## UserTesting Reviews
  ### 1. Gain great insights for how users navigate and use your site

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan S. | Digital Marketing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I love that you get actual realtime feedback from real people. The time turnaround is also a plus. You're not waiting weeks on feedback. It's usually within hours.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

That sometimes it can be pricey. If you're not getting a special rate or find a coupon code somewhere, it can get expensive.

But would you rather pay a premium to get great feedback, or have users bounce from your site because it's awful?

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been able to see how users navigate my site, and if the things I want on my site matter. Having the recordings is also beneficial as I can take those recordings to my higher ups and they can make data driven decisions on how the site should function and operate.

  ### 2. UserTesting is the best for unmoderated user research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

It's easy to screen and find participants, with such a large panel and I've never had a problem immediately contacting customer service.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

A few issues are transferring the massive amount of information via excel sheet. I wish that there was a way to directly build charts and build out information easily, all within the platform. Yet, UserTesting is still better than the other user research and usability testing tools I have used.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do nearly all of our usability testing on the platform and have found it great in receiving quick feedback, especially when it comes to preference testing. UserTesting helps us quickly validate our customer's needs and if we're going in the right direction.

  ### 3. A UI designer’s perspective on UserTesting

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Atif U. | Senior UI/UX Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like how UserTesting enables product managers to get real time feedback remotely.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

As a designer, I don't like the fact that it will take some playing around to get a cost estimate

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to get access to target demographic is something that really stands out to me

  ### 4. UserTesting allowed me to truly empathize with my team's users.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allyson G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting can identify possible pain points throughout my team's website development. UserTesting also can select a specific demographic. The feedback we receive allows us to better empathize with our users. I love that UserTesting makes it easy to generate questions to ask our users. Its ability to enable us to digest user feedbacks and responses to the problem allows us to organize better and prioritize high priority adjustments.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes, a user might not match the demographic selected, but on the other end, this could be because our team might not fully understand our demographic. It might be helpful to provide more in-depth information about the demographics we select. I feel that UserTesting is a little pricy, but I am also a college student. If this were from an organization's credit card, I could see this sounding more affordable.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

UserTesting is a great tool to learn about your users. It also helps us build a stronger user persona. UserTesting allows us to show our clients feedback directly from their users.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are determining how long it takes for a user to digest content on the website. User testing allows us to see if they would start or leave the page at any point during the test. The find the most significant benefit of UsetTesting is that it gives student's the ability to receive real industry experience.

  ### 5. UserTesting is not perfect, but the interface is user friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel S. | User Experience Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

What I like the best is that User Testing has a good user-friendly dashboard; the solution we are using right now, which is certainly your competitor, has more features, but in my opinion, that brings a lot of unneeded complexity and in certain times feels hard to use.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

My company is not using UserTesting for a while, because they moved for another solution, but if I remember well, your video player is very buggy. I don't know if this issue was just with me, but a few times, I really couldn't navigate through the video (skip through different sections and bullet points on the video), but that might be just an abnormal situation. Another thing I noticed was the quality of the testers; a few times, I ran into people who only responded positive things about my design, without questioning anything, to go through the test and complete quickly. Feels like this person only wanted the money and didn't care about tests.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Really what I recommend and like about User Testing is the easiness of the use and how fast they get qualified testers.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a UX designer qualified by my company to conduct small studies, so when I used User Testing, it was to test a few nuts and bolts of the experience and see if those resonate with my population so that I can have at least some validation that I am solving the right problem the right way. I realized that other than few users who seem to be on the platform to grab some easy money, there are really serious people who gave me exciting feedback, and I was able to change my designs based on their inputs.

  ### 6. Great tool for all kinds of rapid testing and fast feedback

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Usertesting is an excellent tool to gain qualitative feedback on multiple experiments - from marketing messages to product design to concept comprehension. The ability to launch a test and get feedback within minutes or hours is incredible and allows us to move quickly on initiatives with higher confidence.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

One challenge I have experienced with Usertesting is being able to understand what kind of account permissions I have. I've had my seat changed several times and have never received and email announcing the changes and what they mean to me.

