This is awesome for people who do not have a large web dev capacity. The monitors it supports work well, and display cleanly on the status page. **What do you dislike about UptimeRobot?** The support for Uptime Robot was atrocious. The support agent came across as somewhat arrogant, despite not being very knowledgeable in the topic. I provided as much information as I could imagine is relevant and many details were skipped entirely when mentioned, even though relevant. Steps were repeated on the scale of a Microsoft support ticket. Also, they do not support UDP monitoring in any capacity. If you need to utilize a port monitor, don't expect to be able to implement them all successfully. This is a huge issue for any Game Server or varied Service providers, as TCP doesn't always respond to queries. **Recommendations to others considering UptimeRobot:** Do not use this service if you need UDP monitoring of any sort, or expect quality support. **What problems is UptimeRobot solving and how is that benefiting you?** It was helping me with my game server monitoring until it proved incapable of doing it properly. It comes with a very convenient free plan, but I had to upgrade to monitor every 1 minute instead of the default of 5. The paid version is not that expensive though, and totally worth the money I spend (monthly charged). It also has a very comprehensive and convenient Android app, which I use daily. **What do you dislike about UptimeRobot?** I would like it to be easier to set up different test locations manually, like with similar free services like freshping, and also to have an option for IP ranges of /24 for CloudFlare CDN. Also I would like to see more optimized email subjects that would prioritize the state of the monitor, then the monitor name, and maybe a color dot (like freshping does), which would be convenient with Google's Gmail popup notifications. Currently I am seeing a "Monitor is... ou.gr", and I have to open the inbox to see what monitor it is referring to. Disclosure: I am not affiliated neither with UptimeRobot nor Freshping; I started using UptimeRobot first, and upgraded to the paid version for the convenience of its mobile app, and the 1-minute checks. I am using Freshping free as a backup , and to my surprise I find that some features it offers for free, and not even an option with the paid version of UptimeRobot's. **Recommendations to others considering UptimeRobot:** Overall it is a good service, which solves the problem it was created for. **What problems is UptimeRobot solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can know exactly what time an installation is experiencing downtime, and for how long it remains publicly unavailable. I get notified by push notifications, and by email, so it is rare that I miss an incident. Also, I am never caught by surprise anymore when someone calls me to notify me of an active issue. Lastly, I can discover performance issues with my hardware, that, without monitoring, would have never been traced otherwise. ### 49.
