I have used many different pdf management apps and websites, over the years, but nothing truly met my needs – especially after I retired. Retirement, though, doesn’t mean that the need suddenly drops off a cliff – but my need for any of my previous dabblings certainly has! Why? Because UPDF has met every single need I have ever had for a pdf management app – and more! I seriously wish that I had found this years ago: I know for a fact that UPDF would have saved me hours of faffing about! Resigned to the fact that I would need to go down the subscription route, I started working through all the paid-for options (using free trial periods) that I had shortlisted. When I got to UPDF, I was so impressed that I bought a lifetime subscription the same day that I started using it! It is now the only pdf management tool that I use, and I highly recommend it – and without reservation.

I work in a design office and I use UPDF a lot for measuring on plans. The tool is effective and meets my expectations in this area, plus it is convenient for modifying documents, whether to integrate text, images, or even to delete them! I opted for the lifetime plan and I do not regret it. It does about as much as Adobe, if not more in some aspects. I use it daily, it easily replaced Adobe, the implementation was simple and I recommend this software. for the measurements, the attachment is missing, which is very practical for taking measurements quickly, and the scale change should be more easily accessible. it would also be nice to be able to have a different scale per tab if needed. the integration of a scanned signature is not as good as Adobe because the white background is not removed, so the integration is less natural. UPDF has a beautiful, clean user interface that makes it easy to navigate even complex PDF tasks. The Create PDF from Scanner feature is one of my favorite tools — it lets me scan multi-page documents and instantly combines them into a single file with just a couple clicks. I also love the Form Field Recognition feature, which can detect and convert scanned forms into fillable fields, saving me tons of time. The OCR still needs work — it’s functional, but not nearly on the level of Adobe Acrobat yet. Especially when working with more complex or lower-quality scans, the text recognition can miss words or formatting. That said, it’s improving with updates and still very usable for most tasks. Occasionally, I’ve experienced minor slowdowns when working with large documents, but nothing deal-breaking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease of use and the number of tools are more than enough for 90% of office work, the mobile app is very complete and intuitive, it has gotten me out of trouble on more than one occasion.

The Mac version is super optimized, it feels like it was developed specifically for this operating system.

The app on Windows is not as well optimized as on other platforms.

On Mac I can double-click on a word and select all of it automatically, this on Windows does not work, you must select the whole word manually.

For me, who work with the app on all three platforms (Android, Mac and Windows) this latest version is the one I feel has the least optimization, after a few months of use it feels slow and I have found that uninstalling and re-installing solves the agility of the app, but this should not be the case. I really appreciate how simple it is to navigate, even for complex tasks like editing, converting, and annotating PDFs. It was effortless to set up, and I was able to start working immediately without any learning curve. The interface is modern, clean, and well thought out, making daily use very pleasant. As an new user to UPDF , we found it's ease of use very intuitive compared to the higher priced Adobe products we were using. The UPDF customer support and ease of implementation were straight forward and clear making the switch from Adobe very smooth with no down time getting to work load from Adobe to UPDF. Our dislikes a very few at the moment, so far there have been no real concerns having worked with Adobe for over 2 years it is minimal the issues we have, everything from customer support and implementation of UPDF have been straight forward.
