**What do you like best about Vanta?**

The connections between SOC controls, tests and policies make it easy to assess progress at-a-glance. The ability for our vCISO and SOC auditor to interact directly with our information via the application makes audits seamless.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

As a small company we don't have many integrated apps so we end up doing a lot of work manually. Sometimes test results generated from Vanta agents have been inaccurate - for example stating workstations aren't encrypted when encryption is controlled by policy.

Vanta helps us more easily track all information needed to maintain SOC 2 compliance

The Access add-on is too basic, and it makes it impossible to manage tool ownership on a team basis.

It eliminates the need to keep everything separately in huge Excel sheets, and it automates compliance as well.

Vanta offers a one stop platform for all compliance needs, and it supports multiple frameworks as well. This makes it very easy to use, with a user-friendly interface.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Toggling between different customers is a hassle right now but it’s nothing major. Also the Vanta agent could be improved.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At Workstreet, I work as an MSP for Vanta, and we’ve helped hundreds of customers get compliant with multiple frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001. It also offers an auditor mode, which makes it easier to keep everything in one place while working toward compliance.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I like how Vanta automates and simplifies the process of proving compliance, making it easy for me by providing a series of tests that I can remediate. It breaks down huge and complicated tasks into an automated checklist of items tied to my MDM, IDP or other applications or infrastructure components. I can trust Vanta to identify issues so that I just go in and resolve them, saving me a ton of time because I don't have to check everything manually myself. Adding integrations in Vanta is also very easy, and I've successfully added more than a few since I started working with it.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

There's the occasional glitch here and there, which is expected for any product, but the support is great. One thing I want to see in Vanta is the ability to change the assigned department for certain tests because some tests are assigned to human resources but are truly more related to IT or Engineering. We can't change the categories because they're built into Vanta. I'd also like the ability to add custom frameworks. This might be more of a niche thing, but we had some collaboration with the finance department preparing for a specialized financial audit (I don't remember the exact name, but I know it's not in Vanta) with information systems components, which isn't available in Vanta as a supported framework like ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2, etc.

Vanta automates compliance, making it simple and easy by breaking down huge tasks into issues I can remediate. It uses an automated checklist tied to systems like MDM and IDP, saving time as I don't need to check each system individually.

dashboard is clear, specific, and easy to tag DRIs in. specifically, the integration with github and dependabot helped me stay on top of those so they were ready for our audit

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Sometimes the dashboard can be confusing, and some of the suggestions were actually inaccurate because they applied to local development. In those cases, they didn’t need to meet the same standards as production-deployed packages or code.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

at our company, vanta got us compliant across soc 2, hipa etc. the support through audit was particularly important because we are a small engineering only team

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

Vanta’s support and responsiveness are outstanding. Every interaction with their team has been professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. As we work through complex compliance requirements, their team consistently provides clear guidance and quick resolutions. It’s rare to work with a vendor that is this responsive and easy to partner with, and it has made a real difference for our team.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

At this point we haven’t encountered any major issues. If anything, some areas of the platform have a lot of functionality, which can take a little time to fully understand when you’re first navigating the system. However, the support team has been extremely responsive and helpful whenever we’ve had questions, which makes the learning curve much easier.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta helped us quickly resolve access and configuration issues within our instance, specifically enabling us to properly add our auditors. Their support team responded quickly, understood exactly what we needed, and helped ensure the setup was done correctly so our compliance and audit work could continue without delays. This kind of responsiveness is extremely valuable when working against audit timelines.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I like the integration with existing tools and services, along with the template policies and the vendor/risk review register. It’s also helpful to be able to see the overall security compliance posture through a more refined UI.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Given the number of security incidents the company has had in the past, I’m concerned. Also, the questionnaire functionality doesn’t seem to work very well and feels unreliable.

Vanta serves as a one-stop GRC platform for us, helping us maintain all related evidence in one place while also reducing the amount of manual work required.

