**What do you like best about Vanta?**

Vanta is really easy to use and integrates well with the tools we already have. The best part is that we don't need to go back and forth with auditors using giant spreadsheets anymore. Everything is in one place. Uploading evidence is simple and saves us a lot of time during audits.

Performance has been solid for us. Our workload isn't huge so we haven't really pushed it to the limits, but we have no complaints there. Support and onboarding were great too, the app is pretty intuitive so we didn't need much hand-holding to get started.

On pricing, it's a bit on the higher side, especially if you're a startup going through your first audit. That said, the ROI is definitely there once you see how much time and effort it saves you.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Some user flows are hidden deep inside specific pages and not easy to find from the main menu. I get that they want to keep the menu clean, but it takes too many clicks to go from a failing test all the way to, say, removing a computer from an employee that left the company. And if you go directly to the computers page, it's not obvious that there's an unassigned computer sitting there. A bit more visibility on those things would help a lot.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're a small company without a dedicated security team, and we needed to get SOC 2 compliant. That's where Vanta really helps. Normal engineers and operations people who don't have deep expertise in security controls can use Vanta and trust it to guide them through the whole audit process. It makes something that feels overwhelming actually manageable for a small team like ours.

I like that I can do my internal audit in it basically daily. It's always monitoring and it's so easy to know when things are off.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Right now their AI agent takes forever to load anything, remediations, questions, etc. Their AI features are extremely slow that you click out of Vanta and forget about it for an hour.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's constantly monitoring for me so I don't have to have an associate or senior compliance person looking at things daily. I can just look at Vanta and see what's out of wack and flag the right teams as a team of one for compliance.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

Old API tokens used to sit forgotten in our AWS console for months until someone casually remembered to clean them up. Now the dashboard automatically catches any developer credentials that haven't been used in ninety days and calls them out immediately.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Service accounts create a massive amount of noise here because our automated scrapers and CI/CD pipelines rely on permanent background keys by design. I waste way too much time writing up custom exclusion rules just to stop the scanner from flagging our legitimate build bots.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

External reviewers get solid proof that we enforce strict least-privilege access across our cloud setup without anyone on my team exporting manual IAM logs. We basically pass the entire user authentication audit in ten minutes because the historical cleanup proof is already sitting right there.

Our team finally stopped arguing over which CVEs need attention first because the dashboard puts a strict countdown timer on every flawed container image. You just glance at the list and know immediately which microservice is about to blow past our fourteen-day patching rule.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Base Linux packages trigger a ton of false alarms, yelling about security flaws that are completely unexploitable in our actual runtime setup. We end up burning half a day every sprint writing technical explanations just to silence warnings on code paths we do not even use.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auditors get an unbroken timeline proving our developers actually squash severe bugs on schedule rather than letting them rot in a backlog. It saves leadership from digging through old Jira boards just to prove we actively maintain our production security.

Intuitive and easy to use. The AI assistant helps verify the quality of evidence submissions. It also offers wide, reliable integrations with many tools. Controls are described in a holistic way, with good examples and, in some cases, templates.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

The AI assistant feels pretty basic as it mostly flags obvious missing items and doesn’t really go deep. The access management module is also very limited. On top of that, there’s a lot of upsell pressure, since you have to upgrade the entire plan just to unlock what should be basic features.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta helps me manage our ISMS in a structured and efficient way by centralizing compliance work and automating many controls through integrations, which significantly reduces the amount of manual evidence collection and repetitive tasks I need to do.

It is a tool that consolidates everything you need to manage a SOC2 system: procedures and policies, audits, user management, and equipment monitoring. Having everything centralized greatly streamlines the audit process. Additionally, the interface is easy to handle, integrates well with our stack, and being a market standard, external auditors work seamlessly with the system.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

It is not particularly cheap; its price is high, but it is true that it has become a standard.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It greatly facilitates the audit and certification process. Additionally, it creates a very good trust center for clients. It centralizes all documentation, procedures, and policies, and also allows for centralizing evidence. On the other hand, it monitors both the equipment and the users. Overall, it is an all-in-one solution, ready to tackle the annual audit.

The most helpful part of Vanta is the visibility it provides into our compliance and security posture. It clearly shows what needs attention, automates a lot of the evidence collection, and helps our team stay on top of requirements without slowing down day-to-day work.

