**What do you like best about Vanta?**

The thing which i like most about vanta is it automates the compliance process easily Vanta keeps track of major security controls and collects evidence in the background also i would like to mention the best part of vanta is it makes audit preparation much less time consuming and effcient The interface itself is straight forward and really helpfull in reducing the manual work

The major downside of vanta is the very initial setup that can take some tim e especially when connecting different tools and configuring compliance requirements But the best part about this is once everything is setup the automation itself makes compliance much easier and more efficient

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I personally feels like vanta solves the challenges of managing security and compliance manually and it automates evidence collection continously and monitors security control and it helps us in many ways being Audit ready is one of them because it reduces manual efforts minimises the risk of missing compliance requirements and it also helps me to stay focus on more important work instead of repititive tasks

Actually, we’ve been using this software for two years now, and it works exceptionally well. The automated evidence collection is a big help—you don’t have to manually take thousands of screenshots and keep them in a separate folder, so it reduces our manual effort a lot. I also like how fast the onboarding is; Vanta provides super-fast onboarding.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I think the main downside of Vanta is its pricing. It can feel a bit costly for teams with a smaller number of employees. I also feel Vanta has limited use cases, which is another drawback. The base plan of Vanta costs around ten thousand dollars, so yes, it can be quite expensive.

Our team has been using Vanta for a long time now. It monitors our systems 24/7 and sends alerts if something happens. We also use it to reduce manual effort—for example, it automates evidence collection and helps us with governance. Overall, it’s been very useful for us. The UI is also very good, which makes it super easy to use, and it performs great.

Vanta has been very helpful for us and has been one of our most constant products , its automated evidence collection feature and super fast onboarding feature has been my most favourite like you don't need to manually take thousands of screenshots and keep them into a folder , Vanta's AI features does it automatically for us , its user interface is really clean andit is very easy to use

What I like best about Vanta is the integration and automatic controls that greatly assist with compliance across various frameworks, significantly reducing manual effort. Additionally, the Vendor Risk Management section is very convenient, especially since the Trust Center link is automatically provided, streamlining the process and making it easier to manage vendor compliance efficiently.

Vanta can feel overwhelming at first with so many features and compliance tasks. Some automated alerts are repetitive, and occasionally the AI hallucinates policy placements. With proper tuning, though, it becomes a powerful tool for streamlining compliance.

Vanta is solving the problem of managing compliance across multiple frameworks by providing the required tests and, where applicable, offering templates to streamline the process. It also automatically pulls evidence for these tests, which significantly reduces the manual effort needed for audits. This is extremely helpful because many of our clients rely on Vanta to maintain compliance with several frameworks simultaneously, saving both time and resources and ensuring ongoing audit readiness.

The user interface is very easy to use.  It makes filling out a form or keeping our SOC2 controls up to date incredibly easy and pain-free.  We've added multiple integrations that assist with offboarding and maintaining accurate test results. Set-up was very easy with the given tutorials. It's a bit expensive, but it basically replaces an employee.  For us, this was the reason to spend the money on such an application.

We have to complete yearly security forms for clients and the AI in Vanta takes so much of the guess work out of that process for us.  It's fast and reliable.  What used to take 1-2 weeks, now takes a couple of hours.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

The system is very easy to use, and it’s extremely helpful to be able to see at a glance which items need to be addressed. The integration process was quick and straightforward, without requiring a heavy lift from our engineering group. The update emails that call out what needs to be reviewed and resolved are useful as well, and they help us stay on top of everything in an efficient, organized way. Vanta's pricing was also very competitive compared to the other vendors we evaluated during our RFP process.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Several third-party vendors we use didn’t have an integration feature at first. We were able to update and connect those vendors; however, the integration still isn’t fully functional and doesn’t report on all the necessary aspects of the service being used. For example, the system doesn’t seem to recognize when web browser password managers are used. It would be great if these password manager options were visible within the system.

Vanta is helping us become SOC compliant. It provided a clear gap analysis of what we needed to update in our systems, processes, and related areas to ensure we were meeting the requirements. I also find it very beneficial that the platform offers recommendations on how to address issues, including suggested code and text we can use.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I love how well structured it is and how it’s tailored to the security standard you want to focus on. It clearly shows your organization’s current standing against each available security standard, so you can adjust your priorities and focus where it makes the most sense. I also appreciate that it integrates with almost any platform in your organization, which makes collecting the necessary data much easier. The interface is also very interactive with quick navigation to different controls. I also love the trust center feature allowing clients to gain access to your company's security posture easily and securely.

it may be a little expensive for small businesses but they do have a unique pricing structure that may be able to cater to all clients

