## UserTesting Reviews
  ### 1. Supports scaling and accelerating research for a small research org

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlotte M. | UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I work on a team of 2 researchers for a B2B company. It used to be incredibly difficult for us to recruit end users of our product, but UT has really sped up and helped with that process. It has also helped us speed up getting insights on prototypes by making use of the unmoderated testing function. I love how flexible UT.com is and have used it for a variety of methods, even using it to run a Diary Study. They also have incredible support and resources

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Recruiting specific B2B profiles can be hard. I also find that there are often some fraudulent participants in tests, however UT.com does a great job of replacing the session or refunding your credits if the quality of the insight is not what you need it to be. I wish I could have a bit more visibility into who's taking the screener and those that are close matches, if not 100% matches.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting is solving the problem of recruitment and synthesizing live sessions into insights. It has helped us as a small team increase the number of requests we can handle and has freed up our time for more in-depth studies while we can rely on UT.com to help us get great usability insights from their unmoderated capabilities.

  ### 2. UserTesting for UX Research

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

It was easy to select the demographic criteria, set up a screener, and launch a study to get feedback on our product from either actual users or users who fit the demographic of our users.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I would like to know where users are getting rejected on the screener and be able to adjust the questions to get enough participants for each study. Sometimes it's hard to right the participant that fits our demographic or find actual users.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting helps us test out prototypes for our product or new features for our product before we build them. This ensures that not only can users use our product and it meets their needs, but we don't waste time making the wrong thing to spend dev time and money fixing it later.

  ### 3. Simple to use, very intuitive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2023

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Clip selection is straghtforward and efficient

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Hoping to expand the pool of participants to be more inclusive (I know they are working on this)

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The easy selection of participants allows me to test prototypes and to get rich feedback

  ### 4. UT has been an invaluable resource to our team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zaina A. | UX Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UT has not only made it easy to recruit participants from all over the world - they have also eliminated users not paying attention to surveys / questions etc. Users on UT are invested in helping us make the best products.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There are a few small changes such as the ability to edit a test after launching it (i.e., editing filters) however this is a very small request for a platform that allows so much flexibility

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UT has helped me test designs fast and efficiently with real potential users. This has been a great benefit that has improved many of our products

  ### 5. Good for gen pop surveys

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like that it's so easy to access gen pop panel if I need to do a quick survey on gen pop topics such as travel. Panel for gen pop I think is good in N.America and decent in Europe

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Professional respondents. Respondents who lie about their background and role just to get a survey

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned, when I need quick surveys from gen pop on general topics

  ### 6. Fast and Efficient User Research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The platform is extremely easy to use and there are tons of helpful resources to get you started. I have used both the moderated and unmoderated functionality and both work great. The times that I have had to reach out to support for help, they have been extremely quick and helpful.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There is some functionality that I wish it had, like better randomization capability within the test and more customization in places. There are also times that some things are just slow to load or don't load properly on the analysis side of things.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to increase both the number of tests that we complete and the speed at which we can complete those tests. Since we are a very small research team, this has allowed us to work with more design teams throughout the company and integrate research into their processes more effectively.

  ### 7. Great insights, delivering great value at great speed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan W. | Senior Design Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

So you want insights and you want them fast, UserTesting can do that. If you want unmoderated and moderated options, UserTesting can do that too. If you want something that you can use alongside your existing tooling, guess what, UserTesting can do that.

It's a one-stop shop in the best possible way. Is it cheap, not particularly; but you get what you pay for, and in this case you get quality.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

No matter how hard you try, occasionally you'll get a bad egg come through. Is that UserTesting's fault? No, but it's still frustrating! I suppose I could be that guy and say that I would like a dark mode, maybe there is one and I just haven't seen it?

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used UserTesting in three of the four companies I've worked with, and I've been using the tool since before the pandemic. During the lockdowns it came into it's own with the ability to connect to people anywhere and at any time. This has proved valuable even when we are able now to get out to places that were previously blocked off from us.

