We have offices across many cities in the US and each one had its own print server, with their own instances of drivers, and settings. Keeping each one up to date was a full time job until we went with Vasion. Now, everything can be done from one web interface! No duplicate drivers, and a great GUI for end-users to install their own needed printers. There's even a place for floor maps at each location that allow users to look at the map and click on the printer they want installed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Vasion Automate? The reporting features could be improved a bit, but overall there's very little to dislike. This is a great product! Using Vasion (formerly PrinterLogic) to oversee our entire printer/copier footprint across several geographic locations and simplified my job and freed up my time to focus on other tasks. We use their virtual appliance print server platform and it has made managing and installing printers a breeze. Our organization has implemented the Vasion tool, which has assisted us by automating/streamlining many of our processes. Even as a user, the tool has made it easier for me to collect and upload the necessary documents to send off for approval or review. The tool also allows me to check the status of various items I have sent through for approval. This feature is very convenient as many of our workflows require multiple reviews and approvals from different individuals. This feature also enables me to give an accurate ETA to affected parties on when those reviews and approvals are anticipated to be completed. There aren't many downsides to the Vasion platform. There have been times when the process is overcomplicated unnecessarily, but this is caused by an individual within our organization bringing on that issue when the workflow is configured. Vasion has also assisted with issues such as document management and digital transformation, which were significant challenges for our organization at the time of implementation. We've been on Vasion for roughly a dozen years. It's never failed us in its functionality or features - in fact, I can honestly say that we're not even using 1/10th of its power. Above everything else though is the support - they work with you in figuring out your problem or goal and help you use their product to get it done and done properly. The package simplifies the installation of printers on end-user machines. It removes the need for IT to install new printers and puts the ability in the end-users hands to install the printer drivers for any printer they have been authorized to use. The ability to dump your print servers and leverage a single pane of glass to control the drivers and deploy printers to not only specific sites, but subnet ranges is fantatastic! I would like it to be easier to manage the installed printer drivers. I currently have to sort through the list after migrating to remove. It would handy if there was a way to remove AS YOU upgrade. When the network went down between sites, it could cause problems with distributed print jobs and printing overall.