I like that Vanta helps us achieve SOC 2 compliance and manage audits with less procurement hassle by providing a guide of the controls needed. I appreciate the new AI agent, which has relevant context of our existing policies, documents, and posture.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Pricing is pretty steep. Auditor visibility and audit standardization could be improved. The platform leaves room for confusion with how evidence is tracked and shared. We find ourselves providing evidence for things that should be easily auto tracked. Initial setup was relatively difficult because it didn't provide guidance on what SOC2 is for a company navigating it for the first time.

Vanta helps us achieve compliance and get audits with less procurement. The new AI agent has relevant context of our existing policies, making it easier to navigate new territories.

I love the weekly mail reminders for updated packages.  We have also been able to integrate it seamlessly with Claude & Linear for automated updates!

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I do think a dark mode would be nice (all of my other apps are in dark mode)

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta has been invaluable in consistently identify packages for updates across our range of products - keeping up with this without Vanta was very difficult and easy to procrastinate.  Vanta's performance is also very fast and we can see immediate updates on Critical, High, Medium, and Low issues.

I use Vanta for SOC2 compliance and really appreciate its ability to automate the compliance process. The automated tests for compliance validation are especially valuable as they ease the overseeing of must-haves. I also found the initial setup to be quite straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I think Vanta leans too heavily on AI for automated fixes. It's not really something I use or need, and I feel like they should maybe remove it since it's not useful or asked for.

Ease of use and the variety of automated tests. The system has a lot of integrations, which means that most of the services we use are testable by the platform

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

it would be good if there was a way to approach the controls via task view. We do use Jira however but theres no functionality to see where tasks haven't been assign for something

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

being able to have automated tests is the biggest benefit, as we'll as recommendations for what proof is requirements i/e documentation. The support team are very responsive and able to help with any issues (such as an issue we have with SSO)

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I use Vanta to handle all my client's accounts regarding compliance with many frameworks. It solves the compliance hustle by having all the evidence needed for auditors on just one platform. I love that everything is in one place, including evidence, system configurations, users, and assets. Vanta can map the existing evidence gathering to other frameworks, which is amazing. It also manages document cadence, reducing the work needed to obtain compliance for clients who need to meet several frameworks like ISO, SOC, and PCI. Many of my clients have switched from Drata to Vanta, and they are loving it. Since they had some expertise in Drata, using Vanta was a lot easier.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

There are a few improvements that can be made, one of which is having the ability to make it Dark mode for those of us who can't stand too much brightness!

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vanta to manage compliance with various frameworks easily. It solves the compliance hustle by consolidating evidence for auditors in one platform. It organizes evidence, systems, and assets, and maps evidence to other frameworks, reducing workload and handling document cadence efficiently.

I find it easy to use. The integrations are seamless, with good guides and great support if I run into any issues. I haven’t used any AI features yet, but so far my experience has been more than good.

I’ve had a few issues with integrations, but support has been great. That’s all so far.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with compliance and getting ready for an ISO audit. It also makes it much easier to flag any irregularities and identify controls we may have missed when users were offboarded. Overall, it’s been helpful.

It actually reads those massive SOC 2 PDFs from our new vendors and instantly highlights their security failures so I don't have to skim through legal jargon manually.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Sometimes the automated summary completely misinterprets a perfectly fine security control, meaning I still end up reading parts of the PDF just to make sure it didn't mess up.

It speeds up our vendor onboarding by weeks, letting us buy and use new software quickly instead of waiting forever for our IT guy to read fifty pages of text.

The learning curve is complex for beginners. The deployment process takes long time and the licensing cost is high.

Vanta provides the compliance road map for data management in our organization. It has streamlined data configurations with external agents and enhanced effective data security. GitHub Copilot provides tools for writing and testing new codes after development which saves time and cost while enhancing compliance.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I like Vanta's AI model, which is very good. Whenever I upload evidence, it goes through the whole evidence and tells me what are the weak points and what are the gaps. I solve them, and then when I upload them again, Vanta tells me that my evidence is completely fine. That's the best feature.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Sometimes I wasn't able to log in to it. I'm not sure if it was my network problem. I'm not 100% sure. But apart from that, there wasn't anything else that I could find. I've been trying to use it with Claude, the MCP server, but I can't find a way to take the API key from Vanta. I'm not sure where to get that. I've been trying to Google it, but no.

