I also don't have to worry about whether something's taxable or not as long as we invoice it correctly and we've put the correct rules in place. It pretty much automates probably 98% of sales tax decisions, which is a great relief. **What do you dislike about Vertex?** Well, right now, we have a situation where there are special rates in California, depending upon what you're doing and where it's at. We're currently working with the Vertex representative to set up the rules properly because we've tried on our own, and it doesn't seem to be taking the special role. If there was some sort of analytics where we could put in, you know, code two or three if it was pre-populated into the monthly updates, that would be helpful, then we can just link it to the customers who qualify for that. The O-series really helps with our ecommerce sales tax calculation, and it's constantly fluid and updating. It's mostly automated, which means we don't even have to think about it. **What do you dislike about Vertex?** The custom reporting is sometimes hard to make it give me the data I want. It can be a little confusing as there are just so many categories and different ways to 'group' info that I'm not always sure what I need. **What problems is Vertex solving and how is that benefiting you?** Vertex calculates sales tax for our ecommerce orders, automatically updating as tax rules change. We work closely with the tax research team and typically our support tickets are inquiring about their content but it takes awhile to get the ticket escalated to the correct person when we already know what is wrong. And by the time we get down to a solution its already been multiple MDU releases. Additionally, the SOCs do not provide any context as to why a change was made so we waste a lot of time trying to identify if content was just a fix or an actual law change. **What problems is Vertex solving and how is that benefiting you?** Vertex allows for us to get more granular and accurate tax rates than our original home grown system allowed. ### 15. O Series ON Demand to VAT Compliance / VITR / Express Returns, etc. The UI on Vertex O tends to change without notice. With Service Releases/updates, functionality that was working is no longer working. The documentation for all products could be more robust. Additional matrices for all Imposition Types and Recoverability is greatly needed. Better documentation on how certain tax types/impositions work with the ERP would be great. We need quicker resolution of tickets.
