For us, the most important factor was that UpCloud is a Finnish-based company, with datacenters/PoPs available around the world. So far, their customer support has been superb. They’re genuinely helpful and will assist you in solving issues, whether it’s day or night. Pricing for the services is very affordable and has helped us grow faster against competitors who rely solely on huge hyperscalers like Azure or AWS. Performance—both the network and the infrastructure itself—has been stable, and we haven’t faced anything unusual so far. That said, the UI/UX could use some improvements. For example, it would be great to have an option to see system resource usage directly on the dashboard. The same goes for user password resets: even though it’s quite well documented, I still find it hard to understand why this can’t be done with a simple push-button option directly on the dashboard. So far, we haven’t needed the integrations or AI tooling, since we run on very basic infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about UpCloud? I think the biggest weakness is the UI. I don’t see this as a major issue—or something more IT-focused, technical users wouldn’t be able to work through—but as we welcome more "mudbloods" into the tech world by making everything low-code, no-code, whatever-code, I can see it becoming a problem. Their dashboard is clutter-free, intuitive, and easy to navigate, and their customer support is truly top-notch. All of their plans, including the “Starter” option, perform very well within the resources that are allotted. The UpCloud API is robust and straightforward to integrate with existing tools, as well as with bespoke scripts. UpCloud Essentials are a welcome set of free services that help augment the foundation of any project. The price is 100% worth it for what you get. The only thing I’ve found that I dislike, even if it’s minor, is that their documentation isn’t always fully reflective of the current implementation of their services. Originally, we relied on several different companies to handle our workload: object storage was completely separate from our virtual servers, and some of those virtual servers were even spread across multiple providers. UpCloud’s offerings have made it easy to bring everything under one umbrella, and we’ve been able to streamline our software performance by taking advantage of the internal networks between each server. The price/performance for the services are excellent. When we need support, UpCloud responds very quickly and you always get a knowledgeable member of staff on the case. is excellent. Unbelievable uptime which is great for our mission-critical workflows. Deployment of our infra is done via Terraform modules, which makes integrating UpCloud into our stack a breeze. The Control panel is also quite easy to use, and makes deploying, or resizing resources very easy. We were also very happy that UpCloud started providing GPU servers, which we use for our in-house AI workflows, and related development projects. We have enough confidence in UpCloud that we have no hesitation in advising our customers to also choose for UpCloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about UpCloud? Some people may dislike the UI, as it can appear less slick than the big hypervisors, but I prefer time spent on function rather than form. Navigation on the UI can do with minor tweaks. We migrated to UpCloud from a more traditional VPS, and since moving to upcloud we have an increase in availability and spend less time keeping things running. This also saves some money.