Vanta has completely changed how we handle our annual security compliance certifications, moving us from a manual approach to a more streamlined and automated process. In particular, the AI automated questionnaires module has been especially helpful for supporting the risk assessments our clients ask us to complete.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I appreciate how Vanta has made a significant difference in the way we manage security, compliance, and governance by reducing the burden of fragmented and manual processes. It centralizes our data collection and automates scheduling, which uplifts our practices towards SOC 2 Type II. The way Vanta integrates with our ecosystem is incredibly valuable, supporting access reviews, surfacing known vulnerabilities for patching, and keeping evidence updated, doing a lot of the heavy lifting. It has rapidly helped us demonstrate to our board, enterprise clients, partners, and investors that we have the right controls in place to keep their data safe. I find the setup process of Vanta intuitive and logical, making it easy to get people on board and understand what comes next, while continuously offering improvements.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

One area I have noticed that could be improved is the access requests. It seems to work very well for existing users, but probably not the best for when you've got new onboards and you need to set up their access just prior to them starting. Usually, that's someone else in the team (such as a Manager) requesting access to systems on behalf of the new starter. I think having a flow for setting this up for a new starter might make this process easier.

I find Vanta centralizes data collection, automates scheduling, and eases the burden of managing security compliance and governance. It integrates well with our ecosystem, supporting access reviews and vulnerability patching, while helping us demonstrate to stakeholders that our data controls are effective.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I think the practicality of being able to integrate things simply is a great advantage. Vanta has several integrations with the systems we already use here at Zenvia, which makes it easier to connect my MDM tools, for example. Additionally, it already provides compliance evidence, such as encrypted hard drives and screen lock policies, and also checks if antivirus is installed. The more I integrate, the more I can automate the collection of compliance evidence for the next audit, which greatly optimizes the entire process. The support team is very effective, with service via support@vanta.com in just a few minutes. The use of embedded Artificial Intelligence in the tool is a great differentiator, as it analyzes risk scopes and suggests ISO 27001 controls, as well as analyzes policies and collects controls and documents for compliance with ISO 27001 in an automated way. I notice a significant performance gain with all these Vanta functionalities compared to my old processes.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I don't like the way the policy management module is implemented. Today, it basically functions as a general repository: all policies are in the same place, everyone can view and also edit them, and this is not granular at all.

In my opinion, there should at least be a more structured document management, by area or by type of document. There are documents with different levels of confidentiality, so it would make sense to allow limiting both access and, especially, editing. It would also be important to be able to control editing based on approving groups, with features more akin to document management tools.

I understand that it is a multidisciplinary tool, but for this type of need, I consider the document management model to be very simplistic.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vanta to centralize compliance and risk management. It saves time by collecting evidence through integrations, improves effectiveness in risk analysis, and replaces other tools, reducing costs and modernizing our system.

I have been a Vanta customer for several years, and while the platform is generally okay, there are several recurring issues that significantly affect the overall experience.

The biggest problem is customer support. Responses are often generic and filled with assurances that someone will follow up, but actual resolution is frequently delayed or never provided. In many cases, we have had to investigate and resolve the issue ourselves. The account management experience has been similarly frustrating.

The search functionality is another major weakness. It is difficult to find information unless you already know exactly where it is located. Search results are often incomplete or irrelevant, which makes navigating the platform unnecessarily time-consuming.

Performance is also consistently poor. Pages and actions are often slow, making routine work more frustrating than it should be.

Vanta has also introduced rate limiting within its own user interface. Certain actions or sections become temporarily unavailable because the platform is throttling its own paying users. This is extremely difficult to understand from a product-design perspective and creates unnecessary friction during normal use.

Most integrations work reasonably well, but there are occasional faulty or unreliable integrations that require manual troubleshooting. The desktop agent is particularly problematic. It detects compliance issues based on predefined checks, but provides very little practical guidance on how to understand or resolve them, leaving customers to figure out the next steps independently.

It translates multiple framework controls into actionable items, monitors compliance, and lets you remediate deficiencies quickly. Because controls can be shared across multiple frameworks, fixing a test for one framework also improves compliance with other common requirements, such as patching, user access reviews, backups, and encryption. Automated tests flag when something that was fully compliant in the past needs to be addressed again due to workflow changes, so you don’t have to wait 11 months to discover a deviation at the next audit. Powerful functionality allows you to collect details from all contracts like common obligations such as incident notification SLAs, identify policy inconsistencies and discrepancies between policies and system settings.
The recent integrations of AI agents also supercharge audit responses by finding evidence across multiple systems and combining it into a meaningful narrative. Support is consistently responsive and stays focused on finding a solution.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

There’s a lot of information available in the tool that can be very useful for reports, KPIs, and historical evidence for auditors, but it isn’t always exposed or presented in a practical way. For most controls, there’s a large amount of historical data, and it can be difficult to filter down to what I need or to export it in a usable format.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The out-of-the-box frameworks—along with built-in controls, automated tests, and system integrations—enabled a very fast initial implementation and a high ROI. When new regulations come up, being able to stay compliant by adding a new framework removes uncertainty and reduces the need for guesswork.

