Being able to integrate all of our 3rd party apps within the program. Ability to track and plan for upcoming audits across different departments.

Cant duplicate frameworks, if you complete one task it will tick it off across all frameworks, hard to track when we have different frameworks for each external site.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I have really appreciated how Vanta has made setting up and managing compliance straightforward for our small team of employees, despite lacking a dedicated compliance department. The setup process out of the box is incredibly user-friendly and adaptable to any organization, providing a significant advantage in getting 95% of the way towards compliance effortlessly. Vanta's tool allows us to manage compliance efficiently without requiring a chief compliance officer or an in-house legal team, which is cost-effective and vital for a small startup like ours. It's streamlined our processes, saving us time and creating greater efficiencies in handling compliance-related tasks, which are often arduous when done manually. We've also benefited from the streamlined security review and access request processes, which are well-developed and assist in tracking system access within the company. Furthermore, Vanta's value per dollar is outstanding, as it effectively eliminates the need for an entire compliance department, making it an incredible and integral tool for us. The customer service is timely and responsive, with a willingness to jump on calls to solve problems, and they make sure to provide options and discounts, which I find honest and straightforward. Overall, Vanta not only stands out as the best compliance tool I've used but also comes highly recommended by our leadership team.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I would probably change the initial onboarding and maybe funnel customers into a more directed onboarding based on their industry. Determining who has access to what is a very tricky area, and there's room for improvement in the access section to make it clearer. Also, the use of integrations and its expansion is a topic Vanta understands, but there's always room for more.

I use Vanta to manage compliance efficiently with a small team, eliminating the need for a dedicated compliance department. It streamlines complex tasks, like security reviews, saving time and boosting efficiency without manual errors.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

Vanta provides excellent automation and visibility into our compliance program. I like how easily it integrates with our existing tools, like AWS, Azure AD, Google Workspace, and Jira, to continuously monitor controls and evidence. The dashboard is clean and intuitive, making it simple to track audit readiness and identify any gaps proactively. It saves a huge amount of manual effort during SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits, and the reminders for control ownership and evidence collection are especially helpful.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

Occasionally, the integrations can take a bit of troubleshooting, especially for custom or nonstandard setups. Some notifications and evidence reminders could be more flexible in scheduling, and the initial onboarding requires guidance to configure everything optimally. However, the support team is responsive and helps resolve issues quickly.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

Vanta simplifies so many processes and the management of security frameworks. Its very easy to navigate and see your tasks, tests, and controls. Some of my favourite features are:

- Numerous Integrations that automate a lot of Tests. This saves so much time.

- Risk Register, keeping the Risk within our ISMS is great and the ability to create Tasks and Remediation plans directly within Vanta is very helpful.

- Vendor Management, this is really useful, especially for uploading security reviews.

- Support is always prompt and helpful. Even the AI Support is quite good compared to other companies.

- The new Policy builder is FANTASTIC! This feature alone has saved us dozens of hours.

- It was very easy to get started and implement. We were very stagnant in our SOC2/ISO27001 progress with our last ISMS supplier, but once we switched to Vanta, we were able to build so much momentum and get certified.

- I use Vanta every day, and I love it.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I have not found anything that I dislike about Vanta.

Certain features that require an extra fee really ought to be part of the standard package. As more features are rolled out, I've observed that the support team is sometimes not up to date or sufficiently trained on the latest additions. Furthermore, the time it takes for data migration and framework uploads could definitely be improved. In particular, there ought to be flexibility in adding and removing PCI controls.

Instead of relying on Excel files to manage controls, vendors, and other compliance activities, Vanta provides a centralized platform for handling these tasks. Its integration with relevant tools enables automatic data retrieval and streamlines the management of controls, resulting in considerable time savings. Additionally, by granting auditors access to view control activities, Vanta further enhances efficiency throughout the compliance management process.

Vanta’s automation is a game-changer. It eliminates the tedious manual work involved in gathering audit evidence and tracking compliance controls. The platform’s integrations with popular tools—like Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and Jira—make it incredibly easy to monitor systems and users in real time. The dashboard is intuitive, visually clean, and provides an at-a-glance view of your compliance status. I especially appreciate the reminders and alerts that keep the whole team accountable without adding extra administrative burden.