  ### 8. Great way to earn extra cash!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kimberly T. | ALPHA Mentor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I love that this is an easy income earned from home! Each test taken allows you to earn no less than $10. Sometimes you can make up to $60 depending upon whether the test involves a video chat with applicable personnel.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Opportunities are only offered if you qualify based on their criteria and what you do for a living. Each user is directed to complete assessments to see if they qualify for a test. I feel as though individuals in IT or other high-demand areas have greater access to tests.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

User testing allows other companies to see how efficient and effective their websites are. We review how user-friendly each site is and give input as to what could be done better.

  ### 9. I've been a customer with UT since 2013, that about says it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2023

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

How easy and fast I can complete research studies. Two things, the customer support is great.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Since I work for an international fortune 200 company there are times when I wish the contributor pool in other countries was larger.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I quickly get the voice of the user to help guide the team in decision-making.

  ### 10. Easy way to earn pocket money with your basic english knowledge

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haritha C. | Digital Marketing Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I have been a contributor in usertesting since 2 years. Initially I believed it was just like all other fraud websites. But gradually I got several website and mobile application tests from usertesting. Now I am able to earn a decent amount of pocket money by just giving decent reviews or opinions for websites or mobile applications.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

As compared to previous usertesting platform I wasn't able to receive tests based on my demographic details. All test which I am receiving now is outside of my interests and therefore I am unable to qualify in order to proceed further.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A part from earning I can improve my skills in UI UX part by reviewing websites and mobile applications from various niche. I am a beginner in UI and UX designing, so it is quite a common thing to make mistakes when it is a beginning. This platform is a great opportunity for such beginners as there is no such limitation in talking about the prototype.

  ### 11. Intuitive, easy learn, easy to do analysis.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Intuitive, works well for my tasks and research questions.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Not completely confident in the audience sometimes. They dont take their tasks very seriously all the time

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feedback on early screens and short flows. Helping PM figure out what concepts and features they need to include in their specs

  ### 12. Earn Rewards with your feedback

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The best thing I like about Usertesting is that we just have to open its website on our computer and whenever any test comes it just makes a sound to let us know that we can take a test which is great. Also it pays the amount in our Paypal account in 7 days which makes it the best platform.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

- Many times we can not open our computer for the whole day just to wait for any test/ study to arrive, usertesting should also send emails to use whenever any test or study arrive which will save our time because then we don't have to checkthe dashboard of usertesting every few minutes.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever we give a test/ study in usertesting we are eligible for a monetary reward which is later on credited to our bank account with help of PayPal. With Usertesing we help business to make their product or service better for their consumer.

  ### 13. VEry easy to setup and use. Prompt repsonses received to glean insights.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2023

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Settting up te test / study was very easy.Received responses very quickly to help us gain menaingful insights.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There is nothing I've disliked. It was really easy to use.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us define the right problem to solve for our target demographic.

  ### 14. I can't imagine doing my job without it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diana K. | Staff Product Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The speed at which I can set up tests and review the feedback

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Lack of an inclusive network,or a group of people who are neurodiverse or have disability issues and sign up for user testing and self identify

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps our team narrow down if we're solving the customer problem in a beneficial way or if we're way off mark

  ### 15. UserTesting is an amazing platform with amazing customer support.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeannie V. | Sr UX/UI Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I've been using the platform for almost two years now and it's been an amazing tool and resource to have. The platform is intuitive, always improving, and best of all finds users relevant to our customer base very quickly.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There is little I dislike about the platform but the cost is definitely a premium. Overall I feel we are getting our money's worth.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting allows us to work directly with our users to validate UX and design concepts, test features, and understand our customers at a much deeper level.

  ### 16. Comprehensive solution for user testing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting's moderated user study option is a robust tool that allows you to set up and conduct tests all from the platform with the help of Zoom. The experience is seamless and makes testing super easy. I love that it helps me schedule my tests and conduct them easily before providing video recordings of the sessions where I have tools like note taking and video-clipping to help organize my data.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

UserTesting's unmoderated testing option is great but it doesn't compare to the option of some tools where a data analyst team synthesizes your test data for you. If you want to synthesize the data yourself then UserTesting has a great platform to help you do that, but I find that this process is very time-consuming and I'd rather opt for solutions where a team will do this for me.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting solves the problem of needing various tools and equipment for user testing. Everything can be done right in their platform, with the help of Zoom, to conduct both moderated and unmoderated tests. I find their platform to be more modern than other options and very easy to use.

