I like the fact that Veeam Data Platform works on multiple devices and platforms without a problem. It allows us to use one single vendor for our backup solutions on both Linux and Windows Server, which was not possible before. We had problems with backing up Linux databases that have constant traffic. It was having problems getting them to actually complete. This is being done on VMware, so there was a question of whether the issue was with VMware or Veeam, but it was still a concern of ours and something we were having to work through. I appreciate the unified protection for all workloads with Veeam Data Platform, meaning no siloed tools are needed. I also like the simplified management with a single dashboard that lets me monitor backup status, set policies, and trigger restores across all workloads. This is especially beneficial for MSPs as it allows managing client environments at scale without the need to switch between consoles. Furthermore, I enjoy the flexibility to back up a physical server and restore it as a VM in the cloud or replicate a cloud VM to an on-prem data center with just a few clicks, which is crucial for disaster recovery and cloud migration projects. I don't like the complexity and opacity of the licensing. Even though VUL simplifies cross-workload licensing, it still lacks transparent usage reporting and granular cost allocation for multi-tenant MSP environments. I find Veeam Data Platform extraordinarily reliable, which is very reassuring. What do you dislike about Veeam Data Platform? The only thing that doesn't work as well for us is that I always have wished that there was an appliance rather than a warning on a Windows host.
