What do you like best?

The utility and ease of access is what is the best about uptodate. The fact that it is an app that can be accessed from any device with a thorough search engine is what makes it superior to looking things up on google. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes, the search results are a bit cluttered. I would say work on making the search engine not only search for terms and phrases but have it pull up the articles that have that term mentioned most first. Once in awhile the page that I am looking for is not the first choice but second or third. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I solve clinical problems with uptodate. Look up guidelines for medications and treatments, refreshing pathophysiology and finding the best diagnostic tests to use are all within the scope of uptodate. While sometimes the information provided is due to the bias of the provider writing the article, it is still important to help us keep an open mind of various treatment options. What do you like best?

UpToDate is an incredible resources for health information. It is my number one reference at work, I consult it numerous times every single day, as do all of my colleagues. I feel 100% confident in the information provided whether it be medication dosing, diagnostic criteria, or just general information about a certain condition. What do you dislike?

Nothing really! Sometimes the search feature isn't amazing and you have to do a bit of clicking around to find exactly what you need but honestly that's pretty rare. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

100% recommend it for anyone in healthcare. It is an encyclopedia of medical and health-related information that is never outdated or unsupported by evidence. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I use UpToDate to stay current in my practice. It allows me to be certain I am providing care up to the most current standards and practices. It allows me to check that medications I am recommending to patients are being done so at the correct doses and times, I can check interactions between medications, I can see if medications are safe for breastfeeding. What do you like best?

I like the “treatment” section as this is helpful to me as a clinician. I appreciate the different perspectives on treatment strategies and dosing schemes. These are super helpful to me when I’m looking at treatment options!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes the sources aren’t directly from primary literature or guidelines so you have to use discretion

An underrated but absolutely essential feature of UpToDate is the search engine that powers UpToDate. In terms of fast access to relevant knowledge, UpToDate is unmatched. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Coverage of different medical topics is quite varied, with some topics receiving a lot of attention, while others are scarcely covered. However, due to the wonderful search capability as mentioned above, it is at least straightforward to figure out quickly whether the information you are looking for is covered or not. What do you like best?

Up-to-date Is the gold standard for learning clinical information well of awards during the third year of medical school. It has everything I need to know for the boards and the wards to make me an excellent medical student. It is a MUST HAVE for any clinician to stay up to date on all of the latest research and recommendations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It could be cumbersome at times but overall it’s a great medical resource. Nothing else to comment on since it is an essential resource. However, this resource is critical to complete any clinical task while on the wards, especially as a medical student who needs a quick clinical resource that pools from all of the most up to date information from the medical literature.