The least helpful part of Vanta is that it can occasionally feel overwhelming when there are a lot of flagged items or tasks to review. Once everything is set up properly, it becomes much easier to manage, but the initial learning curve can take some time.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I like Vanta's continuous cloud posture monitoring. It continuously evaluates cloud resources against predefined compliance controls and security best practices. It immediately identifies publicly exposed storage, weak IAM configuration, or disabled encryption, enabling real-time rapid remediation before compliance violations occur. I also found the initial setup of Vanta easy for us.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I find there is still a limitation on highly customized cloud native applications that require proprietary monitoring. Expanding custom policy engines and providing programmable compliance rules through APIs would improve flexibility.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vanta to continuously assess cloud infrastructure security across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, improving cloud governance, reducing manual compliance activities, and strengthening security. It detects misconfigurations, validates security controls, gathers compliance evidence, and shortens audit preparation, reducing operational overhead and improving visibility.

Vanta automatically tracks compliance with many controls in cloud environments. They also respond to enhancement requests and deliver. They have continued to support us as we add additional accreditations.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Minor point. Originally, lack of agent monitoring support for windows servers. This has been addressed however. There isn't much we don't like!

**Recommendations to others considering Vanta:**

Sign up well in advance of your SOC2 date to get up to speed. Vanta uncovers a lot of items that don't seem obvious and improve security tremendously.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking all SOC2, ISO27001, and HIPAA controls. Vanta has also greatly improved overall security posture and eased the paperwork burden.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I use Vanta primarily for auditing purposes, and I appreciate how it centralizes a lot of our assets. It efficiently shows us the vulnerabilities and risks we need to tackle while also tracking our progress in preparing for audits such as ISO. One thing I really like is how easy it feels to navigate. Additionally, having third-party vendors who also use Vanta enhances our ability to collaborate easily. The initial setup was pretty easy as we had a representative guide us through it, which was beneficial.

I dont have any complaints so far as our use is limited however I haven't had any major interruptions navigating the app

Vanta centralizes our assets, highlights vulnerabilities and risks, and tracks our progress for audits like ISO. It eases collaboration with vendors due to its use by third parties.

I like the portal for clients the most. The fact that you're using Vanta instantly built trust because they know that you're investing in compliance, and it's easy for the clients to review the controls and documents. It's easy for us to centralize all compliance & security documentation. It also helps our client because they can access it on a single location or a single platform.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I think our experience with auditors who are using Vanta is still switching between Google Docs and Vanta for the actual policies and documents. So I'm not sure if there could be some improvements there. Make it more centralized.

I use Vanta to track our ISO and SOC compliance, centralizing all compliance security documents. This simplifies auditor reviews and builds client trust with a single portal for all compliance information.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I use most of Vanta's components like compliance, trust center, risk management, people, assets, and the vendor review and AI. It automates a lot of our compliance efforts, and the AI for security requests saves a ton of time and centralizes our efforts. Vanta saves our organization a ton of time! The integration with about a dozen other tools like Zip, G Suite, KnowBe4, Paylocity, Tenable, and GitHub works well. I found the initial setup pretty easy and straightforward. I rate Vanta a 10 out of 10 in terms of recommending it to friends or colleagues.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Occasionally it's slow or doesn't refresh correctly. I wish there was more API functionality and MCP.

Vanta automates a lot of our compliance efforts, saving us a ton of time. The AI for security requests centralizes our efforts.

I like the information architecture and completeness of the platform in terms of meeting my compliance requirements. It directly integrates with the platforms that we're using and provides a real-time overview of what's where. 

We've been pleased with the ease of adopting Vanta and we feel that it's a fairly priced service that allows us to spend much less time on compliance admin.

It gets a bit complex to follow all the details, and the surface area of the product is big enough to occasionally get lost when looking for things. It could be a bit faster in terms of user experience.

It gives a realtime, comprehensive understanding of where we stand regarding ICT compliance. It does so across documentation and real assets, and offers actionable insight in regards to mitigation opportunities.

Probably the best part of Vanta is that it's just easy to understand. Our teams were able to collaborate within the system pretty easily. We were able to connect a lot of systems easily, making the process smooth. It also saves my team's time in getting SOC compliance and moving along in the process. Their team was really hands-on, and the setup process went smoothly as well.

I'd say the main room for improvement for Vanta would be just more integrations to existing systems that most businesses end up using or are currently using.

I think they should charge a little less for custom frameworks, especially for startups. It'll become more affordable for more companies.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used it to meet our compliance requirements for a custom framework, which is required for us to work with our clients. This framework wasn't available on their platform as an off the shelf solution, so they helped us find a 3rd party company to build it for us.

