You can integrate the Userful Visual Networking Platform easily with your new or old displays. Installing and configuring the server flows easily. My experience for the administrative interface is really intuitive and comfortable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Earlier versions weren't so stable as from 2018. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Capable of accessing and controlling the application over cloud, even compatible with mobile phone anywhere from the world. Preset your configurations, either program to follow the schedule or update, modify on the fly to impress anyone watching the screen current. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Would have been much better if there is only one exclusive access to the tool at a time, even with multiple user accounts associated with the account. If a user controls the application, any other user on the account can intentionally or accidentally change the display on fly, which is not so welcomed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our original use case for the platform changed drastically over the course of the following 3 years. Initially serving as static digital signage, we have leveraged it in a variety of ways to produce the results that we needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Improvements have been made since this originally arose, but we had some problems with the web UI and configuring the displays to orient in the unique way that our setup required. We no longer have issues after the help of support and some changes that came to the management console. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The low total cost of ownership for such a high tech solution is what I liked best. Userful not only met all of the project requirements but did so at a fraction of the cost that was being quoted from other video wall solution providers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My only complaint is that the software is Linux only, I would have preferred multiple operating system options to choose from. Even though Linux wasn't my first choice it is an enterprise-grade operating system with plenty of documentation available, so even though I disliked the OS it was a breeze to install, setup, and configure. Being able to provide an internet station to a library patron without fear of viruses and the privacy afforded by personal information being wiped after each session. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The third party self-pay printing software that comes with Userful is often buggy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A) usage of the software is so easy and comfortable
B) service is extraorinary in terms of technical support and application consulting Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
no dislikes at all, we are totally happy with it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Userful is a great system for digitizing your school. We have been able to transform our building for digital communication at a low cost. The flexibility of the Userful devices allows us to use the same system for individual display or for display walls. This allows our digital display dollars to go further and thus allowing us to invest in a more robust digital display environment.
Another great feature for education is the ability to allow multiple groups to control their own content. The remote access features from Userful allow one system to have an environment where there can be multiple contributors to the maintenance of the digital displays. In an environment where there is not a budget for display maintenance, the ability to delegate the display responsibility is a great feature.
Schools are not thought to be a technology display hub. However, as students become more adapt at technology, they expect the way they are communicated to to become more technology based. Posters and flyers do not demand enough attention to make students read them. Powerful displays can be used to build school culture, keep students aware of school events and provide an overall positive school experience for students.
Above all, the ease of use, ease of setting stuff up and the customer support are the best part of Userful. In no time, we were able to full implement our screens and get our building on-line. When we did have any problems, Userful staff was very helpful and resolved our issues very quickly.
It has been a great addition to our school and we are continuing to explore how we can continue to grow the use of this very powerful solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At this point there is not anything we have found that we did not like about this product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We used the system for a 4 x 3 TV wall for a developer client of ours. The client supplied the Useful system and we supplied the TV's, built wall and provided an integrated control platform for it all. The system was intuitive and easy to set up it performed perfectly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Could be 4K and also provide and RS232 / IR control interface for turning TV's etc.. on/off etc.. . That could already be in the works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Installation was literally plug-n-play, installation was the same as if I were installing a smart TV. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The mounting hardware wasn't as flexible as I'd like, the mounting position was limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The platform is easy to manage and works well. Any time we've had a problem, the support team is wonderful and always super helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside I can really think of is with the Linux platform, there are occasionally features or programs that patrons would like that we don't have, but the zero client terminals are amazing for all the basic programs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Working with Userful has been an outstanding experience. We have used them for over 10 years for our public computing needs. We are a library that offers public computers to our patrons. Not having to worry about virus issues is invaluable as we average 1500 + sessions a month. The hardware and software has little to no issues-it just works. However, when an issue does arise, Userful has top notch support to get you back up and running quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No real dislikes here. You get a quality product at a great price with little to no issues. Out patrons enjoy the service and it's such a benefit to have it run as well as it does. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The userful GUI and accessibility is second to none. Customer service is outstanding. There hasn’t been a problem that they haven’t been able to fix over the phone, with patience and grace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Support contracts are a bit high, but customer support is outstanding so understandably worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like the customer and technical support. Anytime we have a problem, Userful Support gets right on it. The UI is also very user friendly. Userful also has great features for Content Filtering. Being a public library, with public computers, we have had difficulty in the past with patrons visiting innapropriate websites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The system does not support Adobe products at this time. Sometimes updates take a long time to implement and bugs are very common that break certain features. Though these bugs are usually fixed very quickly. Sometimes our content filters get deleted randomly and we have to go back in and fix it manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Userful is an extremely powerful application for managing your video screens. If you can dream it, Userful can probably do it. It's user friendly enough that you can accomplish the basics without too much trouble, but advanced enough that you can do a lot of cool things with it - if you're willing to put in the effort. To be honest, I can't imagine what we would've done without Userful when we made our video wall a couple years ago. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Support times are a bit slow when I have questions. That being said, they are very helpful once they do get back to me. I would also say that Userful is a bit complicated to set up initially. It's not something most people can do on their own. I had an entire IT team helping me plan the video wall, purchase hardware, and configure the networking - and it still took us a couple months to finish it. If you're not at least somewhat comfortable with TV and network hardware, I wouldn't recommend trying to set this up on your own without some help from someone knowledgeable in these areas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very use to install and configure. It is a highly customizable solution with all kind of inputs to display (cctv, web, shell terminal). We currently have a 8-station videowall used by our NOC/SOC team and we are very satisfied with this decission, saving a lot of money from competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Only a few HP servers are supported so you cannot use any server to install userful software or you loose support. Presets must allow post-functions to reconfigure any web with credentials, terminals with scripts executed automatically in order to be faster to change presets dinamically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about the Userful solution is it's flexibility and scalability. Providing access to controlling the content from any web browser is very empowering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing I dislike about the Userful platform is that it can not distribute HDCP protected sources and it never fails that the end user wants to incorporate cable tv as a source. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Vorort Demo und Unterstützung waren uns sehr wichtig. Das hat sehr gut funktioniert.
Dachte erst wird schwierig mit einer Übersee Firma aber das hat super geklappt.
Denn etwas Support ist dann doch notwendig. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Das warten auf notwendiges Updates schon etwas länger für unsere LG Monitore Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Userful has a great web UI that is very easy to navigate through. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At times I would experience issues when changing a group of TV's to a different source. The group of TV's would freeze and sometime an entire reboot of the Userful server was needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Excellent customer service, easy for patrons to use. The stations work very fast and are reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Overall we haven't had any problems. Could possibly be a little easier to customize the user experience for patrons, but not that big a deal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It took us about 30 min to load the software and get the product up and running. That was only because we didn't go through any tutorials. It was very easy to figure out. Things just make sense when you look at the software dashboard. I really like the fact that you can use whatever hardware you want. The product is very open. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only issue we had with Userful was getting the application to only display during a set period of time. There is a setting so you can choose when the displays turn on and off, but for some reason our system would not do it. I believe it was a hardware problem because when we upgraded the hardware, the issue went away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Product now comes with Large Print which is great for library patrons eyes! The security for young patrons is outstanding. Customer support fast and easy and helpful. Products are easily monitored from my desktop, I can add time to users without all the other steps in the past. I would buy this again and highly recommend it to others looking for such a platform! Userful is an outstanding solution and a great company! Great value for all that it offers! A+ and 5 stars definitely! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Absolutely nothing. I am using all aspects of this product and no complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We've had the Userful system setup in our office and running for over 2 years now and we've been very pleased with the performance, stability, and support. The interface is easy to use, support has been responsive when needed, and overall it's been a solid, reliable setup for our office. I would certainly recommend Userful if you're looking for a system to display content simultaneously across multiple devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Mirroring sound across multiple devices is sometimes tricky, it occasionally stops working and we need to reset the mirror. Also some bandwidth issues when streaming HD content over multiple devices, but that's to be expected to a certain degree. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We chose Userful after having previously deployed fully-hardware driven video walls primarily based on cost considerations and ease of management by lower level staff. Setup within the software itself was straightforward and Support helped a great deal. We love the cloud-based management interface and the flexibility to take in a huge range of sources. It's a great solution for our Network Operations Center. Our staff manage it easily and the system is reliable and useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wasn't thrilled with having to use one of their pre-specced HP towers when, as a Cloud provider, we have a huge range of compute resources available to us. If you're needing video capture cards obviously a physical host is required, but being able to virtualize the solution in our own farm would be ideal. Also, having a high throughout network is critical to reducing latency and keeping up frame rates. Our level III network engineer spent a great deal of time extending and optimizing our gigabit network to ensure the best performance on Useful.
Support has been up and down in terms of responsiveness and effectiveness. We've had to fight some battles to get significant issues resolved and it sometimes takes far too many contacts to get the issue handled. That said, eventually they do step up and work to resolve our issues and ensure we're satisfied.
We also were discouraged when asked for a very expensive renewal of an on-premise, perpetual license with incorrect device counts. When we purchased we opted for perpetual to avoid annual renewal costs but they are changing their pricing model with zero notice to us about the change or its implications. They are working with us on this to bring the cost down and ensure we're happy, which I appreciate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
