## About Very Good FFmpeg
Very Good FFmpeg is a cloud API for video and audio transcoding, format conversion, compression, and media processing. Submit a command, get output back, and pay only for what you process. No subscriptions, no monthly minimums, no worker fleets to manage. Pricing is usage-based: $0.50/GB up to 10 GB, dropping to $0.10/GB up to 100 GB, and $0.08/GB beyond that. The first 2 GB are free. If you don't process anything in a month, you pay nothing. Jobs run on dedicated 16 vCPU hardware, with Nvidia GPU instances available on demand. Single jobs can run for up to 6 hours, and multiple operations can be chained in a single request. Every job streams logs in realtime through the dashboard, and if a job fails, built-in AI auto-diagnosis explains what went wrong. The API supports up to 100 requests per second. Official TypeScript and Python SDKs are available, along with an MCP server and integrations for Make.com and n8n. Teams are supported with role-based access control built in.

## Very Good FFmpeg Reviews
 ### 1. FFmpeg Workflows at Scale — Fast, Reliable Jobs with Clear Logs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Very Good FFmpeg?**

Very Good FFmpeg lets us run the same FFmpeg commands we already use, without having to manage our own render workers.

That matters a lot when processing short form video at scale. Jobs need to be reliable, fast, and easy to debug when something fails. The best part is that we can keep our existing FFmpeg workflow, send jobs through the API, and get clear logs back. That saves us from maintaining extra infrastructure just to handle video processing.

Command chaining is also useful. We can run multi step video jobs in one flow, which keeps things simpler on our side. The dashboard is clean enough to see what is happening without digging through messy tooling.

Overall, it feels like a practical product built for teams that already know FFmpeg and just want it to run well in production.

**What do you dislike about Very Good FFmpeg?**

The main downside for us is the lack of a Go SDK, since our backend is written in Go.

The HTTP API is straightforward to call directly, so it hasn’t blocked us. Still, it means we’ve had to build and maintain our own wrapper around it.

**What problems is Very Good FFmpeg solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very Good FFmpeg gives us the flexibility of raw FFmpeg without having to run the infrastructure ourselves.

That is the main difference from other media processing APIs. A lot of video APIs work well until you need something slightly custom. Then you end up fighting their presets, templates, or limited options.

With Very Good FFmpeg, we can keep using normal FFmpeg commands. That means we can adapt quickly when we need different short form video formats, aspect ratios, overlays, thumbnails, crops, filters, or export settings.

The benefit is that our video pipeline is not boxed in by someone else's abstraction. We get the control of FFmpeg with the convenience of an API. That lets us ship new video workflows faster, without rebuilding our render stack each time.