What I appreciate most is the intuitive way it allows us to manage and resolve security and compliance action items without the usual headaches.

The standout feature for me is the Linear integration. Being able to seamlessly convert vulnerabilities and security callouts into actionable tasks for our engineering team has been a game-changer. It bridges the gap between security/compliance teams and engineering, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. Instead of manually tracking items in spreadsheets or bouncing between platforms, we can create tasks directly in Linear, which our engineers are already using daily. This integration alone has significantly improved our response time and accountability.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

While Vanta is excellent overall, there's definitely room for improvement in how it handles scan management. My main frustration is the lack of an easy way to deactivate scans that aren't relevant to our specific environment. When certain scans become repetitive or don't apply to our infrastructure, it would be incredibly helpful to have a more granular way to turn them off.

Additionally, I wish there was better memory functionality for deactivated action items. Currently, when you deactivate something, your options are limited—you can either deactivate it indefinitely or deal with it repeatedly. What would be ideal is a middle ground: an option for Vanta to "remember" that we've reviewed and dismissed certain items, without having to make permanent deactivation decisions. This would reduce noise and help us focus on genuinely relevant security issues.

Always improving, with great support and rarely any bugs. The sync integrations are fast and reliable, and overall it’s a wonderful tool to use.

Pricing could be improved. As an Information Security Officer with over five years in the field, I don’t think it makes sense for purchasing the framework for GDPR or CCPA, for example, to be priced the same as SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001. ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II require so many controls and tests, whereas GDPR is much less involved, and I believe that difference should be reflected in the pricing models Vanta adopts.

I have been able to almost fully centralize GRC into Vanta, on all fronts, from HR to Infra. Its very user friendly and the roles and permissions are great for delegation and collaboration.

Vanta democratizes SOC 2, ISO, and other certification preparation and audits. It tells me exactly what to do, when to do it, and what I’m missing along the way. I could have hired a larger, expensive consulting firm to handle all of this work for me, but with Vanta I didn’t need to. That’s allowed me to repurpose those budget dollars to where they’re most needed: my security stack.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

While Vanta makes it simple to prepare for and pass a SOC 2 certification audit, it can feel fairly rigid. What I like most is that you can connect your infrastructure and security tech stack and it does the rest—that’s literally how and why it works so well. It handles the control testing for you.

That said, there are often systems I can’t connect because privacy requirements don’t allow it, and there isn’t (as far as I know) much wiggle room in those situations. Also, when you connect anything, it seems to see everything and often surfaces systems, vendors, or issues that are irrelevant—basically false positives—that you then have to keep explaining away on each sync. Maybe they’ve solved this and I’m just not aware of where the magic “fix it” button is.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta is guiding me through my first SOC 2 audit. It feels like having a large audit firm in your corner, working with you pro bono. Yes, the application has an annual fee, but it’s negligible compared to what we’d be paying a consulting firm. Will we need a consulting partner or a full-scale security team in the future? Probably. But right now, in these early days, Vanta is all I need.

Some things are hard to find and not very intuitive. There was a recent update on organization-level tests that no longer work across multiple products (for us, we have two products in Vanta but track organization-level in our 'main' product). The access review workflows save us significant time each quarter, and the integration ecosystem is broad enough to cover most of our stack out of the box.

The user access review workflow is tedious — exporting CSVs from each tool, uploading them, and manually matching users is time-consuming, especially for tools without a direct integration. Some integration coverage feels shallow (data syncs but doesn't always pick up the right evidence), and the UI can be slow to load when navigating between sections. Pricing also scales steeply as you add frameworks.

