**What problems is Upshift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a new manager, my client requested free food for ten weeks, and I needed to hire temporary employees. Without knowing any good temp services, upshift was recommended by a colleague. They did not disappoint. I could email my account manager about the simple changes, posting shifts, and anything I needed. Upshift also did a quick tutorial on their user-friendly site. Invoicing is easy, as it is emailed to you. They came to my rescue, and I would recommend them to anyone. You can also set the pay rate that fits your location and needs best. You are also able to reject or favor upshifters for future needs.

**What do you like best about Upshift?**

I love the fact that you can schedule the shifts you need. You can set the hourly wage and change it if you know you are still missing a shift. You get to write the jobs and are in control of accepting or denying workers. All of the things you need are in your control, and you get to be in charge of the process.

**What do you dislike about Upshift?**

I would like to see a more user-friendly display of workers for the week rather than clicking each shift for each day. Also, if you could get a text when an Upshifter cancels within a short time frame, like an hour or two before the shift starts, we could be better prepared.

**Recommendations to others considering Upshift:**

This is the way to go if you are looking for a great tool to help with staffing. You are in control of the platform, you are in control of the costs, and you are in control of the people. Using Upshift has been a massive help to our business and our client, keeping us fully staffed during this trying time.

Upshift has helped with the staffing issues we get faced with daily. You can be proactive in scheduling and plan to use Upshift when you need it most. This is so important when you need to have a full staff to run your business and are short.

The app does not always work. First time Upshifters do not know how to clock in on their first shift. Another thing is we cannot post set schedules.

Most beneficial if using Upshift to fill individual shifts.

Currently not utilizing Upshift this summer. However, the customer service aspect is convenient and helpful. Representatives are prompt in responding.

The technology aspect of Upshift makes it easy to communicate with staff and my Upshift contact. It also makes it easy to post shifts quickly when I need help at the last minute.

Sometimes there are times when I would hope for better quality workers, but that is anywhere you go. For the most part, Upshift have met our needs as a business.

Staffing at my multi-unit location. I have been able to staff not only when I am short-handed but also on short notice. There have been many great people that have come from Upshift that have worked at my locations.

CUSTOMER SERVICE!  I can't say enough about the customer service.  Our rep, Ben Dolan, is always super responsive and willing to help.  This gives UpShift the edge in their field by far.

**What do you dislike about Upshift?**

There are no downsides to UpShift.  I would like to see lower prices.  There is nothing that is not realized that I can think of.  Improvements in pricing can help.

They will work with you and make it easy to get workers quickly.

They are helping us source viable candidates for our Warehouse.  This helps us to be able to assist our clients quickly and efficiently. Business performance has increased.

Sometimes there are some unseen circumstances that you’ll need help for and Upshift always deliver in a pinch with no problem being to big to handle.

**What do you dislike about Upshift?**

The downside of using Upshift usually means there’s a emergency but not all the time so you have to call them when you’re in a pinch, but they take care of it almost all the time.

Upshift helps me realize that sometimes you’re more shorthanded than you think and that hiring a few more people are not the end of the world.

Upshift has helped provide quality workers in the midst of a pandemic when we have been so short staffed.  The workers coming to our property have excellent skills and are terrific workers.  I could not be more pleased with the decision to try upshift!

I can plan ahead and fill in the gaps in my staffing needs.  I also like that I can prefer people who have become regulars for shifts.

I have not come across anything that I dislike.

Plan in advance.  I try to post my shifts at least 2 weeks before.

In our current climate, it is more and more important for employers to find creative and flexible ways to cover our staffing needs.  Upshift has been a quick answer for our hotel.  We put in the shifts we need the people come to us.  Just like that, I have 3 people for a busy Saturday turn-around in housekeeping. I love this model.

easy to manage. Upshift staff is very attentive

I haven't found an aspect of this that I don't like yet.

We have been working with upshift for a couple of years now, filling roles for banquet servers and, most recently, line cooks.

