"Powerful rendering engine for professional 3D visualization"
5/5
What do you like best about V-Ray?

V-Ray consistently delivers photorealistic results with a high level of control over every rendering aspect. The integration with 3ds Max is smooth and stable, making it my go-to renderer for product animations and architectural visualization. The wide range of materials, lighting tools, and render elements provides flexibility for both stills and animations. The denoiser and progressive rendering make look-development faster and more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about V-Ray?

Render times can still be heavy on complex animations, especially when using brute force on high-detail scenes. GPU memory limitations can also be a challenge for very large projects. While Chaos has improved the UI in recent versions, some settings are still scattered and require advanced knowledge to fully optimize. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Indispensable for Visualization and Teaching"
5/5
What do you like best about V-Ray?

I like the large number of tools that V-Ray offers and its compatibility with many other software. I find it valuable the time saved when switching from one software to another, making the most of time and quality. Also, I think V-Ray is the best photorealism software on the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about V-Ray?

The 3D models in the plans for visualization because only the outline is seen and what it represents can be lost. For schematic representation in project plans, there is an area for improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about V-Ray?

I use V-Ray for rendering marketing images and animations, and it's my go-to renderer because of the speed, reliability, and the robust ecosystem it offers. I like that it's linked with Vantage, and I appreciate its speed, reliability, and realistic rendering capabilities. It just does what I want it to do, and the ease of use is very valuable to me, especially since I've been using it for over 10 years. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy. "Great Visualisation Software"
4.5/5
What do you like best about V-Ray?

The integration within the modelling software makes it part of the same program, not exporting and importing, making a change to the model integrates effortlessly. The rendering quality and custimisation of settings to achieve desired results makes it a leading rendering program. Installation of the software is very simple and the regular updates with new features shows the dedication to continually enhance the software. I use the software regularly proffessionally and as a lecturer of communication modules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about V-Ray?

There is a steep learning curve which takes trial and error to become profficient in the use. Whilst intial renders are easily achievable the complexities take time to master. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"V-Ray has upped my game in 3D graphics and animation"
5/5
What do you like best about V-Ray?

Easy to get started and put into your arsenal of tools and get great results without changing settings plus the ability to tweak performance and results. Customer service is amazing and have looked at our 3D scenes and fixed issues and gave back to us. Use it daily in a variety of projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about V-Ray?

Distributed rendering doesn't work sometimes and when it does, sometimes it is slower than rendering on one computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great all-rounded rendering software that can be used with SketchUp"
4.5/5
What do you like best about V-Ray?

Best part of using V-Ray is the ability to easily get high-quality assets that will render perfectly using the V-Ray rendering engine.

The plug-in is very powerful and allowed me to create stunning renders without much effort. The lighting set-up was straightforward and the easiest of all SketchUp plugins I have tried.

The set-up on SketchUp was as straightforward as just installing the plug-in, settings up a few lighting components and hitting render. I have used it for every studio design project and it proved to be an amazing sale-up opportunity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about V-Ray?

V-Ray can sometimes feel overwhelming. There is a lot that this plug-in offers and, realistically, you would need to dedicate time and attention to tutorials/documentation to use this plug-in to the maximum. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Rendering Tool for High-Quality Visualizations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about V-Ray?

V-Ray's ability to produce highly realistic lighting, materials, and shadows is outstanding. The integration with popular 3D software like 3ds Max, SketchUp, and Rhino makes the workflow smooth. The wide range of presets, material libraries, and customization options allow for excellent creative control. Its GPU and CPU rendering options offer flexibility depending on project needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about V-Ray?

The learning curve for beginners can be quite steep, especially when dealing with advanced settings. Some rendering times can be long for complex scenes without proper hardware optimization. The licensing system can occasionally be confusing for new users, and customer support response times could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent rendering engine"
5/5
What do you like best about V-Ray?

The realism you can achieve is amazing, also using vantage with vray changed the way I do rendering, easier and faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about V-Ray?

Some tools aren´t supported on vantage, so this is inconvenient, also they have some ai tools that haven´t included in vray or vantage, like the ai enhancer, in other tools this is integrated in the frame buffer, but in vray you need to go to Chaos web page and do the enhancement separately, this is very inefficient, and in vantage is not included. "Vray a useful tool"
4/5
What do you like best about V-Ray?

Photorealistic quality → One of the industry standards for producing extremely realistic renders with accurate lighting, reflections, and materials.

Flexibility → Works across many platforms (3ds Max, SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, etc.) and supports CPU, GPU, or hybrid rendering.

Large material/asset library → Makes it easier to quickly set up scenes with realistic textures and lights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about V-Ray?

License cost → Not the cheapest option for students or small studios.

Less “instant feedback” → Compared to real-time renderers, adjusting materials/lighting sometimes takes longer to preview. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
