I used Pearson's MyMathLab function in my classroom. This allows the student to do homework, study, practice problems online. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Versant by Pearson?

I like the immediate response a student receives. The fact that it can be edited to allow students to attempt multiple times and give helpful hints has allowed students to be able to practice and perfect their skills. I also like that it shows them their progress throughout the course. It allows me to assign them remote work and even post test or quizzes, which will be beneficial in the new semester during the virus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Versant by Pearson?

I do not like how it is finicky with different browsers. It is sometimes impossible for my students to be able to use this program on MAC computers. I believe that they could have a more efficient customer service process when these problems so arrise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Versant by Pearson solving and how is that benefiting you?

This allows for me to be able to go paperless in my classroom. A student will no longer need to turn in papers. They can do all homework online and since it is connected to their book, they no longer need a physical copy of that as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Pearson is more or less an invaluable asset for both students as well as educators. Not only is this platform time efficient and well maintained but also creates an evident opportunity and learning experience for students with its various availability of topic oriented books. Educators also have the opportunity to reevaluate different learning curves as well as participate in assessing and correcting the learning experience for their pupils using the varied guidelines provided here. This platform is definitely convenient and constructive for both learners and educators. Pearson most definitely modernize the learning experience with little to none lacking. What do you like best about Versant by Pearson?

The guidance provided within Versant allowed for a seamless transition from student nurse to registered nurse. It allowed me to gain confidence as the orienting went on week by week, until I felt comfortable practicing on my own. Even before the end of the program I felt that I had been given the proper tools to start my career as a functional and competent RN. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Versant by Pearson?

It was hard to bounce back and forth between classroom hours and clinical hours. I felt like the time in class could have been utilized much better with additional case studies instead of lectures that were somewhat of a repeat of nursing school. The business problem that Versant solves is the transition from formalized education into the workplace. New nurses lack confidence, knowledge base, and actual clinical experience in repeated situations. Those situations build a knowledge base that is necessary to provide adequate patient care. New nurses often times struggle to meet the needs of their patient because of the high demands of the job and their lack of experience. The Versant Program helps to facilitate this experience. What do you like best about Versant by Pearson?

Scores are automatically given and the test is electronic. Relatively easy to implement. The questions are varied and come in multiple formats, which helps target a variety of linguistic features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Versant by Pearson?

There is a huge lack of transparency in what algorithms are being used to calculate proficiency scores. I mean, I'm assuming pitch contours, LTAS, formant structures, etc. are being analyzed in some way but even so there is a ton of within-English talker variability even for native speakers. While I want to avoid "teaching to the test" as much as possible, it would be nice to know, from a language success stand point, what key features improve speech intelligibility (according to Versant) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