  ### 17. Understand the voice of the user

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donna Y. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

In general, set up is really quick and straightforward. There's a high volume of users which is super important and nice so that we can get insights quickly. Generally, the interviews I've had have been meaningful and useful.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I do find some of the users are still a little confused when they try to click through prototypes.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Do it! The insights are worth it.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're learning more about how users approach the tools we supply them and whether upcoming features/changes have good qual feedback. It's been really great as we update our understanding and experiences according to the feedback we get.

  ### 18. Extremely easy to use - a great source of feedback

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alicia C. | UX Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The admin takes care of organizing and recruiting participants for tests - canceled sessions are taken care of and rescheduled which makes my life easier. Also, I love the customizability of tests and the different type of tests I can run with ease through the platform.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Cancellation emails sometimes come late and it's frustrating when participants are no shows, but there's nothing that can really be done in that case.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily connects us to users and makes it so easy to get feedback from a specific audience. Everything is very intuitive, it's easy to filter users, and I'm able to get responses straight from the horse's mouth.

  ### 19. Our Teams are Now Thinking Differently About Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen P. | Product Marketing Supervisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

We needed a quick solution to capture customer feedback as we redesigned our website before the pandemic hit—and we were so grateful to have UserTesting moving forward. Not only were we able to gather input affordably in a few hours—helping us stay relevant each step of the way—but we also noticed that using the tool inspired a shift in mindset across teams. Stakeholders now inquired about the experience rather than simply rolling out a solution. UserTesting provides a tool to create and share highlight reels with our teams, and often watch these highlight reels together to learn more about the "why" behind the behavior. UserTesting offers a supportive CommUnity of users to ask questions or to participate in training opportunities.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There is little that we dislike about UserTesting. Highlight reels are gated behind the portal, so we often upload the videos to Google Drive and share highlight reels through Slack to make sure that access can be easily achieved throughout the company.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

There is a CommUnity of active users for UserTesting that are available to provide best practices, and this community also offers training and networking. Joining this community is an absolute must for users and admin!

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use UserTesting to test our marketing materials—both print and digital—to improve how we present our offerings to different segments. The feedback we received directly impacted how we structured the messaging in our catalog, our website, and our conference materials. The speed at which we have received feedback has provided opportunities that we haven't had before, such as initiating an iterative process when building landing pages.

  ### 20. Quick user feedback, lots of functions, great support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting makes research quick and easy, especially when targetting US contributors. The platform has many functions to help increase efficiency and I absolutely love the live chat support. They are super quick and have always been able to solve my problem within minutes!

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The European contributor pools need to be expanded to fully capitalize on all the functions that UserTesting offers. If I cannot recruit enough participants, I cannot use all the cool functions

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to reach contributors from across the country and abroad, it enables remote testing during the pandemic, and saves us time on recruiting and administrative tasks

  ### 21. Good Platform to run unmoderated test with user.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lorena M. | UX consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

It`s a great tool to run unmoderated tests. This platform allows taking metrics, and task times. The user videos have good quality. The testing setup is easy to do and very fast, if you know about user testing.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There are two things that I dislike.
The first one it's a very expensive platform for Latinamericans companies.
The other is the platform doesn't have Spanish speakers users.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem is the recruitment of the users. Another problem that solves me is the gathering of the information for the tests. The reports are very easy to understand and share with the stakeholders.

  ### 22. best platform to connect developers and consumers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandeep R. | Internet judge, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Usertesting allocates feedback tests to its testers according to their area of expertise and working domain. Both developers and contributors get mutually benefitted (developers get honest reviews from people who actually use the products or who are prospective consumers, while testers get paid well for their time and quality of review). I have been a contributor on usertesting platform for over an year and it has been a great experience the way along.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The only thing I dislike or like being improved on the platform is quicker back-end team's support while tests are running. Right now, all a contributor can do is report any trouble and then wait for support to get back in a day or two. This comes at the cost of letting go of a test in the middle.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

I recommend entirely usertesting to people who want to make better use of their free time to make some quick money and also to developers who want their prototypes to be genuinely reviewed and feedbacked.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Usertesting helps me utilize my free time in something constructive while making some quick bucks. It feels good to contribute for the betterment of a product or service which I might actually use.

