The automated continuous monitoring runs against our connected integrations, so control drift surfaces on its own instead of requiring someone to go verify things by hand. For a lean security team, that's the difference between staying audit-ready year round and scrambling before every audit. Beyond the automation, it's become our single platform for the whole GRC program: ISO 27001 controls and evidence, our policy library with review cycles and employee acceptance, vendor risk assessments through the TPRM module, and personnel onboarding and offboarding tasks. Having all of that in one place instead of spreadsheets is a huge time saver. Performance has been consistently solid. The platform is fast and responsive even with a large volume of tests, policies, and vendor records, and the integration syncs run reliably in the background without needing babysitting. The acceptance AI is handy, as we get immediate feedback on our submissions. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** I wish there was more integration between some of the Document tasks and our ticket tracking system, e.g. for pentest remediation it would be nice to tag those cards as "pen test remediation" and have them automatically show up on the Document task. As it is, I need to gather all the URLs and/or screenshots manually. They're plans are now more integrated, but the add-ons can add up in cost as well. They'd addressed this with new "packages" to bundle these add-ons in. I do wish some of these add-ons weren't so expensive for smaller startups, which desperately need to the most automation but have the smallest budgets. They continue to add new integrations every month, which makes it work very seamlessly, but still missing a few we'd like. **What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?** Vanta is making it easy for organizations to comply with a multitude of security and compliance frameworks in a self-serve manner. We don't have dedicated compliance people to work on this full-time, so the ability for our team to be able to have access to the knowledge and requirements without needing a team of people is a huge lift. It's nice to have a short but useful video for those who want to see it, ensuring that baseline compliance for all staff is taken care of without wasting my time. We use the Trust Center, which is really good for getting sales prospects up to speed and giving us a professional kind of front door for security. It also reduces my workload since I have to answer fewer questions because people can get the documents themselves. Having Trust Center access approval integrated with Slack is really useful for our globally distributed team as it allows someone on the sales team to quickly approve access in Slack rather than waiting for me. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** We don't use a lot of the add-ons in Vanta, like the Vanta AI agents, because we have another product for security questionnaire automation (SecurityPal). When we started, the risk and vendor management systems were underpowered. They've since relaunched as add-ons, but they're probably a bit out of our price range. We handle this in Notion databases where we have full control over metadata and filtering. Vanta has also been extremely helpful with completing security questionnaires, which saves us a lot of time. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** The only area that can be challenging is the integration with Microsoft MDM/Intune. Sometimes the security test controls don't sync perfectly, and Vanta may flag workstations as failing items like encryption or password manager even though they are compliant in Intune. In some cases, a single missing data point can cause multiple tests to show as incomplete for the same device. As someone who operates within AWS, I found the initial setup very quick and easy. The Google Docs policies are marked as updated drafts every time someone opens the document, which is not optimal. I also appreciate that it provides recommendations on how to mitigate and/or fix different findings, including a general overview along with AWS CLI commands. I also love the various templates for policies and procedures. This makes it very easy to get started with them if you have very little in place. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** When you’re new and just getting started with SOC compliance, it can feel a bit overwhelming. Along the way, questions are bound to come up, and I highly recommend leaning on your account manager to help explain things and guide you through the process. Also, while the automated recommendations for resolving and mitigating issues can be useful, they shouldn’t be followed blindly. Take the time to verify and understand what you’re actually applying before running any AWS CLI command. Lastly though it supports a vast majority of integrations there was a few here and there that lacked. However this could also be due to 3rd parties not proving proper API integration. **What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?** Vanta is helping us work toward SOC compliance. Without its interface and integrations with our existing infrastructure and vendors, the process would have been chaotic and far more time-consuming. ### 44. Regardless of market size, the team is always supportive when issues arise or we can't find the answers we need. Product Feedback is heavily appreciated and is put into future sprints; our team has seen many new features pushed out based upon feedback we've given and this continues to enhance the platform even further. Ease of use for those who are not familiar with GRC platforms is a huge selling point. Setting up integrations and getting your GRC program up and running makes it incredibly easy for the end user; whether its a seasoned IT professional or a new compliance analyst. Did I also mention they have the HITRUST framework available; out of the box!! No more manually monitoring or logging into MyCSF all the time - a huge time and resource saver that immediately provides ROI for any organization. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** While we've had some issue with a certain 3rd party integration, Vanta has continued to make themselves and their engineers available to help resolve (even though the issue lies with the other 3rd party and not Vanta). Vanta was able to partner with us and the 3rd party to resolve the issue and ensure bi-directional feed of data from the 2 platforms. So, dislikes? Hard to account for because they are continually innovating on their product and taking steps to shore up any items that present gaps or discourage an end user from a positive experience when using Vanta. **What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?** The platform is allowing a small but mighty team to have a holistic view of our overall compliance program and the health of it and its supporting programs and processes. It allows for organizational transparency and reduces the audit fatigue that can occur with technical teams. Clients can easily self-serve any evidentiary objects needed to complete an audit without having additional resources involved. This saves so much time when completing security questionnaires as we can direct clients to the Trust Center to self-serve these objects. While we still receive security questionnaires, anything a client can't glean from the Trust Center is easily tackled in the Vanta Questionnaire Automation, thanks to our beefy knowledge bank and the magic AI on the backend. It's like having 2-3 GRC analysts on hand at all times!