I appreciate Vanta for its ease of integrations with our existing systems, which helps me not to worry about compliance. The automated tests are also a big plus. I find it really helpful that if someone needs to be offboarded, Vanta flags it for me, and it provides the SLA for my engineering team when a vulnerability needs to be resolved. The initial setup of Vanta was super easy—just connect, configure, and go, making it very straightforward to get started.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Some newer tests and features are auto enrolled which we didn't request causing confusion at times.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta eases SOC 2 compliance and integrates seamlessly with our systems, so I don't have to worry about compliance. It automates tests, flags offboarding needs, and resolves vulnerabilities efficiently with SLAs for my engineering team.

I really enjoy how easy and clear Vanta makes everything, its straightforward to know what the next thing you need to do is. Just about everything is easy to integrate and implement and the customer support is ready to help you if you need it.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

The only thing I found a bit bothersome at times; but also I fully understand the reason behind it; was that completing some tasks added more tasks. I understand not wanting to show  me that I have 500 things to do at the start. But I don't know if there is some way to convey that by completing task x you will add 5 more tasks without also giving me more anxiety about getting all the tasks complete simulataneously.

Becoming SOC2 compliant in a straightforward way.

I like how it makes it easy to stay on top of all the documentation, tests, and other requirements needed for SOC 2.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I don’t have any real dislikes. If I had to mention one, it would be the cost, since we’re a smaller company. It delivers tremendous value, but I’m still not particularly excited about the expense.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’re required to maintain SOC 2 compliance for my company, and this makes the process as simple as possible. The first year was a pain, but the ongoing maintenance years for compliance are much easier.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

Vanta's system integrates with hundreds of different systems, making it easy to automate tasks and tests. Additionally, there are provided templates for almost all documents needed to give you a starting point and guide you in the correct direction for drafting. Beyond checking the box, the Vanta platform guided us seamlessly through the compliance process and fundamentally helped our organization change the way we operate for the better. Whenever confusion or questions came up, our support rep or the customer service team was also very prompt with responding and assisting. They also connected us with potential audit firms and organizations we needed to complete our certifications. We use this platform almost every day even when we're not under audit, and almost any size of organization could benefit from this platform.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Even though Vanta makes compliance so much cheaper than traditional means, it's still a fairly expensive platform, especially for small businesses. They're plans are now more integrated, but the add-ons can add up in cost as well. They'd addressed this with new "packages" to bundle these add-ons in. I do wish some of these add-ons weren't so expensive for smaller startups, which desperately need to the most automation but have the smallest budgets. They continue to add new integrations every month, which makes it work very seamlessly, but still missing a few we'd like.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta is making it easy for organizations to comply with a multitude of security and compliance frameworks in a self-serve manner. We don't have dedicated compliance people to work on this full-time, so the ability for our team to be able to have access to the knowledge and requirements without needing a team of people is a huge lift. It also makes the audit process extremely easier and MUCH cheaper beacuse the auditors can rely on all of the automated tests and checks for evidence for their audit reports.

What I like best about Vanta is the combination of an intuitive, end-to-end compliance platform and an incredibly supportive team. Vanta has given us clear visibility into our compliance requirements, helped us organize evidence and remediation efforts, and made a complex process much more manageable. Their team has been highly responsive and knowledgeable throughout our journey, helping us achieve PCI compliance and now supporting our progress toward SOC 2 Type II and ISO certification.

Nothing at all. But I need to make 33 characters.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta helps us centralize compliance, automate evidence collection, and clearly track gaps and remediation. This has reduced manual work, improved accountability, and made our PCI, SOC 2 Type II, and ISO compliance efforts much more manageable.

I find Vanta very useful for tracking SOC2 and GDPR, managing tasks and focusing on important things. I love how easy it is to use, with simple control and visualization as well. It's very easy to assign tasks, track status, and it also analyzes progress in real time. The integration with Azure is super easy.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I would like Vanta to have a feature like GitHub's 'dependabot', which could tell you what you need to modify and with one click make a PR.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta is very useful for tracking SOC2 and GDPR. It manages tasks and helps me focus on what's important. It also makes it easy to assign tasks, track status, and analyze progress in real-time, being easy to use.

I have experienced that AI occasionally plays it too safe and also flags things that I would probably ignore. Some pages give the feeling that they are built for auditors only.

I really like Vanta's nice, simple user interface. It surfaces the important stuff to action and integrates nicely with lots of different products, which is really helpful. Their support is very helpful too; when something stopped working, they very quickly went through all the steps to get it working again. I appreciate this supportive experience, which is why I'm doing this review. Also, new features like AI evaluation of evidence have been helpful for knowing whether we're kind of along the right tracks.

It's not a particularly cheap solution. It can rapidly add up in cost if you add more and more frameworks. We use an alternative for answering security questionnaires because it provides a more comprehensive solution than Vanta itself does.

