solution might not use this product because of budget constraints. **What problems is Veryfi solving and how is that benefiting you?** We mostly used it to extract data out of receipts so that we can award points based on their purchase history. Veryfi service takes all of your headaches when it comes to extracting data out of the receipts. We did use other services earlier but product extraction, total extraction, and vendor identification were all done manually because we did not get the correct result from the service. Integrating it with Netsuite was a breeze. Every time we ask for help, they respond quickly and even develop new stuff if needed. Teaching the system is also easy and we see the results in bills we OCR after. **What do you dislike about Veryfi?** If it was faster we could read more stuff from the files, but Netsuite limits the time it waits for a response in any request to 45 seconds. Because of this, we use the lightest settings when we request an OCR. **Recommendations to others considering Veryfi:** We looked at another couple of vendors for this kind of product and even though we chose Veryfi mostly because of pricing, we're happy with our choice. We've acquired new companies so absorbing the extra workload would've been impossible without automating this part of the process. We have a good working relationship with them and get solid support from actual techs. The system lets us train continually in order to improve performance. We use that feature to help us budget food purchases at grocery stores. Not all of the line items in a Walmart purchase will be food, so we can't just go by the total price of the receipt. This app allows you to weed out non-food items very quickly! You can categorize down to the line-item. You can set budgets, invite your accountant to view the deducible tax receipts, you can assign/connect other apps/programs like Quickbooks, for example. They call that integrations. You can create reports, set up projects, assign team members to view data, even connect your bank reporting to this app. It is worth every cent, and the features are constantly growing! Someone needs to write a book about this app, it's fantastic! **What do you dislike about Veryfi?** The only thing that I dislike thus far is my confusion between tags and categories, but it has not stopped me from using the app at all. I likely need to read more about those features. **What problems is Veryfi solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use the OCR of receipt line-items feature to help us budget food purchases at grocery stores. Prior we'd have to do that manually. We can now assign categories with line items, and the AI is smart enough to pick up on it and then we run reports. Best mobile app to ingest or collet receipts by far. The OCR is by far better than the competitors. **What do you dislike about Veryfi?** The web interface could do with a little more polish. It is good, but the lack of contrast between lines in lists and distribution of whitespace is not quite right. The headers for list views take up far too much space. It is the content (my lists of receipts) that is the most important thing. The pop-up menus and filters at the top of the screen are used less and could be reduced further. The scans of receipts turn to high contrast black and white, which is good for Veryfi's OCR engine, but is horrible to use in Xero and the web app. I think the original should also be kept. Also, I'd much prefer PDF than jpeg. The PDF could also contain the OCR'd text as well as the (original) scanned image, which would allow for easy searching on my computer. The export files that go to dropbox, I would like to also contain the invoice number in the filename. **Recommendations to others considering Veryfi:** Its the right price, saves a lot of manual typing compared to other products. Some of them see it as an intrusion into their privacy and whereabouts. **Recommendations to others considering Veryfi:** I would highly recommend that you start with the free trial period and see if you like it. I would also make sure that every employee has a compatible phone before you choose to implement the software, and if they do not then make sure that you have computers that your employees can access when they need to clock in and clock out. **What problems is Veryfi solving and how is that benefiting you?** One issue is when an employee's phone does not have a signal or the issue of them consistantly forgetting to login and punch their time card. Going back to fix the issue can be tedious when you have minial staff. ### 28. There's also a great quote feature built into the application that includes project management and time tracking. Generating an invoice from an existing project or budget only requires a click of a button (how amazing this is!) and manual invoices can also be added. My favorite feature are recurring invoices that are sent automatically and even allow me to set up payment reminders for those that have not been marked as paid. **What do you dislike about Veryfi?** It would be nice to have a system that detects duplicate transactions, plus the transaction management is automated with your linked bank account. But, entering transactions manually is complicated. By changing a transaction that is attached to a paid invoice, the invoice was reduced even if the invoice was marked as paid. I hope they will continue to improve the application. **What problems is Veryfi solving and how is that benefiting you?** It saves me many hours every month and a lot of paper (everything is securely backed up in the cloud), the application and its development/support team definitely add value to my life. On the other hand it helps us prepare for the tax season all year round, instead of doing everything right before the deadline. In addition, invoicing is integrated into the software, so there are no more cross references to pdf invoices with bank statements of payment amounts. Additionally it has all the functions needed to manage the company from the invoicing of the products generated by our company to the projects, it is incredible so it is of vital importance in the development of our business as well as in the financial process of the company. ### 30. We want to integrate to our job costing but have not done that yet only because of resource constraints but had we waited to get it 100% we would not have realized the big benefit straight out the box of not chasing paper. **What problems is Veryfi solving and how is that benefiting you?** The field staff could never keep track of the receipts, trying to make the entries to our financial system is so much simpler as we can read the receipt and know what was purchased for what job even if the employee does not complete the data fields. It saves me a lot of time especially when i am on the road. The scanning or recipts is right most of the time and its great how it links into my accounting package and bank feeds. It also "guesses" what the accounting classification should be. I travel overseas a lot so the multi currency ability of verify is also fantastic. Saves me trying to work out what the conversion rates should have been. Its also very useful when I get emailed receipts (which is happening more and more) as I can forward then directly to verify for auto entry into the system. Finally having somewhere to be able to store and search for all my old receipts is very handy when clients accounting departments ask to see the documents. i haven't had the need for support much (which is a testament to the product) but when I did they were very prompt in responding and solving my issues. Great work guys! **What do you dislike about Veryfi?** Which the OCR and allocation of expenses to my expenses ledgers is good it could still be better.I am sure thats something the verify team are working on. Also when I sign up (which was quite a while ago) It took me some time to work out how to use the product, but when I did I was away. I believe they now offer 1 to 1 training online which is great, but I think they should also add some more "how to" video's to help new users get up to speed quicker. **Recommendations to others considering Veryfi:** Researched a quite few products before adopting Veryfi. The amount of time we used to devote to coding expenses has dropped to a fraction of what it used to be saving on book keepers fees. Also there were always receipts that I lost along the way which meant lost reimbursement from clients. All Data collection is done by AI, so no human eyes or hands ever touch your receipts. They integrate well with other apps like Lyft so your receipt is automatically added. You can have your accountant join in so you no longer need to carry stacks of paper to their office at tax time. **What do you dislike about Veryfi?** The UI is a bit clunky and cluttered. The autodetect for receipts sometimes doesn't detect the receipt. Uploading restaurant receipts does't read the TIP line so you have to manually add the tip, which then sometimes changes they subtotal. **Recommendations to others considering Veryfi:** This is a new company and new product. I have seen them implement some great changes over the past 6 months.