  ### 23. A must have UX Research Tool for Mature UX Orgs.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

When your user population is easy to find, UserTesting allows you to run unmoderated studies in less than a day. I appreciate how easy the screener is to set up and how intuitive it is to set-up a study. Even more than that, the abi.ity to connect with a support person at a moments notice saves me so much time!

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Their new cost structure is prohibitive to large organizations - while it benefits those who do their own recruits, it penalizes those of us who use it for their expansive panel.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

To get the most out of UT ensure your user population is represented on the panel.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the world of covid - keeping researchers and participates safe through virtual research studies makes the work easier. Once the pandemic is over, UT also allows us to be in many places at once, saving us time and travel.

**Official Response from Anissa Alvarez:**

> We couldn’t agree more that UserTesting is a “must have” solution.

Thousands of other companies agree with you that saving time and travel costs over traditional recruiting is a significant part of the value of UserTesting. On average, >80% of tests conducted on the UserTesting platform are completed in about 2-hours. Certain hard-to-find audiences can take longer.

UserTesting’s flexible pricing model is designed to scale depending on your team’s needs. One tip is to contact UserTesting’s world-class Professional Services team to assist with complex or difficult studies. You can also find recruiting tips and best-practices in the UserTesting University, CommUnity discussion forums, Human insight User Groups (HUGs), UserTesting webinars, and award-winning support team.

  ### 24. Flexible tool for market research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The platform is effective for evaluative and generative research. It has the flexibility to be used for multiple styles of research. It is also an excellent tool for democratizing research activities around a larger organization.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The automated semantic analysis and video clipping is useful, but has a long way to go. I still prefer using the tool in combination with a specialized analysis workspace. But for many applications/contexts, it could certainly be an end to end solution.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting with end users and quickly getting their responses in unmoderated asynchronous manners.

  ### 25. Fast and easy User testing service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

- How quickly it is to create a test plan and send it out. I can get 5 user tests with specific screening questions within the hour!
- I really like how screener questions I have previously used are saved - saves alot of time

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Some features aren't perfect - e.g. Instant highlight reels sometimes do not play properly / the sound goes out of sync, but that is only a small problem.
In terms of improvements, some features aren't as clear - e.g. can I edit screener questions after sending out the test to one contributor?

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Definitely worth getting a subscription if you want your product to be easily usable!

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly problems related to product development - How usable is our product? Also a lot of discovery research to generally understand how users feel about the product. This has been really helpful to inform our design practices

**Official Response from Anissa Alvarez:**

> Thank you for your recommendations!

The resource linked below explains how you can edit saved screener questions from the Template Library or by going back to a previously launched test. You can also schedule a "Quick connect" to ask clarifying questions about our features and how best to use them!

  ### 26. Use UserTesting to make your design practice truly design first

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** anna b. | Sr ux researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

User testing has by far the best panel out there

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes user testing doesn't feel like they have user tested their own software

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sourcing study participants is by far my biggest problems and user testing solves that with their excellent panel

  ### 27. Amazing tools, no pricing that works for a startup

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nancy B. | Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Advisory Board, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Record tests with product that have both web and mobile, survey, large pool of testers. We also need the ability to use our own testers, that was a different product however that we couldn't trial.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The pricing doesn't work for a pre-seed startup, so we switched to another service which had the above and the ability to user our own testers at a price we could afford on a Pay per test plan. A pre-seed startup can't afford $20K plus a year plus pricing, there should be a pay per user plan, similar to their competition.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We test all major changes to our user interface plus any areas where we we get support calls or dropoff. We love the ability to video record the users face as well as their screen to inform our designs.

  ### 28. usertesting is a great tool for generating insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like how quickly ut.com helps get participants for our tests with its robust contributor networks. The synthesis page was also easy to navigate and generate insights. It is a helpful tool that makes our research process efficient.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes it could be hard to get the exact contributors we want.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly finding participants for us and it can refund users that are disqualified. it makes our jobs as researchers much easier

  ### 29. Easy to use, delivers great results

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Building Materials | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I love how easy it is to create and edit a test. The results come back so fast and allows the project to stay on track.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes we have really small target audience and can be hard to find end users.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is ensuring we get customer insights before launching a product or solution. This saves us time once the product is launched.