**What do you like best about Upshift?**

I like that once you post an ad, you can easily copy and paste and use it for future ads.
Also, Love having the business app on my phone for employers, which allows me to receive instant notifications of upshifting activity.

**What do you dislike about Upshift?**

I don't have any complaints.  Upshift has worked very well for our business.

**What problems is Upshift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Like the rest of the country, we are experiencing a staff shortage.  Upshift is a great way to fill in for staff shortage in the most crucial areas to keep our business running as we continue to interview and train staff.

Upshift is ALWAYS on top of every email. Regardless the time of day upshift is on top of anything and everything that is sent to them. All questions are answered in a timely manner and all matters are always taken care of properly.

I like the communication the best. I know I can rely on them at any time of the day reply back to me and answer any questions I may have.

We use Upshift in times of high product orders, in case our employees are not able to keep up. Upshift gives us access to employees who temporarily help out as pickers or in the packaging department

**What do you like best about Upshift?**

It is a super fast and flexible system to manage these peaks of overcapacity in our warehouses. You search for the tast the worker will do, an they will find someone for you. The whole administrative and fiscal part is also done by upshift

**What do you dislike about Upshift?**

So far we have been lucky with the employees who have helped us out. It seems that upshift puts a lot of emphasis on the selection of the people who work with us.

**Recommendations to others considering Upshift:**

It is highly dependent of your location if you will find available workforce. But if you find someone, it will very likely be someone competent.

Managing peaks in orders, without having to delay shipments, or make longer shifts for our regular staff.

Supplemental staffing for amusement park. Hoped to get higher quality candidates then from other "traditional" staffing agencies that we have worked with in the past

**What do you like best about Upshift?**

Very high quality candidates

**What do you dislike about Upshift?**

We have large numbers needed and they alone couldn't fill all the needs. Had some candidates that were "one time and never come back" but that is to be expected with any temporary work position that is day by day.

**Recommendations to others considering Upshift:**

Consider how often/regular your requests will be. With steady requests you will usually get the same workers. Also consider how close you are to public transit, as may workers will rely on public transit to get to your workplace. Also be aware of bonuses and such especially on mixed shifts with regular employees and with temporary Upshifters-they will talk to each other about how much they are getting paid, and though a little more an hour should be fine, if the difference is too great you may have an issue arise where regular employees want to work through Upshift to do the same work for a higher pay rate.  Also we still used multiple staffing agencies to reach the large number of requests we had, so think carefully about how you would sort and prioritize what tasks each group is assigned- I always made sure to have a mix so that it would be seen as fair and not throwing certain tasks on to a certain group.

Very few associate issues, very few billing issues compared to traditional staffing agencies.

They have helped my company out with supplying experienced hospitality professionals multiple times and sometimes with a very short notice.

**What do you like best about Upshift?**

The level of experience that they require from anyone who works for them.  Most agencies do not have many requirements so you are unsure the level of service you many get some times.

**What do you dislike about Upshift?**

The only thing that is sometimes a challenge is when the staff members do not show up for their shifts but are some how still able to clock in.  Thankfully, we are able to correct it so Upshift doesn't get taken advantage of.

**Recommendations to others considering Upshift:**

Definitely post as many shifts you have available as soon as you can.  You typically will then keep getting the same excellent workers with as much notice as you can give them.

During this pandemic they have helped us keep our events fully staffed.

We've gotten some really hard workers.  I love getting to see bio's before selecting an Upshifter.

Two things: they can unconfirm so if I'm not careful, I miss that and end up with a vacancy.  And lately during covid I've had trouble getting enough people to sign up for jobs without long lead times.

Upshift works really well if you have a longer lead time for the job you need to fill.

Only being able to create schedules 2 weeks at a time & not personally being able to delete schedules that don’t have applicants.

Easy to use, adjustable pay rates, Simple Billing

Not good for last minute help. Occasional inconsistencies with staff's knowledge.
