# Best Fraud Detection Software - Page 10

*By [Lauren Worth](https://research.g2.com/insights/author/lauren-worth)*

Fraud detection software, or online fraud detection software, is used to detect illegitimate and high-risk online activities. These tools continuously monitor user behavior and calculate risk figures to identify potentially fraudulent purchases, transactions, or access. Fraud detection tools are used by the IT and compliance departments of businesses and digital banking companies to monitor potential fraudulent actions made by their users. Companies adopt these tools to prevent cyberattacks, fraudulent transactions, and identity theft while protecting sensitive information about the business and its customers.

Utilizing machine learning and real-time behavior analytics, fraud detection tools can perform real-time risk classification based on device and IP reputation and other factors. There is some overlap between fraud detection solutions and [e-commerce fraud protection software](https://www.g2.com/categories/e-commerce-fraud-protection). But those tools are more geared toward enforcing regulations and analyzing purchasing behavior, rather than monitoring, detecting, and alerting incidents of fraud as they happen.

To qualify for inclusion in the Fraud Detection category, a product must:

- Detect illegitimate activities related to payments, purchases, account creation, and chargebacks
- Monitor websites, networks, and applications for fraud
- Prevent digital payment fraud
- Analyze open-source and network data to find anomalies and historical fraudulent behavior
- Provide alerts and analysis tools for administrators
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations
- Discover suspicious online activity and spot patterns of abuse
- Detect and mitigate account takeover and identity theft attacks

OnBoard by MVSI is an end-to-end merchant onboarding and compliance platform designed for regulated payments, fintech, and financial services. It enables organizations to onboard, verify, and manage business customers while applying regulatory, risk, and compliance controls consistently across the onboarding lifecycle, from initial application through ongoing customer due diligence (OCDD). The platform is used by acquirers, payment service providers (PSPs), payment facilitators (PayFacs), fintechs, business lenders, and banks that are responsible for onboarding merchants in complex regulatory environments. It is built for teams managing high onboarding volumes, diverse merchant risk profiles, and operations across multiple jurisdictions, providing a single system of record for onboarding, verification, and compliance activities. Real-time monitoring for sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), and adverse media supports ongoing due diligence, with alerts triggered when risk or compliance status changes. The platform operates across more than 120 countries and supports over 20 languages, making it suitable for organizations with global onboarding requirements. AML on Demand extends OnBoard with expert-led verification services, providing scalable, multilingual AML, KYC, KYB, OCDD, and remediation support across jurisdictions. ### 5. [Outseer FraudAction](https://www.g2.com/products/outseer-fraudaction/reviews)
Outseer FraudAction protects your customers beyond your firewall by combining cybercrime focused cyberintelligence and industry-leading takedown services to find and neutralize phishing, malware, and brand abuse. FraudAction stops attacks on your customers before their credentials are phished, and long before attackers take over accounts and your business books losses. When combined with the full suite of Outseer solutions, like Fraud Manager to protect authentication, and 3DS to protect card-not-present online transactions, you can intercept fraud at many points along the attack chain, reducing losses and protecting customers. Attack the Attack Chain Fraud depends on a series of linked steps. To cash out an account, you need control over the account. To gain control over an account, you need customer login credentials. To get customer login credentials, you need to trick the customer into sharing their credentials. Each step depends on everything “going right“ for the fraudster. If any "link“ in the chain of events is broken, the entire chain fails and the attack fizzles. If we make efforts to disrupt every link in the chain, the odds of successful fraud drop precipitously. In the case of an account takeover (ATO), the earliest point in the chain for us to target is the phishing campaigns targeting customers. That is exactly what FraudAction is built to do. By tracking domain registrations and ownership changes, we can predict which pages will be used for phishing. We monitor those pages carefully – when the domain is inevitably used for phishing, FraudAction is already prepared to start the takedown. Phishing attacks can be disrupted before more customer credentials are breached – and in some cases, disrupted before the phishing campaign is even launched. FraudAction gives you the initiative, forcing fraudsters to react to you. By taking every opportunity to disrupt fraud, and by focusing on stopping as much fraud as possible as early in the attack as possible, FraudAction can lower the cost of responding to fraud. Disrupting phishing before customers get phished means fewer customers lose credentials. That translates to less operational expenses spent reaching out to breached customers who need to reset passwords, lower ATO losses, and a better overall customer experience. Brand Protection and Scam Disruption Phishing login credentials is just one avenue to victimize your customers. Many fraudsters leverage the trust that customers place in your brand to solicit a customer’s personal information or promote scams. Brand abuse frequently spreads on social media, claiming to offer rewards like gift cards in exchange for providing information. Pilfered information can be sold to spammers or used to support fraud schemes that specialize in victimizing your customers. Scams directly steal from your customers, leaving them confused – and angry at your firm. According to research by FINRA and the BBB, 90% of consumers that report brand abuse on social media engaged with brand abusing content1. Customers are not always aware of the difference between authorized branded content and brand abusing content, and they may publicly blame the company for allowing brand abuse on social media. Scams and targeted fraud enabled by brand abuse is very costly when it targets your business. Typical schemes are credit fraud schemes and call center account takeover fraud. Fraud targeting your customers directly can impact your bottom line by proxy. If customers lose money to scams, they have less capacity to do business with your company. The FraudAction Detection network is vigilant to brand abuse, rogue apps, and scams targeting your customers with your brand. With twenty years of experience, and by leveraging over 10,000 relationships with social media firms, ISPs, and registrars, we can assist in takedown for these pernicious threats to your customers. Intelligence-Led FraudAction Cyberintelligence (FACI) complements our takedown services and other Outseer products by maintaining a presence on cybercrime forums and by engaging with criminal actors to track new and emerging threats to your brand and customers. We collect breached credentials and breached information. We hunt for stolen credit card numbers and schemes to harm your customers. You may not be aware of data breaches and stolen data until you see headlines in the news – but FACI aims to give you advanced warning. With more and more firms relying on trusted third-parties to support their businesses, and with supply chain attacks on the rise, being alert to breached data is more important than ever in the fight against fraud. No-Code Implementation Once you engage FraudAction, we enroll your brands into our Detection Network within days. FraudAction can autonomously identify threats to your customers and brand, and initiate takedown of malicious phishing sites and malware distributing sites. There is no code to change to initiate protection. FraudAction does offer more advanced services like abuse mailboxes, referral-tracking pixels, and API data feeds that can offer more integrated solutions to protect your customers.

