If you don't like the proposed layouts, you can fully customize it quite easily (you need to know a bit of HTML and CSS, but it's pretty simple). It comes as a freemium solution, with prices among the lowest in the category. The user experience of the cookie banner is very smooth. Technically, the detection of cookies on your website is exhaustive, and Cookiebot effectively blocks all services that use non-necessary cookies until the user has expressed their preferences. It integrates natively with the Google Consent Mode (which I advise against, as it is too restrictive for most data protection laws). **What do you dislike about Cookiebot by Usercentrics?** It lacks a way to let the user close the cookie banner, implicitly rejecting marketing cookies. Cookiebot allowed us to become compliant with GDPR rules quickly and efficiently. It saved me soo much time since I no longer had to make these updates as a custom update to the site. **What do you dislike about Cookiebot by Usercentrics?** No dislikes that I can think of. What I dislike most is that they changed their billing system to only accept certain credit cards with 3DS enabled. If you don't have such a card and although you have been a paying customer for years you are out of luck and get kicked out by them within a week. **What problems is Cookiebot by Usercentrics solving and how is that benefiting you?** showing those annoying cookie banners that you need to have in the EU **Official Response from Michael Cederqvist:** > Thank you for your feedback. Via a GDPR legal training subscription, I was recommended this software, and it changed my life. I love best that cookiebot will automatically "compile" all cookies stored by the site in a doc (that can then be embedded in your policies for those customers who want to know everything in extreme detail). It will highlight any issues, such as potential data collection before the opt-in field appears, etc. It is basically your IT department+legal in one. For a small monthly fee. **What do you dislike about Cookiebot by Usercentrics?** The user interface is a bit strange- it took me a while to get used to it. But that seems to be my personal taste- my It interns had no issues with it so far. **Recommendations to others considering Cookiebot by Usercentrics:** No-brainer really. If you want to make your GDPR compliance easy, use this software. **What problems is Cookiebot by Usercentrics solving and how is that benefiting you?** Basic GDPR compliance for small businesses. It has saved me hours of reading up on specific regulations and saved us the effort of designing a pop-up ourselves (inclusive content). ### 27. I guess that's how they get you. **What do you dislike about Cookiebot by Usercentrics?** Unfortunately this seems like an amateur and/or fraudulent business. They have incorrectly moved 10+ websites up to a higher plan because they were counting ?utm parameters as separate pages on the websites. They have acknowledged this for one website and fixed it, but we're still missing the rest that are still being charged for too large a plan. About a month ago, they told me that they were working to fix it, but since then, they have stopped replying to my emails. We are now on the third month of them charging more than double of what they should. I've canceled our account and raised a chargeback with the bank. **Recommendations to others considering Cookiebot by Usercentrics:** Steer clear of this fraudulent company. **What problems is Cookiebot by Usercentrics solving and how is that benefiting you?** Well, they did solve the problem of too much money in our bank account. But they've now taken care of that very effectively by charging us much more than they were supposed to. So... Good job?! ### 28.