Vanta is a really useful tool for consolidating all the requirements for regulatory frameworks, all the way from internal employee onboarding through to third-party visibility and attestation of compliance. Vanta saves a lot of time and resources, with ready to go materials and continual reminders, ensuring we're on top of our regulatory requirements. It effectively communicates to third parties that we take compliance seriously. The user guides are generally really useful, and the responsiveness has always been great.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

There have been a few times where I've tried to work out how to edit employee groups or pull together some information that Vanta stores into an external-facing document. So there is room for more automation in these areas to make them more user-friendly.

Asset management does not allow for the inclusion of a default owner for infrastructure items, which forces us to manually input for each new asset.

It’s easy to use, and the AI agent really helps me understand where to go, what to act on, and how to proceed from “here.” We can also add it via MCP to Claude, which helps a lot when program-managing security frameworks. It loads fast. I didn’t compare pricing in detail, but in my opinion it fits well. It also helps us keep track of offboarding tasks and stay aware whenever a new vendor is discovered on the account. On top of that, we consistently receive quick, responsive help from the Vanta team, which is highly appreciated.

Many of my users are a bit confused about how to use it—where to go and what they need to do for things to move forward. I have to admit this can feel daunting and confusing, especially for people who aren’t experts in frameworks. They are adding places like "my work" and others in Vanta but even with these, things are a bit unclear.

I find Vanta's user interface fairly easy to understand, which helps in navigating through it effortlessly. I appreciate the good enough customizability that allows me to tailor its use to my needs. The conveniently placed video trainings are really useful. Vanta provides visibility into our compliance posture, and it's easy to find and assess compliance with different frameworks, also showing what controls are not compliant. I like that I can deactivate certain integrations if they are not relevant and that I can satisfy some security controls thanks to the security awareness trainings.

Last time it was not possible to exclude certain tests for very specific GitHub repositories. You either have to disable/enable all tests for a given repository. Also, Vanta does not recognize GitHub rulesets within tests related to branch protection rules.

I find Vanta incredibly useful for compliance frameworks and documentation, including HiTrust and SOC 2. It really helps with recurring documentation, like quarterly access reviews, and saves us from creating tickets in a PSA system. Having a dedicated platform for tracking compliance docs means our auditor can see all evidence through Vanta without us digging through tickets. I appreciate that Vanta provides most of a compliance framework's documentation, which saves us from having someone spend weeks sifting through policies manually. The creation of most default controls for a framework gives a great overview of a compliance framework, and it's fine that it goes a little overboard because I'd rather have too much documentation than too little. The initial setup of Vanta was easy, I'd rate it an 8 out of 10.

The AI processing could be improved. It re-runs every single time new evidence is added, which can be annoying. It would be better if there was a 'process with AI' button so it waits until all evidence is added before processing. Also, the 'Policies' templates are a bit rigid, making manual edits difficult. If you manually edit them, it seems like you have to discard all Vanta features/templates related to that policy in the future.

Vanta is the right balance of monitoring, alerting, and tracking to make it easy to meet SOC 2 Type 1 and 2 requirements. We also have started using it for ISO 27001:2022. You can choose to use all of their features or some of their features with no pain. Their SSO platform makes it easy to monitor employee computers, servers, and SLA's.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Vanta has made great progress on the overall bugs and user interface but there is still a lot to be desired. It almost always opens a new tab so if you're really cranking on something, you end up with a million tabs. Also, there choice in buttons is kind of annoying and flat. You'll be looking for an upload button or something and it is hiding in the same color as everything else. A little contrast would go a long way as you're going through repititive processes on pages that look alike but sometimes aren't

They integrate really nicely with Amazon. If you run your own metal, it will take a little bit more work to get everything dialed in, but its probably still worth it.

I feel like Vanta is one of the top companies available for soc 2 level 2 certification. They are guiding us through this long process and seem to be very well organized and methodical on their end. this is exactly what we need

i don't like getting emails about vanta to do items on sunday evenings. this is my personal time and i feel like seeing those emails coming in during the weekend is not nice

We're doing our soc 2 level certification. this is helping us get new sales and keep existing customers since customer requirements are changing rapidly. Specifically the best thing vanta is helping us with is guiding us through the process

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

Vanta's AWS automations and integrations + AI remediation are the best. The AI evidence analyzer is also super helpful and prevents auditor questions later. The UI is also quite clean and minimal which is always appreciated when you're dealing with high information density.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

There's nothing specific that I dislike.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's the cornerstone to our SOC2 and HIPAA compliance - without Vanta, I think it would be near impossible for a team of our size to handle this.
