I love that I do not have to bib or send proposals to get a job and earn. I love the security and assurance that I get from Verbit as a freelance transcriber It's a very informative and knowledgeable site for beginners and experienced people alike. **What do you dislike about Verbit?** That there is only one payment method-PayPal that has its downside. No criteria for acquiring a specific kind of account, i.e., hourly, etc. An account takes quite a long time before it's approved. **Recommendations to others considering Verbit:** It's an excellent site for transcribers who are thinking of freelancing, especially during this covid pandemic. **What problems is Verbit solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can offer my transcription services to anyone anywhere around the world. Everyone I reached out to for technical help was supportive and fast, even if it was not their department" which is really nice and helps take the stress away. **What do you dislike about Verbit?** nothing so far, the process is easy and very streamlined. **Recommendations to others considering Verbit:** It is easy to set up and it is easy to set up live captions at the last minute for students that have changed schedules. **What problems is Verbit solving and how is that benefiting you?** The only issues I have had was not understanding how to use some features, but all I had to do was ask and it was explained in great detail. The primary integration we use is with Kaltura, but we also use the integration with YouTube. The majority of our captions are done on a 7-day turnaround, but we occasionally use their quicker turnaround times as well. Verbit is used for videos within our learning management system as well as public facing videos. **What do you like best about Verbit?** Verbit is considerably less expensive than other providers we have worked with and they provide a variety of integrations with different video platforms. Their customer support has been top notch and does a fantastic job replying quickly and solving problems that don't require additional development. They have also generally done a great job at finishing captions files within the requested service level and sometimes earlier. **What do you dislike about Verbit?** For simple workflows and mass captions Verbit is a great solution, but they do not currently provide a good backend system for more complex organizations and workflows. It has been frustrating that there is no product roadmap and little communication around priorities or new product features. The reporting features are also very basic. Their sales people are also very aggressive to the point of annoyance - sometimes even after you are a customer. **Recommendations to others considering Verbit:** Great, low-cost service. **What problems is Verbit solving and how is that benefiting you?** The Verbit pricing has allowed us to caption signficantly more videos that we have been able to do with previous vendors. We keep an eye on other vendors and for large amounts of captions I am fairly confident that this is the best solution out for the quality of captions they provide. ### 13. We are an online college that uses a lot of video in our courses. We are currently working on captioning 10,000 minutes of video, and I have been pleased with the whole process with Verbit. I looked at several different companies in the lengthy research phase of choosing a caption provider, and I also explored the option of doing the captioning ourselves, coupling MacCaption's AI capabilities with a human reviewer. Verbit gave my a great quote for my project. A few thousand minutes have been captioned by Verbit already, and I am pleased with the results. The captioning is not perfect, but it is very good. Verbit's captioning far surpasses anything that I have had done through using only AI. I can easily tell that Verbit has a human transcriber involved in the captioning process. **What do you like best about Verbit?** My whole experience with Verbit has been exceptional--from initial contact all the way through project management. I have interacted with 4 different people throughout the process, and they all have been professional, knowledgeable, personable, and timely. My sales person, Jordan, was not pushy, and he was always helpful in the evaluative process. He always gave me the information that I needed to make an informed decision, but he did not waste my time by giving me meaningless information. **What do you dislike about Verbit?** I have not had any negatives so far. Everything has gone well. **Recommendations to others considering Verbit:** I spent many hours evaluating caption providers. There are a lot of options today, but after months of research, I went with Verbit to caption 10,000 minutes of video. We have many more videos to capture after this initial phase of captioning. Verbit has already captioned a few thousand minutes of videos, and I plan to continue using them as our captioning provider. Some of Verbit's competitors told me that Verbit would give me a great sample in my inquiry stage, but that the quality would dip low once they actually started my project. I have not experienced a dip in quality. **What problems is Verbit solving and how is that benefiting you?** My institutions videos are stored on Vimeo, and the integration with Vimeo works smoothly. Verbit's caption formatting looks better than I expected. I was expecting the utilitarian-looking captions that you often see, but Verbit's captions look great. ### 14. Transfer of folder details from Panopto makes workflow easier. Full integration with Panopto platform makes day to day caption ordering and delivery seamless. **What do you dislike about Verbit?** Workflow in Verbit platform can awkward, although there have been improvements which make the searching of recordings easier. Would like better caption editing facilities. I don't like the requirement to buy credits in advance or that these expire after time. I would like to be billed on usage. I don't like that some recordings can be rejected at the ASR stage when they could be understood by a human. **Recommendations to others considering Verbit:** Ensure that your licence agreement doesn't include caption credits which expire after a set period. **What problems is Verbit solving and how is that benefiting you?** Lack of affordable accurate captions for users who require them at reasonable cost.