I use Vanta for ISO 27001 compliance. It helps me turn the standard into manageable tests that I can address. Its AI model identifies weak points in my evidence, allowing me to fix them effectively.

I use Vanta for employee compliance and handling customer RFP questionnaires and trust centers. I like that it makes it easy to assign customer-specific questions to different people in the organization and track them as tasks. Vanta is simple, intuitive, and easy to use, getting the job done without complicating it. Slack and email notifications work really well, with reminders that help prevent tasks from slipping. I also appreciate the expansion into shadow IT and customer questionnaires as a good direction for Vanta.

I'm hoping for the platform not to become too complex.

Sometimes navigating the pages in different ways can lead to different information being presented than what was expected.

I don't have to search through lots of spreadsheets or other documents to figure out what issues need to be addressed, and it offers remediation steps for most issues that are easy to follow.

Managing company policies in Vanta is extremely easy, and the platform provides tremendous support when preparing for audits.

Navigation within the platform is not always intuitive and can make it harder to find specific information.

Vanta helped us with SOC Type I and HIPAA, and now assists us with SOC Type II.

I find that audits with Vanta have become a no-brainer. I also really like the onboarding process. It's so well-structured that even someone who doesn't know much about compliance can get ISO or SOC2 compliant on their own by following the onboarding steps, which I think is pretty impressive.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Filtering throughout the platform does not work well. Scoping some tests only to relevant assets/people is not always straightforward. When I type in the search bar, there's a delay between what I type and what is displayed, and often some characters typed are skipped.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vanta to track tasks for legal and regulatory compliance, automate evidence gathering, distribute compliance work, share security documents, and pre-fill security questionnaires. It makes audits simple and the onboarding process helps achieve compliance easily.

I use Vanta as my main governance risk and compliance (GRC) tool. Vanta's alert system and test setup is absolutely a game changer. Being able to know when something critical needs review or when a policy should be updated through automated alerts is great, like having the most reliable teammate. Also, the initial setup was very easy.

Vanta does a great job alerting about product or documents, it could do better at alerting on general timelines like "your audit was completed on x date, this likely means, if you want to continue to maintain compliance, it's time to reconnect with your auditor"

Vanta organizes our compliance processes, automates alert systems and provides peace of mind by notifying us when critical reviews are needed or policies should be updated.

I like how Vanta helps in managing our company's infosec compliance processes by keeping us up to date and automating some procedures. The notifications for overdue tasks are really helpful. What I appreciate most is that we don't need a full-time head to manage everything. It's impressive that Vanta does everything you'd like it to do, and it's certainly worth paying for. Setting it up was pretty easy, especially with the templates Vanta provides for creating policies.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

The UI is a bit disorganized and it can occasionally be hard to find what you are looking for or figure out how to fix a test that is overdue.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I like that Vanta tracks everything, making it easy to see where you're at and what you still need to do. The reminders are really helpful, keeping us on track and ensuring things don't fall through the cracks. I also appreciate that it speeds up the auditing process because everything is there for the auditor, which means you can spend less time with them and more time doing what you do best.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I think Vanta has been built very well for 27001 for the most part, but in some areas, 9001 seems to have been sort of slapped on, and there's things missing that could be really helpful. The customer trust center questionnaire, which leverages AI for customer vendor inquiries, is very efficient. The setup was very easy working with Vanta's product engineers, and the UI is very intuitive. With the knowledge base and tagging options, we are able to upload customer questionnaires and use machine learning to save manual effort and time.

I don't like the audit features where the external auditors have access to our environment. Last fall, during our SOC2 and ISO27001 external engagements, the auditors had historical access to every single automated test. Even if one cloud account failed out of 100,000, it would show up as failed. This led to a lot of false positives and gave the auditors issues that were truly not design or operating issues.