The continuous monitoring and audit-readiness support are by far the most helpful features. Vanta doesn’t just help you pass an audit once—it helps you stay compliant all year long. Their support team and dedicated compliance specialists are also excellent, offering hands-on guidance throughout the certification process. The pre-built policy templates and security questionnaires save a ton of time and make compliance accessible, even for teams without a full-time security or compliance expert.

The biggest upside is confidence and speed. Vanta drastically reduces the time it takes to get audit-ready (SOC 2, HIPAA, etc.), which means you can close deals faster and demonstrate trust to customers sooner. It also scales well—what starts as a compliance tool quickly becomes a security management system that grows with your company. The automation, integrations, and excellent customer experience all make Vanta a long-term partner rather than just a one-time compliance vendor.

While Vanta is an incredibly powerful platform, there are moments where the user interface can feel a bit overwhelming—especially when you’re first getting started. With so many integrations and automated checks running, it can take some time to understand how everything connects. Occasionally, certain integrations (like custom infrastructure setups or less common tools) require extra configuration or manual input to sync properly.

The policy customization process could be more flexible. Vanta offers great templates, but editing or tailoring them to specific internal workflows sometimes feels constrained by the platform’s structure. Additionally, notifications can be a bit noisy, and fine-tuning alert settings to avoid alert fatigue takes some trial and error.

The main downside is cost and learning curve—Vanta isn’t the cheapest option, and smaller startups might find the pricing high if they’re early in their compliance journey. There’s also a dependency on Vanta’s integrations, so if your tech stack isn’t well supported, you might need some manual workarounds. I haven't found any so far - we use it for ISO, GDPR & Cyber Essentials Plus, and it works very well!

I greatly appreciate Vanta for its streamlined and simple process of managing our security compliance tasks related to application and network security. This has provided immense benefits by helping maintain our corporate security posture. The setup process was evidently very easy, as I never heard any complaints, which suggests a hassle-free experience. One of the most valuable aspects is the automated tracking and reporting features, especially when dealing with auditors, as these save me a significant amount of time and prevent headaches associated with manual processes. Additionally, Vanta efficiently integrates with a range of software we already use, like Jira, GitHub, and Microsoft 365, enhancing its utility. I also value that Vanta is regarded as an industry standard and genuinely works as advertised, making it a trustworthy choice. I truly appreciate how Vanta simplifies our compliance process, specifically by managing various compliance aspects and enabling us to be SOC 2 certified. This certification significantly bolstered our business reputation. I find immense value in the efficiency Vanta brings by allowing us to seamlessly track our employees, organize policy additions, and handle their acceptance without cumbersome one-on-one discussions, thanks to the ability to send out policy packets. The remediation and status filters stand out for me because they are incredibly easy to use and helpful when assigned correctly. These features undoubtedly streamline our workflow and make compliance management much less burdensome. The overall experience with Vanta has been so positive that, knowing what we do now, I would repurchase it multiple times over.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I found the initial setup process with Vanta to be very time-consuming. It needed substantial efforts to build out all necessary components and to learn the system before adding our employees. Vanta's interface could also be improved; it is currently all one color, which makes navigation difficult. I've learned my way around, but it would be more user-friendly with a clear breakdown of tabs on the left-hand side. Additionally, the pricing is not clearly outlined on the website or readily available in a quote, which makes planning and budgeting more challenging.

Vanta centralized and automated much of the compliance work that used to take endless spreadsheets and back-and-forths between teams. I complete the internal audit for our ISO 27001 compliance so the Controls dashboard and filtering help a ton in guiding the audit and staying organized.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

That it is only a compliance tracking tool when it has potential for much more. We were hoping to use it for our ISO 9001 compliance as well, essentially utilize it as a QMS, but the functionality is not there yet. It would have been really helpful, especially considering that all other tools in the market are severely outdated.

I like Vanta because it gives us a dashboard and a list of tasks to complete for compliance. I also appreciate how it provides possible next steps for each security task, which I usually refer to and follow, leading to the completion of most tasks.

The app is a bit harder to navigate, especially for new users. It could use an onboarding flow. The process of getting auditors could also be improved.
