As an AWS cloud engineer I could implement the same functionality with Route53 health-checks and CloudWatch alerts/dashboards, but it would require much more effort, and what is even more important and valueable - my time. Ultimately we're people )) which means we're lazy by our nature - so we're constantly looking for achieving our goals with simple solutions! Here you are - UptimeRobot is a tool where many useful features are combined in one place. If you work in software development industry and care about availability of your website, e.g. if you want to sign an SLO/SLA agreement - I'd recommend to look at what UptimeRobot dashboard can give you. Maybe, sending checks UptimeRobot server is too far from European region... Apart from the technical implementaion - health-checks, email notifications, SSO, etc., it provides "ready-to-use" calculations/figures understandable for non-technical staff, hence which can be present in an agreement signed between two companies. They've recently started charging nonprofits for their service, which while a small bummer, they make up for by offering a scholarship program to help organizations like ours continue to use their service. As a small public health-focused nonprofit without an in-house IT team, we rely on UptimeRobot to alert us if there's anything gone awry with our website. If our website is down, it means our audience can't reliably access our resources which is of course, not ideal. Anytime our site goes down, we get an emailed alert from UptimeRobot within minutes and can work to resolve the issue quickly. In the past, we'd only find out if our site was down if we happened to try to load the site. Now, we get near real-time notification! UptimeRobot's service has been a lifesaver. Being a free account it took \>5min when loading my website when ther is no much traffic. So, I got to know about UpTime robot from GitHub Copilot, when I stated my problem statement. And voila, I got the best website mnitoring tool. Whenever my website is down, or anything, I get email notifications, then quick resolutions can be possible. I've been using UptimeRobot to monitor one of my code applications that I need to keep running almost 24/7. I've been using Uptime Robot every day in the background for maybe 2 months now. I love how simple it is to use and set up and integrate with my current application. No additional code was really necessary! And how reliable its monitoring is. A quick and simple fix to ensuring your application stays up and is maintained seamlessly. The support staff has been quick to answer any queries I may have had.