  ### 30. This company has covered all its bases

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liz P. | Experience Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting not only provides you with the tools to perform your user research and usability testing, but they educate you on best practices and how to use minute but powerful features within the platform.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I have some navigation issues when using UserTesting University. After finishing a course within a list, I'm not taken back to the list I was on and have to navigate back to the list I was on before starting the next course.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been out of practice with user research and while we're in the middle of our design cycle, it will be a valuable asset in determining where our baseline solutions sit. This will drive the direction for all future solutions and enhancements.

  ### 31. If you don’t have a large users database, this will help you!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mylane D. | Product Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

User Testing provides different ways of UX Research, and there are ready-to-use scripts that will help you to do moderated or unmoderated tests fast. The interface is clean and intuitive. Once someone has finished your test, you receive an email notification and can watch the video and put some notes on the site for specific parts of the recording. It really helps me to get answers from users from different backgrounds in a fast and accurate way.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I've never tried to do moderated tests because all User Testing is in English, and our users are native Portuguese speakers, so this could be friction at the begging of the test. Another thing's the lack of a feature to categorize the results of tests but it's just a tiny detail.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

User Testing helps me get answers and feedback from people from different places, backgrounds, genders, and ages. Also with the advent of the pandemic of Covid-19, it was fantastic to have a tool to schedule, find users and record the sessions on just one site!

  ### 32. UserTesting is a great platform for leveraging UX maturity and gathering customer insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Gambling & Casinos | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The interface and ease of use. There are so many features, a great community and webinars for endless learning. Courses are also tailored so that the platform is not only useful to researchers but marketing, designers, and stakeholders too.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Nothing really, sometimes the recruiting and seats system can be a pain to work out research ops wise. Also, but that's not on them, the platform is so well known both from companies and also from participants that you can tell the participants are used to giving usability feedback. But overall you always get great insights and it changes everything for business decisions.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Try everything they can offer because they have such a wide range of services it's actually more than just a testing platform

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving very product orientated problems, such as navigation and usability but also accessibility. And where's solving strategic more holistic problems as well. The benefits of User Testing is that you can get very quick access to customers, you run studies very quickly and get something to share to your stakeholders that will make them pay attention.

  ### 33. Eases the burden of user recruitment and gives formative feedback

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

As a team of one the responsibilities of recruitment, panel management, and incentive distribution would normally consume a fair chunk of my day. With the UserTesting platform managing those processes I can move on to other things. I find great value in having a single source to target demographics and the overall depth of contributers to select from. The UI is friendly, and the metrics/outputs are aligned with what I believe the majority of researchers are looking for.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I can appreciate the attempts to offer card sorting and tree testing templates, though the detail of feedback and visual information is not as robust as outsourcing to Optimal Workshop. With iterative improvements these templates/UI"s could definitely level up to meet or exceed the competition.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anything from preference testing products and features to content comprehension to usability studies. Most recently we've been focused on information architecture to help improve content organization behind login. It's been crucial to have real-time or almost real-time feedback to inform design decisions. Having the voice of the customer/user tends to make those decisions easier with greater buy-in across departments and key stakeholders.

  ### 34. Ideal for Consumer Feedback but Also Works for B2B Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

A seamless tool that allows me to set screening criteria templatize it for reuse (and democratization), recruit participants quickly, synchronize moderated tests with my calendar, and handle the compensation.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The two most significant drawbacks I've seen are pretty universal across most tools in this space: 1) there are a decent number of "cheaters" who just want to be part of a test and misrepresent themselves (need to get crafty with screening questions to counter this--but UserTesting also makes rating them low easy) and 2) getting a very specific / niche B2B user can be a challenge due to limited sample pool here.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting.com is helping us further increase the democratization of research within our organization while ensuring consistent quality through both screener and test templates. It also speeds up the process of recruiting and compensating research participants.

**Official Response from Anissa Alvarez:**

> I'm happy to hear UT has helped you increase the democratization of research within your org! Your right, screener questions can be tricky when it comes to structuring them to find the right contributors. We have a Human Insight User Group discussion coming up to address that with our customers. If you would like an invitation, feel free to email me! aalvarez@usertesting.com

  ### 35. Great tool for UX Researchers!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I love how fast it is! It helps us run research quickly and effectively.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

They are working on building up new features that we don't currently have access to (ex. survey tools, repository). The card sorting feature could use improvement but I understand it's being worked on.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Have fun with it!