Also, sometimes the users are able to sneak their way past the screener and it is unfortunate we cannot mark those responses as invalid or be able to suppress those users from future similar tests.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

If you want a more robust quantitative service, I would do more research on UserTesting. For any qualitative research, I would strongly recommend this platform.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used this platform to optimize designs, improve marketing copy, and run "mini" surveys on my target audience. I love being able to reach prospects through UserTesting.

  ### 7. Useful Service

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eva S. | Tarot Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I liked that you could get real feedback on your website, and that it was usually pretty detailed as well. Being able to set your own questions that the tester would have to answer/navigate to was really helpful because in some ways you are better able to get targeted guidance rather then generic.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

My biggest frustration was with the people chosen to interact with my site. I specifically set up "pre-screening" questions because I have a really niche market. Multiple times I got people who either had no clue what my site was about (I am a tarot reader) or they disagree with my profession so they would leave really short answers. And when you are having to pay a significant amount of money for those videos it is hard when you are not getting quality testing.

I really miss the free option that the company used to have. I imagine that there were people who would take advantage of it but for a small business it can be really cost prohibitive to take a risk on a video that may not be at all helpful. Having a free option, even to just get a feel for how the platform works, makes it less frustrating if the test turns out to be not useable. It was frustrating enough that I never paid for more then 3 tests (which was a significant amount of money for what I ended up getting.

I also found that it was frustrating too when people gave brief answers to questions you set, or completely ignored the question. For example I might ask how easy it was to locate something and they would instead talk about how they felt about a color or an image. Still important feedback, but not what I was most concerned about, if that makes sense. Maybe a bit more attention to who gets to do the testing?

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

This has a lot of potential to be helpful if you have a site that is in a more mainstream industry. More niche industries seem to be hard to place open-minded testers on. Expect that at least one test will likely be less then helpful. As of last look there is no free option any longer, so expect to pay $50-$100 just to get started.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The helpful tests that I did get were key to me seeing what path needed to be taken to get to a particular place - ie, if it was easy for clients to locate. I also learned what color schemes seemed to frustrate people as well as what images they would expect to see. After implementing the changes most often submitted I saw a sales increase of 113% the first year. I have also been able to look at my site with a more critical eye.

  ### 8. Very helpful for quick testing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jai D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The enterprise account allowed me to choose people from my area (Canada) and filter for province. I liked that aspect and the fact it was so quick. I could get results very quickly. I also felt support were helpful in getting back to me when I had problems. For example, the tester didn't follow instructions or had some technical glitches. I liked that I could export the videos easily.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The transcription could be improved, but it was great that there was any at all. The pricing for enterprise was pretty steep compared to the one-offs, and the filtering was only part of the enterprise, so that was unfortunate. Also, when I downgraded, I lost the access to the old videos.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testing the products that I build for my clients. I fundamentally used it for user testing websites. It's so clear that there is a difficulty in me and my team being too close to the product. There were so many things that I found from UT that I wouldn't have thought of. Many of the issues I could fairly easily correct.

  ### 9. Great tool for quick research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting is great at getting your team quick insights into your product. It excels at a fast turnaround, often times within the same day. This is great when you need to get some simple usability feedback on a prototype or on a live product.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

UserTesting is not always great for more in depth studies. It depends on the type of insights you are looking for.

I also think that the participants in their panel tend to skew more tech savvy than the general population. If I want a more representative sample of the general population, I may go for other methods of sourcing research participants.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team supports our company's Incubator. We move really fast and need to get quick feedback on our new product ideas. UserTesting has been very effective at allowing us to get quick usability feedback. We also use the Live Conversations tool when we run our design sprint kickoff so we can quickly interview participants that fit our target persona.

  ### 10. Easy to get quick insights to help inform directions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I love how User Testing takes users' feedback and implements changes to the product to make it more user friendly. I feel like a valued customer! Also, it's a super quick and easy way to get questions answered to help inform decisions or next steps.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

It's expensive. And not all the features are as user friendly as I'd like to have them be. So, it can take more time than necessary to set up a test because there aren't as many short cuts available yet. But, they listen to users and implement changes quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Negotiate the price

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work on a lot of different areas in my company as a user researcher. This platform allows me to democratize research so that product managers and designers feel empowered to learn from consumers and ask questions to inform their work. It also helps us do competitive analyses quickly and usability tests.

