## Usercentrics Reviews
  ### 1. Do not proceed

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel C. | SVP, Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Usercentrics?**

Honestly, very little. The dashboard is clean, and once it’s set up, it technically functions as intended. But getting to that point—and maintaining it—has been far more difficult than it should be. There are far better tools on the market that offer similar features with less friction and better support.

**What do you dislike about Usercentrics?**

I was sold on Usercentrics with the understanding that it was a flexible, easy-to-implement solution that anyone on our team could manage without heavy technical lift. That turned out not to be true. The interface is not intuitive, and most meaningful configurations require engineering-level knowledge or additional dev time—which we weren't expecting.

More frustrating is the lack of customer support after you sign. There’s no onboarding or implementation assistance, and no customer success contact to guide you. Support tickets take a long time to get a response, and when they do, the answers are often incomplete or generic. At one point, we waited over a week for help with a fairly basic implementation question.

There’s also no meaningful documentation for state-level compliance (e.g., California, Virginia), which is surprising for a product in this space. Any flexibility they claim to offer in banner behavior is either buried or gated behind advanced logic that requires external development help.

Overall, if you're expecting a partner to guide you through CMP compliance—especially in complex legal environments like the U.S.—this isn’t it. You’re mostly on your own.

**What problems is Usercentrics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a consent management platform to ensure compliance with GDPR and U.S. state-level privacy laws. Usercentrics technically provides the infrastructure to do that, but the lack of support, flexibility, and ease-of-use has made it feel more like a liability than a solution.

**Official Response from Review Platforms:**

> Dear Daniel C.,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We understand how important ease of use, onboarding, and timely support are, especially when navigating complex data compliance requirements.

We’re continuously working to improve our documentation, interface, and overall support experience. As part of this, we’ve recently launched a new onboarding checklist and enhanced documentation to help guide our customers more effectively.

We also recognize that timely support is critical. Due to a recent large influx of support requests, response times have been longer than usual, and we regret that this may have delayed your implementation. If you’re still encountering challenges, we’d appreciate the opportunity to better understand and support you. Please feel free to reach out to us at support@usercentrics.com.

Best regards,
Your Usercentrics Team

  ### 2. Unfortunately a disappointing experience

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Usercentrics?**

You can start immediately in the free version.

**What do you dislike about Usercentrics?**

Implementation inadequate: Unfortunately, Usercentrics only provides a script tag for integration, but misleadingly advertises a CMP that can also be used on GoDaddy.com websites. However, this is not the case – because the GoDaddy website builder does not allow custom scripts. Therefore, I was unable to use Usercentrics and it was a huge waste of time to configure the CMP with it.

**What problems is Usercentrics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem: Websites nowadays require GDPR-compliant consent management platforms.

**Official Response from Hanna Sternkopf:**

> Hello there,

Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you found the free version easy to get started with. We also appreciate your honest input regarding the GoDaddy integration, this is valuable for understanding limitations and improving guidance for users. It’s clear that managing GDPR-compliant consent is an important need, and your experience highlights where we can provide clearer setup instructions. We appreciate you sharing your perspective!

Kind regards,
The Usercentrics Team

  ### 3. Extraordinarily complicated setup, poor support documentation and nearly non-existent human support

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Usercentrics?**

Appeared to have substantial functionality

**What do you dislike about Usercentrics?**

* Complicated setup that was anything but intuitive

* No apparent ability to delete configurations once created

* No apparent way to implement geolocation rulesets correctly--could never get any banner other than GDPR to appear on website (we're a US company with no marketing targeted to the EU, so. . . . )

* "Knowledge Center" is anything but helpful--unable to find clear answers to the simplest questions, and information provided was often outdated or contradicted information elsewhere

* Support from the actual human team (which I think is 1 guy) was relatively quick in coming (we'll overlook the fact they ignored my first support request altogether) but even he couldn't answer most of the questions I had, and there's absolutely no way to talk to a real human--emailing back and forth is as good as it gets

**What problems is Usercentrics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None--they created more problems than they could have ever solved, and we cancelled the subscription after an incredibly frustrating implementation experience

**Official Response from Review Platforms:**

> Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience with setup, documentation, and support. That’s not the experience we aim to provide, and we regret that we fell short of your expectations.

Our platform is designed to support a range of complex use cases, but we understand that this can also lead to a steep learning curve. We’re actively working to improve our documentation, simplify implementation, and scale our support team to better meet customer needs.

Your insights are extremely valuable to us and help guide those improvements. Thank you again for your feedback.

Best regards,
The Usercentrics Team

  ### 4. A bit difficult to set up

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Usercentrics?**

I like that the plugin is very affordable, easy to integrate, but not to set up and also the scan tool is really helpful and also included in the free version.

**What do you dislike about Usercentrics?**

I had a lot of trouble to set up the cookie banner, and I'm still not sure if it's GDPR compliant. I also find that the price to get a professional to set this up for you is not that affordable and it almost feels like it's on purpose to be so complicated to sell you the set up. I wish there were YouTube tutorials from a specialist about that. May other companies opens a youtube channel and do tutorials, maybe it's a good idea for you too.

I find that the support can be better

**What problems is Usercentrics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a cookie banner for my website
