The advantage with Userfull is that the screens can be managed granularly, which allows us greater control over the content. ### 3. Even though Linux wasn't my first choice it is an enterprise-grade operating system with plenty of documentation available, so even though I disliked the OS it was a breeze to install, setup, and configure. **What problems is Userful Infinity Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Userful we were able to solve the inefficient delivery of office communications regarding the call center & workforce metrics by being able to deliver these metrics not only in real-time but to any of our large displays located throughout the call center. We have been able to transform our building for digital communication at a low cost. The flexibility of the Userful devices allows us to use the same system for individual display or for display walls. This allows our digital display dollars to go further and thus allowing us to invest in a more robust digital display environment. Another great feature for education is the ability to allow multiple groups to control their own content. The remote access features from Userful allow one system to have an environment where there can be multiple contributors to the maintenance of the digital displays. In an environment where there is not a budget for display maintenance, the ability to delegate the display responsibility is a great feature. Schools are not thought to be a technology display hub. However, as students become more adapt at technology, they expect the way they are communicated to to become more technology based. Posters and flyers do not demand enough attention to make students read them. Powerful displays can be used to build school culture, keep students aware of school events and provide an overall positive school experience for students. Above all, the ease of use, ease of setting stuff up and the customer support are the best part of Userful. In no time, we were able to full implement our screens and get our building on-line. When we did have any problems, Userful staff was very helpful and resolved our issues very quickly. The control tower consisted of a number of displays, in which the customer wanted the ability to control each display individual, and also have the ability to daisy chain the displays. We presented the Userful solution, and brought in the Userful team to assist. The customer was very happy with the user interface and ease of use. I have not received any negative feedback from the customer. Anytime we have a problem, Userful Support gets right on it. The UI is also very user friendly. Userful also has great features for Content Filtering. Being a public library, with public computers, we have had difficulty in the past with patrons visiting innapropriate websites. **What do you dislike about Userful Infinity Platform?** The system does not support Adobe products at this time. Sometimes updates take a long time to implement and bugs are very common that break certain features. Though these bugs are usually fixed very quickly. Sometimes our content filters get deleted randomly and we have to go back in and fix it manually. **Recommendations to others considering Userful Infinity Platform:** Make sure you have a room that can accommodate servers for the system. If you can dream it, Userful can probably do it. It's user friendly enough that you can accomplish the basics without too much trouble, but advanced enough that you can do a lot of cool things with it - if you're willing to put in the effort. To be honest, I can't imagine what we would've done without Userful when we made our video wall a couple years ago. **What do you dislike about Userful Infinity Platform?** Support times are a bit slow when I have questions. That being said, they are very helpful once they do get back to me. I would also say that Userful is a bit complicated to set up initially. It's not something most people can do on their own. I had an entire IT team helping me plan the video wall, purchase hardware, and configure the networking - and it still took us a couple months to finish it. If you're not at least somewhat comfortable with TV and network hardware, I wouldn't recommend trying to set this up on your own without some help from someone knowledgeable in these areas. **What problems is Userful Infinity Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Userful helps us manage 12 video screens in a wall format. Without Userful, it would be incredibly hard to do this. We would have to manage each individual screen manually, which would be very difficult and create a lot of manual labor for our IT team. ### 31. It is a highly customizable solution with all kind of inputs to display (cctv, web, shell terminal). We currently have a 8-station videowall used by our NOC/SOC team and we are very satisfied with this decission, saving a lot of money from competitors. **What do you dislike about Userful Infinity Platform?** Only a few HP servers are supported so you cannot use any server to install userful software or you loose support. Presets must allow post-functions to reconfigure any web with credentials, terminals with scripts executed automatically in order to be faster to change presets dinamically. **What problems is Userful Infinity Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We worked with several standalone monitors to visualize data and that was slow and poor customizable. As a managed services company (datacenter, cloud, cibersecurity) , being able to display all the information from our customers into one landscape videowall and change the whole videowall using presets makes us focus on customer incidents with all data available. ### 32. That was only because we didn't go through any tutorials. It was very easy to figure out. Things just make sense when you look at the software dashboard. I really like the fact that you can use whatever hardware you want. The product is very open. **What do you dislike about Userful Infinity Platform?** The only issue we had with Userful was getting the application to only display during a set period of time. There is a setting so you can choose when the displays turn on and off, but for some reason our system would not do it. I believe it was a hardware problem because when we upgraded the hardware, the issue went away. **Recommendations to others considering Userful Infinity Platform:** When choosing your hardware, make sure you follow their supported hardware list. **What problems is Userful Infinity Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Userful in our Customer Innovation Center, as a welcome display. The interface is easy to use, support has been responsive when needed, and overall it's been a solid, reliable setup for our office. I would certainly recommend Userful if you're looking for a system to display content simultaneously across multiple devices. **What do you dislike about Userful Infinity Platform?** Mirroring sound across multiple devices is sometimes tricky, it occasionally stops working and we need to reset the mirror. Setup within the software itself was straightforward and Support helped a great deal. We love the cloud-based management interface and the flexibility to take in a huge range of sources. It's a great solution for our Network Operations Center. Our staff manage it easily and the system is reliable and useful. **What do you dislike about Userful Infinity Platform?** I wasn't thrilled with having to use one of their pre-specced HP towers when, as a Cloud provider, we have a huge range of compute resources available to us. If you're needing video capture cards obviously a physical host is required, but being able to virtualize the solution in our own farm would be ideal. Also, having a high throughout network is critical to reducing latency and keeping up frame rates. Our level III network engineer spent a great deal of time extending and optimizing our gigabit network to ensure the best performance on Useful. Support has been up and down in terms of responsiveness and effectiveness. We've had to fight some battles to get significant issues resolved and it sometimes takes far too many contacts to get the issue handled. That said, eventually they do step up and work to resolve our issues and ensure we're satisfied. We also were discouraged when asked for a very expensive renewal of an on-premise, perpetual license with incorrect device counts. When we purchased we opted for perpetual to avoid annual renewal costs but they are changing their pricing model with zero notice to us about the change or its implications. They are working with us on this to bring the cost down and ensure we're happy, which I appreciate. **Recommendations to others considering Userful Infinity Platform:** Ensure you have the in-house networking expertise to properly setup the endpoints and server. **What problems is Userful Infinity Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Displaying dozens of input sources from across public and private networks across 25 individual and video-wall displays, in one central location, with easy and central management. ### 39. We didn't need to spend 400k on a competing solution and we got to use the displays of our choice. Sometimes a display will randomly change resolution and there were alignment issues that had to be addressed. Each display just needs a thin client behind it, which is controlled by that PC. There's an easy to use web interface to control content on the displays. We use it to control a 2x2 video wall in our lobby, as well as 20+ standalone displays around our office. It's also much more cost-effective than other solutions I considered. **What do you dislike about Userful Infinity Platform?** The software has had its fair share of bugs in the 2+ years we have been using it, but they are generally on top of those and push out new releases fairly regularly. Streaming video to displays is somewhat choppy, but I think that is mostly related to the fact that the system is running on a 1Gbps network (10Gbps is recommended for video). **What problems is Userful Infinity Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We need to display unique content all around our office.