  ### 11. Drin’s feedback

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like the way you can test things and interact with it

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I dont like that the ux is kinda difficult for users to understand

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

I recommend using UserTesting to make your experience while using something easier

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You get to test things as a user by not having to get the full experience but only as a demo

  ### 12. An awesome tool to learn from them about all sorts of things, not just usability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The range of the users we can reach out to and the ability to learn about their values and beliefs, not just find out if we have put buttons in the right place.
Great video editing suite

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The way you organise files
Inability to delete or recall research published in error
The fact that only 1 5 second test can be run in any one round of research
The name of your product - it makes people assume they are looking for definitive answers to pass/fail tests. Research is about learning. The name of the tool affects the discourse around the tool and makes it harder to make product and designers think about learning not testing.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

none

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reaching out to customers of competitors
Doing pre-discovery work to determine if there is value in escalating to face to face lab or home visits
Rapid prototyping

  ### 13. Take decision based on real user input in a quick and smart way

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2018

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I really like that I can set up really quickly a couple of interviews or usability tests. I will get results within a day or week, which is super helpful when working on a fast pace company.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I don't really have bad experiences with the product. Sometimes it is hard to get the right poll of users but we got some good pulls from our own users to ask too.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

test the questions at least once (can be not in user testing) to make sure people understand what you are trying to find out. Sometimes what it seems obvious for us might not for all.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We test from high-level hypotheses to small usability input. The scope of the researches is quite broad and people from different departments have access to it.

  ### 14. My experience

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prabhu J. | UI Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Insights gained by user testing is incredible and gives a heads up for fixing problems.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I feel that testing is not very accurate to the real life scenario

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ui problems are one the key things. It helps to keep the customers happy

  ### 15. UX Experience researcher and learner

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

It helps understand user's perspectives of using the design.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

It is time-consuming, and reviews can sometimes come from emotional sight.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps understand the user's perspective and any defaults in the design. Being at an earlier stage of the invention allows companies to tackle the situation before launching the product.

  ### 16. A critical tool in today's world

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devin H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Our Product and Design teams can get near instant validations from our demographics. We can theorize something and confirm or reject it by EoD!

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The price is high, especially for small businesses. Ive been wanting to add the Live Interview feature, seeing as Im a fulltime remote employee, but the price isnt manageable.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Usertesting is an amazing tool if you do not have dedicated researchers, if Product and or Design do the brunt of the in-house research.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly we use UT for small-problem solving: icongraphy, flow, design. Recently we've dug into UT's wide and deem community resources.

  ### 17. Since I’ve used this product i would recommend it

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reaching out to users especially during a time like covid in order to better our company's product

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like user testing for validating ideas. Basically when I need to test my designs to improve them or validate them as valid designs.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I think user testing should always be reviewed carefully to understand the content of the reviewer

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Try to ask as many users as possible to be able to get feedback that is more useful

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Validating ideas is the best solving problem I am getting from user testing

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like how easy it is to set up a test and how I can customize tasks and questions to get the most data.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Data summary isn't the best. You do have to dig into to every response to get the information you want which takes a long time but also does tend to bring issues to light.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Its one of the best users testing tools out there. Their 5 second test is a great starter if you're not ready for a full commit.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use user testing for ways to improve our conversion rate and also test new or existing features on the site. It gives us great insight in how people are using features and what issues they're having.

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The fact that I can test people and get insights about my products as well as give insights to other people. And the fact that I can just send the tests and go to bed and when I wake up I can see the results.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

That I cannot test younger people, and that if I am a seat holder, someone else with the same rights, cannot launch my tests in case I get sick

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

If you need international testing usertesting is really working on that and are really trying to be helpful

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For my company I can really get feedbacks from people that normally we have a hard time getting hold of, as well as international people.

  ### 26. Great platform for conducting user research

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting provides an ample amount of resources on research preparation as well as helping to promote user research in your organization. I've found these resources very helpful in preparing my own studies. Sometimes during test preparation I'll watch a few videos on methods and best practices to gain confidence to try a new method.