Vanta solves the problem of continuous compliance monitoring without requiring a dedicated GRC team. Before Vanta, evidence collection for SOC 2 and other frameworks meant chasing screenshots, manually pulling reports from each SaaS tool, and rebuilding the same artifacts at every audit cycle. Vanta automates that by pulling evidence directly from our integrated systems (JumpCloud, Google Workspace, AWS, etc.) and surfacing failing controls in real time, so we can fix issues as they occur instead of discovering them during an audit. I really like using Vanta's automated user lifecycle management. It easily integrates with our HR system and identity provider to monitor employee onboarding, role changes, and offboarding. It continuously verifies that employees complete mandatory security training and acknowledge company policies. Vanta provides centralized information about an employee from onboarding to role change to offboarding and confirms that accounts are deactivated promptly across connected applications. This feature improves identity governance, reduces insider security risks, and ensures compliance with least-privilege access and audit requirements. Plus, the initial setup was quite easy for us.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I would like to see improvement in its limited support for customized HR workflows and proprietary HRIS platforms. Sometimes, organizations with high or complex processes require manual configuration or external automation tools. I would like to see improvement in a low-code workflow automation engine with configurable approval logic, custom HR triggers, and approval HRIS integrations. This would help in simplifying implementation, reducing manual intervention, improving process flexibility, and better supporting enterprise-scale human resource compliance operations.

I lead a revenue team of 28 people and vanta has worked best for me when enterprise leads have sent me lengthy questionnaires regarding their security requirements. Last month we had a questionnaire with 132 questions and vanta ai created drafts for most of them. We simply added a few specifics of our company. In addition we have integrated salesforce and google workspace so that all data on accounts and employees were available automatically. The dashboard helps track all pending requests and follow up on them more easily. Initially the subscription seemed quite costly but now it has become clear that due to saved consultancy costs during the last months the investment has started paying off. All setup took us two weeks.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

The only modification that i  would consider making is that a couple of vanta ai's responses will have to go through an additional review manually whenever there are company specific security questions asked by the prospect. The second thing we noticed was that once the new integration was added it took a bit of time for the employee details to show up in the dashboard thus delaying the process.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With vanta we did not have to wait for several departments to come up with answers to the security questions that companies posed to us. For instance just last month a prospect company sent us a 135 question security questionnaire which we had to answer within two days. With vanta ai we created the first version of the questionnaire while extracting relevant information from our salesforce and google workspace integrations and we were able to submit the questionnaire on time without experiencing any other delays.

It makes risk management straightforward by leveraging automated questionnaire responses and a Live Trust Center where clients and auditors can review security credentials on demand. I dive into Vanta’s dashboard whenever I need an end-to-end view of our security posture, audit progress, and sales pipeline readiness. I can run periodic access reviews across AWS, GitHub, and SAAS applications from a central dashboard to ensure only authorized employees have access to company resources. Vanta ensures that former employees or offboarded contractors instantly lose privileges. The initial setup was handled by Vanta vendors, so it was not my concern.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

As the growth marketing manager at maiden systems with a 25 person team my main interaction is with Vanta when handling requests from potential enterprise clients. In one product launch vanta ai generated responses for various sections of the security questionnaires that just required minor editing rather than having to write everything from scratch. The dashboard indicates what items remain for compliance without going from one page to another. We connected Google Workspace, Okta, AWS, GitHub, Jira and Slack. so, the evidence was collected automatically before the week of our audit. While it might not be cheap to subscribe to Vanta, it was worth it in terms of saving costs on compliance consultants for basic tasks.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I cannot think of any drawbacks of vanta performance wise. When we were preparing security checks for our client's project, vanta helped us with continuous monitoring, evidence gathering and account linking without problems. I have never had any loading issues, syncing problems or delays when looking at more than one compliance or security update at once.

I like that Vanta is configurable, which is really useful for us because we have several frameworks to adhere to, and each year, new ones are added. Vanta allows us to have the same controls being mapped to different frameworks, so we avoid having to search for the same information several times a year. We just use one control and link it to different frameworks. It's also great that you can create custom frameworks, configure it to match the requirements of different frameworks, and you only have to work on a control once a year. This saves a lot of time and avoids unnecessary duplication of work.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

What doesn't work well is the policy alerting when it's about to expire because we can see it's about to expire, but we don't see a test saying it needs to be reviewed within a month. So I need to manually go and check which ones are about to expire, and I asked Vanta support about this. But it was not solved.

I find Vanta incredibly helpful for our ISO 27001 certification process. It allows us to work in a structured way and keeps everything in one place, ensuring good process organization. The reminders about tasks and updates we need to handle are very useful. My favorite feature is definitely the AI assistant, which acts as a great sounding board and partner to help me understand different tests, requirements, and how to take the correct actions. I also good really good support and help from our CSM Jamie!

I believe the search function for searching across different tests is pretty poor. The search result isn't always very smart, and I think that's an area for improvement.

I keep getting the same alerts over and over about a compliance check that didn’t actually fail, which is very irritating. The initial setup was also tricky and more complicated than it needed to be, particularly around granting permissions for each individual backend software component.