### 6. [PaySentinel](https://www.g2.com/products/paysentinel/reviews)
PaySentinel is a pre-payment fraud detection tool built for AP clerks, bookkeepers, office managers, and small business owners who need to verify invoices and vendor payments before authorizing a wire or ACH transfer, without enterprise-level setup or cost. Most payment fraud isn't caught by accounting software. It's caught by humans noticing something is off, or not caught at all until the money is gone. PaySentinel gives that human a structured second opinion in under a minute. Paste in a vendor name, invoice details, routing number, or the text of a suspicious email. PaySentinel checks it against known fraud signals, routing number validity, domain age and lookalike patterns, banking detail changes, BEC language, and your own prior payment history, and returns a risk score with specific flagged signals and recommended next steps. PaySentinel covers four check types: vendor verification before onboarding, invoice analysis before approval, email evaluation for suspected BEC or phishing, and transaction checks on routing and account numbers before a wire or ACH goes out. Every check returns a Low, Medium, High, or Critical risk score with the contributing factors listed. The free tier requires no account, no integration, and no IT involvement, 10 checks per month, results in under a minute. The Pro plan adds unlimited checks, persistent history, and vendor memory so future checks on the same vendor are compared against your prior payment records. PaySentinel was built by a fraud analyst with direct experience investigating payment fraud, account takeovers, and business email compromise, not by a product team guessing at what AP clerks need. The detection logic is derived from real fraud investigation workflows and not generic AI summarization.

### 19. [ScamVerify](https://www.g2.com/products/scamverify/reviews)
ScamVerify™ is an AI-powered threat intelligence platform that helps businesses detect fraud across phone, web, text, and email channels. The API aggregates data from the FTC, FCC, telecom carrier databases, robocall detection systems, malware threat feeds, and community reports, then uses AI to synthesize everything into structured risk assessments with a 0 to 100 risk score and a clear verdict. The platform supports four verification channels through a single REST API: phone number lookup, website/URL scanning, text message analysis, and email analysis. Each channel pulls from multiple proprietary and government data sources, cross-references them, and returns a plain-English risk narrative alongside structured data fields like carrier information, domain age, complaint history, and threat classification. ScamVerify™ was built for engineering and fraud teams at fintech companies, insurance providers, contact centers, and any business that needs to screen inbound communications for scam risk in real time. The API returns results in seconds, supports both individual lookups and batch processing, and includes a developer dashboard for managing API keys, monitoring usage, and tracking quota.