The community UserTesting has built is an excellent place to engage with fellow researchers and folks who are also passionate about improving user research in their organization. I enjoy the discussions and often get inspired by discussion topics.

This sense of community is also felt in the monthly Lunch & Learns. It's a great way to hear from leading UX researchers on best practices on a variety of topics.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes I run into technical issues running studies on the platform. Although their customer service is prompt and friendly, I would prefer things to run more smoothly. For example, I've had trouble keeping my availability up to date because past timeslots will remain on the calendar and it'll cause confusion for my participants.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Think about how UserTesting services will fit into your workflow to determine if it's right for your team. UserTesting can be very helpful if you're running a lot of unmoderated tests and need insights fast. The highlight reels can help you deliver those insights to stakeholders instead of painstakingly manually gathering artifacts from past sessions.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Studies are well organized so that I can easily access past sessions. Sessions also have a chat transcription feature which is useful for supplementing my notes. Also when it comes to unmoderated testing it's really helpful to set up studies with Figma files or other materials I plan to present to the participant, and set them up in a secure manner.

  ### 27. Definitely worth trying if you've never used it before

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting is definitely worth trying if you've never used it before. I use it at my current company and I've used it at prior companies also. I've even considered using it for personal side projects. It's great to get quick feedback, whether moderated or unmoderated. 'Quick' could be in the same day.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I feel like I've come across some instances of professional testers who may be to some extent telling you what they think you want to hear, rather than voicing their most natural opinions and reactions.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's great for unmoderated usability studies of prototypes. I'm sure it's good for many other things as well but that's what stands out to me.

  ### 28. I think its good if there are tracker available for real time customer review.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like the review UI part the most because it's easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I wouldn't say I like the time tracking system.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

I think it's best to get the user experience of real-time customers.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me to understand the real-time customer experience, and they are happy to share there valuable feedback.

  ### 29. Provides great qualitative insight for your market research.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ° Sneha B. | Owner and Coach, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Its a great product for Qualititative Research because a number of times Quantitative Research (via surveys etc.) do not give the minute insights that a face to face conversation facilitates. This is a must have for your preliminary secondary research phase because it will help you build a hypothesis for the next stages. The video conversations with the customers were very insightful and the panel that was selected was genuine and very interested in answering questions. Took a lot of work away from my shoulders.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Although all the participants fit the persona that we request, I think we should be allowed to select whom we want to interview. One of the team members got an interviewee who although fit the criteria, didn't have the household situation we were looking for. Some background information will be really helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Its easy to use and you should not have any problems with it. Prepare your questions and hypothesis in advance.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me build hypothesis for the primary research phase, which is extremely complex. There is no way one can enter the primary research phase without having a solid understanding of what the market trends, drivers and expectations are, which UserTesting.com helps with immensely.

  ### 30. Great Platform for Remote Usability testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

It has an extremely quick turnaround time when it comes to recruiting participants for Live Conversations. Their customer service is excellent as well. Always on hand to respond to any issues, questions or concerns that you might have.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Its screener creation tool does not currently support logic. e.g. If XX then YY.... much needed feature. That specific aspect (screener) is also really slow regardless of your PC/browser combo. Dont think the platform is built yet for large scale quantitative studies as well so would use the platform for methods with a smaller "n"

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily using it to conduct usability studies week in week out.

  ### 31. Intuitive and easy to pick up

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting eases communication between clients and users

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

It gets slightly overwhelming sometimes.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some clients disregard the users. The benefits of allowing userTesting is aparent when the clients find out things they have not yet realized about their own product

  ### 32. UserTesting, quickest way to get feedback.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like how it's easy to set up an unmoderated panel. I find that it's super helpful to get feedback on a study fairly quickly.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Copying a previous study. I wish the flow was more intuitive. I also think that the way groups are created for your organization is complicated. For example, I need permissions to be added to a specific group before I can read through my coworkers study.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team is mostly trying to understand how users will perceive the concepts of what we're building. It's great and eye opening to learn how users either resolve or dispute our hypothesis.