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us get quick feedback on generative research and we also use it to get feedback on prototypes we want to test

  ### 36. Remote testing has added scale to our research efforts with ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex J. | Lead Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Usertesting's speed to insight makes it our platform of choice. We trialed several similar products, but in terms of features and panel quality, Usertesting was head and shoulders above the rest.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Comms around changes to features could be better. We're often notified of new cool features, but sometimes features we use frequently are changed or even sometimes removed - it would be nice to know if the feature has been removed or moved elsewhere.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Ensure you understand each of the features offered within each package. We quickly realized that additional elements from other packages (e.g. bring your own users) would have been beneficial.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Usertesting is allow us to discover user problems we were otherwise unaware of, and then validate solutions against those problems. Usertesting allows us to do this quickly and easily.

  ### 37. Easy Studies!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristina P. | Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

This is one of the best platforms I have ever used. You are able to apply for so many studies and they seem to come in through out the day consistly. They also have a lot of different pay-out amounts.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I don't like that you have apply for a lot to try and qualify for so few of opportunities. I do think they should have a lot more studies that are greared towards the average person. They seem to have a lot that are geared towards software engineers.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are finding out what consumers want from us especially our clients. It is very important to know what clients are thinking and feeling about what they are getting from us.

**Official Response from Anissa Alvarez:**

> Thank you so much for this 5-star review. We really appreciate you being a customer and helping to share the word about us.

  ### 38. Useful way to generate insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The thing I liked the most was that each test allowed me to earn money, the amount depends on the kind of test.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes, it seems to you that you are a good fit for the criteria for a particular opportunity but still might not get it.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Companies can find outsiders to review their product for them, providing insights that are usually different from the existing user pool that they might have.

  ### 39. Experience with the tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Liked the tools and smart tag feature and create clips

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Nothing so far to complain, good experience

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Help me get instant customer feedback and video of user interviews

  ### 40. Intutive and simple

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Platform has good set of users whose insights are much valuable while performing research

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Inability to perform A/B testing of prototypes - It sometimes doesnt provide quantitative insights required for Product managers directly in required format

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Generate insights from end users by testing various prototypes

  ### 41. Great for finding test users as well as using with your own users

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick L. | UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

It is really easy to find people to test with. Most of the users are really good and provide helpful information. Scheduling interviews is easy and UserTesting records all the interviews, so that cuts out quite a lot of extra steps. The scheduling is really easy and UT sends out reminder emails, so very few participants cancel or are no-shows. The videos are easy to export as well.

It uses Zoom and since just about everybody is on Zoom, that makes life easier.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

It definitely has some usability issues. It's not the more UX-minded platform. The dashboard is not great, kind of boring, and it easily gets chaotic if not properly managed. . If you use a shared account, only one person can be logged in at a time otherwise you get booted when the next person logs in. This is particularly problematic because when you click log in, it automatically logs you in with the most recent account you used. So if you have a shared account, you must always log out after each session or risk booting a teammate.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

If you need to find test participants, this is a really great resource. Depending on your account, UT even handles all of the incentive payouts.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for usability tests, general user and non-user interviews, A/B testing, surveys. Pretty much our entire UX research is done through UserTesting. We use it to schedule and conduct interviews with our users.

  ### 42. Robust funtions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I love the additional option to do moderated sessions with real users. You can talk to them over zoom so you can see their face expression and follow-up to get any clarification n questions. It saves time from having to recruit users. These folks are also usually experienced in user testing so I don't have to explain as much. For the non moderated tests, it transcribes the user talking out loud which is very helpful and links to each question you asked so it's easy to skip around.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

We do a lot of tests, you can move things into folders but I feel like there should be a better way to sort or search tests. It's very hard to find an old user testing session because I can't remember the exact name I named the session.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

This is a bit expensive but worth it if you do a lot of testing because it's a flat rate. You save time and money but not having to recruit eligible participants and schedule testing sessions.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves a lot of time by not having to recruit users. The tests also fill up super quickly. There are screener questions you can ask to make sure it's the right demographics. It's not a cost per test so it relives the pressure of making the perfect test and allows iterative user testing.

