The main thing I like about Vertex is I don't have to worry about changing the rates on a monthly basis or tracking that. I also don't have to worry about whether something's taxable or not as long as we invoice it correctly and we've put the correct rules in place. Well, right now, we have a situation where there are special rates in California, depending upon what you're doing and where it's at. We're currently working with the Vertex representative to set up the rules properly because we've tried on our own, and it doesn't seem to be taking the special role. If there was some sort of analytics where we could put in, you know, code two or three if it was pre-populated into the monthly updates, that would be helpful, then we can just link it to the customers who qualify for that. I love how Vertex calculates our sales tax for all of my company's ecommerce orders. I appreciate that as jurisdictions change tax rules and rates, everything is automatically updated in our system. The O-series really helps with our ecommerce sales tax calculation, and it's constantly fluid and updating. It's mostly automated, which means we don't even have to think about it. The custom reporting is sometimes hard to make it give me the data I want. It can be a little confusing as there are just so many categories and different ways to 'group' info that I'm not always sure what I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the interface because it is easy to navigate. I like that when tax rate changes occur, we do not have to make any adjustments or try to keep up on them ourselves. I like that I am able to run reports that give me the exact information I need to reconcile. I like that we can test transactions before implementing them into Production. When it comes to reporting, I find that some of the reports in Vertex are confusing and feel more like a data dump than a truly usable report.