  ### 33. Phenomenal service. Helps in so many different ways

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Ability to run quick tests on the fly and see how they perform. Getting real feedback from consumers and being able to see and hear their feedback over video. Extensible to all kinds of user experience design and broader marketing scenarios. It's been particularly helpful with shop conversion questions and videos as well.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Nothing really comes to mind. Really useful too. I especially like how there's a library of templates and then have an ability to create your own custom tests as well.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Website & user experience design problems. TV, Print and Display creative (advertising). Online shop conversion. Mobile App testing

  ### 34. Great tool for remote user testing and democratising research at your company!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael Z. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Fast access to users and fast turn around. It also allows non researchers to get involved in user research. It allows easy gathering of insights across product and design.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

If you're looking for specific niche user groups it might be slow or difficult to get them through usertesting.com. However try to plan around this. If you're looking for participants that are members of for example your company's loyalty scheme plan more time for recruitment.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

I think UserTesting has great capability to be used in conjunction with other tools. Consider adding some qualitative insights to your quantitative card sort via funneling some of the participants to user testing. You can also pilot questionnaire understanding using user testing, I think it's a great tool that can be used to gage whether understanding of concepts about which you're asking in consistent. Also think about how you can include other members of your organisation in research and watching insights. A great way is just sharing the test videos with your stakeholders so that they can watch them in their free time. This promotes great user empathy!

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Usertesting allows me to get signals regarding direction for product development as well as reach users in remote points of sale such as USA or UK. It's also a great tool for democratising easier research projects amongst your product or design teams. This not only can increase your capability for running research but also proactively spread user empathy within your team.

  ### 35. I couldn't do my job without UserTesting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carey W. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Rapid design validation and a fabulous panel of people that don't have any issue speaking their mind.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The only feature I have had an issue with is remembering how to edit an individual video clip within a highlight reel.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've used it to gather insights and establish a baseline of user performance. The biggest benefit has been the increased speed of feedback cycles.

  ### 36. Jenny's UT Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I really like the read aloud and fresh eyes features as they allow me to reach a diverse group of individuals and I can get a more concise answer versus if someone only types a response. User testing also provides nice analytics of questions in an excel export which is really helpful. I also appreciate that on the scaled rating questions, UT allows for unique scales (ex. Least -Most Importance)

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I wish there was more robustness in creating screener questions. As I am not a researcher and do not have much experimental design experience, I struggle with coming up with proper screeners. Sometimes I think people are able to cheat the system. Also, I wish that UT would have a question feature where people can rank multiple choices (ex. place these 5 features in order of importance.)

Sometimes, the transcriptions are a bit clunky so I find myself having to go back through the recordings.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Take advantage of their academy and training videos. They offer a lot of good resources that can help you create better tests and get the most out of the tool.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are getting answers as to the usability or our solution along with feature preference. Our team is very much focused on evidence based experimentation and UT allows us to quickly gain that evidance and then persevere or pivot as necessary. ALso, we have noticed an increased time savings since we do not have to fill out paper work for each UT interview or experiment that we run.

  ### 37. Easy to use, valuable data to share

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wes H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like how easy it is to make comments that align with the video time stamp. In addition, hightlight reels are invaluable for sharing with upper management.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes the clip length is pre-determined and is too long, I then need to go back and adjust it which then requires me to watch the clip a few times to make sure I have the right timestamp.

I also feel like screener questions don't always work well, since there is a big incentive to take a test from the users perspective, they may fudge their answers in the screener. This may just be more diligence on our side to make sure we have the right information.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Try it out - all you need to do is run one test to see the full benefits of it. It sells itself really.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We want to take new pages and products to market, but need to know how the general public will react - that's at a high level. On a more granular level, we are looking to see if people notice, and then think about using some of the features we want to invest time in. We've been surprised more often than not with how people either don't see something we thought was obvious, or find a round about way of achieving a task we set.

We use Hotjar as a recording tool for our live environment, and while we can see people struggle with our live site, we need UserTesting to help fill in the gaps and hear how people might struggle and what they expect should happen. So while we have other "recording tools", UserTesting allows us that direct connection and conversation with customers.

