"Superb PDF Tool with Insightful AI Feature"
4.5/5
What do you like best about UPDF?

I like UPDF for its AI feature, which is especially valuable for clarifying and confirming my understanding of specific content within a file. It's helpful because I can chat with UPDF about a specific document, and it provides clear indications when it makes inferences or relates information indirectly. Unlike other AI chatbots, it limits unnecessary inferences, making it reliable for academic reading. Also, the setup process of UPDF is very easy and straightforward, and the customer service is prompt and responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UPDF?

Just like other LLMs, the AI is ever changing, and with that, sometimes the answers can vary in length, depth, scope. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable PDF Tool with Stellar OCR and Usability"
4/5
What do you like best about UPDF?

I like how UPDF is fairly simple to use and quick. It's reliable and previews things well. I find the OCR feature really useful, especially because I often look at research papers and books that aren't digitized. Being able to search through these documents with the OCR is a big help for me. The word recognition is really good, which is great for my research work. Also, the initial setup was pretty easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UPDF?

I think the annotation side of things could be better. It could be more intuitive in how to use it. Some of the shortcuts aren't intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marketing UPDF of UPDF

We're glad to hear that you find UPDF simple to use and reliable, and that the OCR feature is helpful for your research work. We appreciate your feedback about the annotation side and will take it into consideration for future improvements.

"Highly Functional, Needs Some UI Improvements"
4/5
What do you like best about UPDF?

I really appreciate the ability to edit PDFs, fill in forms, and the unique color themes UPDF offers. It's easy to edit, and the tutorials are easy to understand, which helps a lot. The low price aspect is a big plus for me too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UPDF?

With other PDF programs, I used to be able to narrow in on moving boxes on the screen with the editing tools by holding down Ctrl + shift and arrow keys for navigation. This function doesn't work anymore, and it is difficult to position graphics on the page in precise areas I need them in. I haven't figured out how to do it yet. I also used to know which page tab I was working on easily at the top of the screen in other PDF programs. In this program, I often get confused which tab I have open on the screen viewer. I have to click on other tabs to figure it out at times. It might be better to have the tab more clearly highlighted or separated from the other tabs where it's easier to see on screen. I could see if it's a color theme issue, but then I would lose the colors I like best and defeat the purpose of having color themes to choose from. I think the tint of the active window should be darker than the other tabs. Learning the software was a little different than normal and took some time to play around with it before I got used to it. I am pretty savvy on the computer too so I'm not sure if other less experienced users would find it easy to use this quickly. My advice would be to spend some time on tutorials if you have it. Thank you for your detailed feedback! We appreciate your positive comments about the editing capabilities, tutorials, and affordable pricing. We understand your concerns about the UI and navigation issues. We will take your suggestions into consideration for future improvements.

"Simple, Intuitive, and a Pleasure to Use"
5/5
What do you like best about UPDF?

Simple and intuitive to use. Plenty of features and I have not needed to use support. I do have Adobe Acrobat Pro and PDF Reader Pro but when I use these, I really do find it easier just to close them down and open the document in UPDF. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UPDF?

Nothing really - I find it ideal for my needs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A fast and affordable alternative to Acrobat"
5/5
What do you like best about UPDF?

I use UPDF for viewing and editing PDF files. I like the file loading speed and the fairly intuitive interface. It's a cheaper alternative to Acrobat with the same functionality. It was also important that you can buy a lifetime license with crypto. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UPDF?

The toolbar is not very well organized. Only some tools are shown, and to see others, you need to click the "more" button. This is not very convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Finally, a PDF Editor That's Actually Easy and Pleasant to Use"
5/5
What do you like best about UPDF?

I've tried numerous PDF editors, and UPDF stands out for its perfect balance of powerful features and incredible ease of use. The interface is clean, modern, and intuitive. I was able to open it and start editing, annotating, and converting documents immediately without watching any tutorials.

A few things I use constantly:

Effortless Annotation: Highlighting text, adding comments, and drawing shapes is incredibly smooth. The sticky notes and highlighters are my most-used tools for reviewing documents, and they work flawlessly.

The OCR Feature: This is a game-changer. I frequently get PDFs that are essentially scanned images. UPDF's OCR (Optical Character Recognition) accurately converts them into searchable and selectable text in seconds, which is a massive time-saver.

All-in-One Platform: It replaces multiple apps for me. I use it for simple tasks like merging PDFs and compressing file sizes, but also for more advanced work like editing text and images directly within a PDF. The fact that it's available across my Mac, iPhone, and iPad with seamless syncing is a huge plus.

Excellent Value: Compared to the industry giant (Adobe), UPDF offers about 90% of the functionality I need at a fraction of the cost. The one-time purchase option is very appealing.

The ease of implementation was basically zero; it was a simple download and install. I use it with a high frequency, almost daily, for both personal and professional tasks. It has become an indispensable part of my workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UPDF?

No software is perfect, and UPDF has a few minor areas for improvement.

The AI Feature Paywall: UPDF has started integrating AI tools (like summarising, translating, etc.), which is great in theory. However, these features are locked behind a separate, additional subscription on top of the core product license. I feel the core product is fairly priced, but this AI add-on feels a bit expensive for what it offers and how often I'd use it. I'd prefer if some basic AI functionality were included in the premium license.

Occasional Performance with Huge Files: While it handles most documents with ease, I've noticed a very slight lag or delay when working with exceptionally large PDFs (500+ pages with heavy graphics). It's not a dealbreaker, but it's something I've observed.

Limited Cloud Integration: It integrates well with its own cloud service, but I'd love to see more native, direct integration with other platforms like Google Drive or Notion within the app itself. Right now, I typically open files from my desktop.

Overall, these are relatively small gripes. The core functionality, such as editing, annotating, converting, and organising PDFs, is exceptionally solid and reliable. The customer support has been responsive, the one time I reached out with a licensing question. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable and Easy PDF Management"
5/5
What do you like best about UPDF?

I really enjoy using UPDF for a variety of personal tasks, including filling out forms, signing documents, and editing PDFs, all made convenient by its accessibility on multiple devices like PC, laptop, and mobile devices. The cloud service aspect of UPDF is particularly valuable as it allows me to access important documents across different devices, whether I'm dealing with banking, legal, or business documents. I find UPDF's OCR capability incredibly advantageous for easily copying and pasting from recognized text. The ability to customize background colors, including using dark mode, is a fantastic feature that helps reduce eye strain and enhances overall user experience. Additionally, setting up UPDF was entirely easy, which I greatly appreciate. These features, combined with its affordability compared to Adobe Acrobat, make UPDF an excellent choice for my needs, leading me to highly recommend it to others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UPDF?

I definitely feel that UPDF can improve on having the dark mode background color customization available on mobile devices. Currently, it's a feature I wish were accessible, especially on tablets, as this would enhance visual comfort and appeal. Another concern I have is with the auto form feature; it tends to create unnecessary boxes in places while failing to detect fillable form boxes where needed. This makes the form-filling process less efficient and occasionally frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marketing UPDF of UPDF

We're thrilled to hear that you are enjoying the various features of UPDF, such as OCR recognition, fillable blank boxes, signatures, and cloud integration. We appreciate your feedback about the lack of dark background and color options on Android, and we will definitely take that into consideration for future updates.