  ### 43. Amazing Tool to get real insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha H. | Associate Digital Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like the fact that you can get fast actionable intel from real world users. We use this tool to make design decisions on a regular basis.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The only feature I wish was expanded was the amount of testers you can have at any one time.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Userability for website redesign or design in general. We have been able to allow our design team to continue to innovate while also getting real feedback from our demographic

  ### 44. Great for detailed research and live insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I most use their nifty tagging system alongside the transcript in highlighting the most valuable insights

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes it is a hassle in creating, locating and downloading clips in an intuitive way. Searching for general insights across the whole platform can be a challenge (that is where a solid tagging system comes in).

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Make sure you fully understand how the account is setup as well, if your ready to go you just want to start doing research :)

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making our users visible, and audible to our stakeholders.

  ### 45. Great platform for UX/UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Once you launch your test, you get feedback in less than an hour (my target is not too narrow which also helps)

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

If I am watching a video and x out, when I go back to login to the platform to perform another task, it takes me back to the video and won't let me go to my dashboard

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

I would evaluate other platforms before deciding, UserTesting works for our company compared to others we have used.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We test new features on prototypes and get feedback before we fully create the new feature. BENEFIT: Create meaningful features that users like.

  ### 46. One of the best out of the bunch

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew G. | Senior Business Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

It easily connects a skilled group of users and researchers together to be able to extract insights. It really takes the challenges of organizing meetings out of the picture and enables simplicity and transparency about pricing and expectations.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There are times where there can be bugs. One issue I have had was usertesting sanctioned video meeting was laggy despite perfect connections on both sides. Sometimes tests can glitch for the user and there are times when interviews can glitch and not allow users to apply.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are so many different types of research applications available on the market. This is the first one that has been straight forward, integrated and seamless. It saves a lot of time and money to do it this way rather than the conventional way.

  ### 47. THE Flagship Usability Testing Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James H. | Director, Product Design & UX, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The ease of use is incredible, and lead time to insights has been something we've been leveraging a lot in all of our latest product releases from just basic concept testing to sniffing out the largest usability issues with our features.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

One thing that's not great is that there are definitely participants that take advantage of the system and try to speed through. Occasionally we'll get participants like that but UT has been great in swapping those sessions out for new ones.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ensure all features we release make sense to our users and don't cause confusion. We've been able to tease out the core needs of our members as well as our prospects using Usertesting. It's been great for measuring usability of design solutions and gathering sentiment around different initiatives we're pursuing.

  ### 48. My go to platform to perform quick and thorough user tests

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elior H. | Senior Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2022

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The ability to set a specific audience, and since UserTesting has a wide range of testers, I am always able to find testers.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

It could take time to recruit users when you are aiming for a narrower audience, but that is natural.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Usability testing, user research, surveys

  ### 49. An invaluable tool for game designers and developers.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ziv K. | Director of Product Management and BizDev, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

We love the fact that the ML tool finds and pinpoints the places in the video where players had positive or (more important to us) negative feedback. This allows us to save time and find valuable information from the testing.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There's little not to love in the service. Some tools like conducting multiple tests with the same people could be easier to use.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Use the tutorials, research and materials the site offer to better use the service.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With usertesting we can quickly improve the most important part of the games: the first few interactions players have with it. By nailing that we can make sure we give the right impression to the right kind of players.

  ### 50. Good experience so far

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2021

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

User testing makes it incredibly convenient to run moderated and unmoderated user tests. I particularly like the study templates that allows my team to build user studies quickly and not redesign each user study from scratch (e.g., Usability test, concept feedback, etc.).

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

My team has only been using it for about two months, so we are not experts. Our major pain point is having to export User Testing study results for a summary in other tools. User Testing has a pretty good way of summarizing qualitative studies in their built-in insights tab. However, it's still limited in scope, especially in our multi-method studies that use quantitative data (from Qualtrics surveys, for example). Those multi-method studies require us to patch together a bunch of disparate data sources (User testing included) to complete a holistic research study.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are getting end-user feedback quickly for websites and mobile apps.