  ### 38. UserTesting positive review!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James R. | User Experience Research Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I love how easy it was to learn the platform of UserTesting, as well as, the terrific support staff UserTesting has. Any questions or issues I have run into have been solutioned in 24 hours (if how faster) . This platform has changed the way our company operates and we have become much more effective with our time!

By receiving real feedback from our users in a timely fashion we are able to make updates and changes to our products much faster which enables us to be more of an agile workspace.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I honestly don't have any major dislikes, I think I would love to see UserTesting provide a little more support or documentation when it comes to explaining what UserTesting actually is to different stakeholders. Sometimes I run into issues where I spend more time explaining what UserTesting actually is rather then reviewing the results with my stakeholders.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Give it a try first, because once you use it you will see just how powerful this tool is and what it can be used for! The UserTesting team is super helpful with demo's and support so I highly recommend giving it a try first. We have been using UserTesting for about 2 years now and absolutely love the product and the community who uses UserTesting is also super receptive to questions and collaboration.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting has given us a foundation of data over hierarchy within the organization. We no longer operate on feelings and opinions and can back our decisions with data and confidence through live interviews, un-moderated testing as well as comparing our competitors products directly against ours.

For example when I am working with stakeholders who have very specific KPI's I am able to test directly against what they are attempting to measure. This has enabled my team to be a number one source of truth for the company and now the Research team has basically been baked into everyones workflow to include us to help teams gather insights.

Additionally, when I am working with Designers who have questions about what they are building - UserTesting allows me to record live interviews and share them with our Designers and Developers to give real feedback directly from the horses mouth. This has sped up our development lifecycle by 3 times at least. Having secondary conversations about doubts or questions surrounding a product has diminished dramatically since we have started using UserTesting.

The best benefit for me using UserTesting is that I am able to generate real data in a same day capacity which is a 1st for us and has enabled us to work much faster and more confidently.

  ### 39. On-demand customer feedback from wherever I work.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hitesh A. | Solutions Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

It's fast, cost-efficient and doesn't burden me with logistics of in-lab testing. I really like the feature to select my target audience and testing platform. Collecting remote customer feedback is particularly useful since it makes the participants have the familiarity and comfort of their own setup. This provides me an accurate display of a user's digital experience as they navigate the tasks of my test. I also like the screener questionnaire since it allows for me to create a more granular target audience for the test.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Access to research studies is hidden for me and I've to reach out to my customer success manager to get started on it. I would like more control in the interface based off my membership.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improving customer conversion rate on the landing page is the biggest problem that I'm solving for. UserTesting helps me put on my customer hat and solve for the gaps that my users are facing.

  ### 40. Big fan!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noel D. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I'm a big fan of using the platform! The ability to capture quick feedback from our target customers couldn't be easier or quicker. You can launch and complete a study in a single day. Or, if you're like me, you can launch a study on a Friday afternoon (while sipping your favorite beverage), and review all the responses on Monday morning (while sipping your favorite coffee). Share the videos with colleagues, or export the results and share with the team. It couldn't be easier.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Most of the time analyzing the results is takes longer than launching the study. There's nothing wrong with that, it just requires time and focus. Watching all of the videos can be a little tedious, but also fairly informative. I'd love a way to get high-level insights quickly and then dig into areas of particular interest or intrigue.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I primarily use UserTesting to get quick feedback from our customers. As mentioned above, launching a study couldn't be easier, and getting results is usually fairly quick. If there was a way to get to insights faster, this would be a grand slam!

  ### 41. Top tool on the market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Detailed and easy-to-understand results. Integration with Jira and Confluence

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Doesn't have integration with Figma. Would be great to implement it soon

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collecting user feedback in an useful way. To receive qualitative insights about our product.

  ### 42. Start-up business greatly benefits from using UserTesting—highly recommend the investment!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting provides fast and actionable results. Our team can make decisions by end of day based on real users!

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There have been a few times that a user has had some technical issues (links not loading, prototypes being frozen), but every time UserTesting has replaced that user.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Get your whole company involved! I've run a few lunch and learns/trainings and the more people are interested, the more they'll want to be involved!

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a multi-channel company, we test a lot! We have an unlimited testing plan so we try to launch a few tests a week for all teams at the company. We've realized our tests have cross-functional impacts. Some common tests:
1) Competitor comparison: how does our site/feature compare to similar companies?
2) Design validation: do people like a design/feature before we build it?
3) What are user's perceptions around non-design things like shipping, pricing, and copy

  ### 43. User friendly and effective

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beatrice F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

the easy interface and the great customer service

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

As a tester, you will get a lot of the same tests even when you have declined it

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Organisations should have clear what their goal is and what do they want to find out with these tests

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a great way to let your websites being experienced by a fresh eye

  ### 44. Simple for users and researchers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I've been able to use it as a user and as a researcher, and I found it easy to use and helpful in the research process.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I do not think I have used it enough to really find things I dislike so far.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to use UserTesting for several types of user tests. It is flexible enough to test in several ways and get feedback on different aspects on the site we were working on. It's been helpful both when we've selected our own testers and when they recruit for us.

  ### 45. A valuable tool for any QA team.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kamron Y. | Affiliate Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Constantly developing and testing customer experience is an absolute must for any eCommerce business - and UserTesting is the first tool that we use for this.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The ability to organize tests could be improved (folders, archiving, group sharing, etc.)

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

UserTesting provides hours and hours of training and upskilling content for you to hone your user-testing. Make sure to utilize these resources and you will maximize the value you get from the platform.

Also, it is a must to stay organized and document all of the tests you run. The information you gather from your tests are not only important in the current, but will also be something to look back at later on down the line for insight.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use UserTesting to run explorative UI/UX research and to test sites before launching new versions (bug tests).

  ### 46. Highly recommend for quick user feedback and easy analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The fast turn around and ability to take notes in the video and create clips.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Piloting the tests are a bit awkward and are not always the most accurate to view. Opening the test and opening the test website to view are difficult when they do not open together.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Make sure to pilot test your tests before launching them!

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used usertesting to validate us design changes and concept testing. Benefits are the quick feedback turn around and screening for specific candidates.

  ### 47. Would recommend to a friend!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

It’s super easy to use and flexible on your own time!

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Really hard sometimes to qualify for the larger scale tests that pay more.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Be sure to make sure to open up feedback with different rounds of users as well as to utilize the A/B function, it was super helpful once we started using it!

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving the problems of consumer research by being able to provide anonymous feedback to different types of brands, businesses and even non profits

  ### 48. Usertesting.com allows for quick turnaround research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan C. | UX Researcher II, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like the ability to create a test, recruit, and have results the same day. This allows me to get feedback to my designers in a quick and informed way.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Many of the participants seem to be "professional" testers, they give great feedback but they are quite a bit savvier than your typical user. There are some ways to get around that, you just have to screen them better or turn on the fresh eyes option so that you don't get the same people over and over.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving UI issues, getting feedback on concepts, and information architecture. I have been able to benefit from Usertesting by giving my team quick and reliable feedback to make decisions on the design that directly impact the user experience.

  ### 49. A Must-Have for Any Company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jillian M. | Associate Analyst IT Production Support, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The intuitive tool guarantees results each time. If you ever need help, the employees in chat are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and will get you the right answer each time.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I wish they had a product that would track success as the testers work through the challenges.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

It should be a no-brainer. This product is easy to use, incredibly reliable and extremely insightful. Our team does not provide any new recommendations without conducting a UserTest.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I primarily work on improving the design and UX of a website. After developing prototypes and drafting initial designs, our team uses UserTesting to gain insights on our ideas. Many times, we will run multiple UserTests to specifically drill down on our objectives or any new information gathered from the test. In the end, we have a data set that we can present to our larger team to make an informed decision about website changes.

  ### 50. Easy way to get feedback from users, take notes, and get feedback about new features fast.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

How fast the results are. They are back within 10 minutes.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes the UX is hard to navigate for users. Or, we will have one test out and realize their is a minor issue that would affect all tests. Maybe not releasing all of the tests at once?

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building out new product features and seeing if users can onboard to financial products with our flows. Is it user friendly? Does the order make sense?
