## Unity Reviews
  ### 1. Currently the best game engine

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

I love that it is effortless to get into - and there are a vast amount of resources and communities to support you every step along the way. Also, it is a well-equipped and fully featured game engine to create any type of games - from @d mobile titles to AAA console games.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Currently, there are too many features that are half-baked and confusing. Also, it is surprising that a game engine of its stature still doesn't have (built-in) good lighting and a well-rounded networking system.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create any game imaginable with unity: card games, hyper-casual, multiplayer shooters, story-based educational games - anything. I have realized that it is a highly flexible engine with good support from the community.

  ### 2. Best Devp. Platform for Developers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammad Hassan z. | Research Assistant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity 3D is best in kind of game development and specially for 3d games. Apart from that integration of visual studio apart from mono development, you can access alot of cool features.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Overall unity 3D is best but rendering the 3d object still lags in features. It needs to be improved.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

Yes 100%

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have worked on object character rendering integrated with 3d room view.

  ### 3. Unity is where one Indie Dev starts!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity Game Engine is the top preferred choice for every Indie Game developer. You might have heard or read it somewhere or the other. It's true. Reasons? Well, there are countless reasons. Unity Engine is effortless to use for new budding game developers. There's many features/services Unity provides that never will you think why didn't I choose some other engine to start with. Unity has its Asset Store that offers millions of assets you can try, its own native version control system: Unity Collab, which lets you and your teamwork on the same project; it has its own XR SDKs that enable you to develop XR applications. Unity is like a perfect solution for every Game/XR developer. Unity's community is massive. That means other members faced 99% of the errors you face, and you are sure to find its solution in Unity forums/StackOverflow. Unity has detailed documentation available online. In short, Unity is the best!!!!!

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

There's nothing, to be honest, I hate about Unity. I have been working on Unity for the last two years, since then, I never thought of shifting from it.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a Game and XR developer. I use Unity Game Engine to develop games on different platforms (Android, PC, iOS) and make AR/VR applications. Unity is easy to start use and less complicated, and a lot of games like COD mobile, Genshin Impact, are made in Unity etc. It is a light software as compared to other game engines like Unreal.

  ### 4. Unity is the best software for making games.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity has lots of packages that are free for developers to use. The best feature is that you can develop a game for any platform and convert it for other platform with just one click.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

You cannot use any external library from an external source which makes it difficult sometimes for developers. If the background running resources could be minimized it would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

You cannot go wrong while using this software. It's the best in the market.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Unity to develop several games like new mario and more. It is helping my company to make good games and earn revenues from them. Due to Unity, the growth of my company has increased so much.

  ### 5. Easily create games with the help of Unity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ABHISHEKTA S. | Graphic Design Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

It's easy, and single indie developers can make games with the help of Unity. Mobile, VR/AR or even AAA quality PC games can be made with it. And I use it to make 2D games via Bolt visual scripting.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

There is nothing to dislike about Unity. Community support is excellent, and documentation is proper and accurate; there's nothing to dislike.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Unity to make 2D hypercasual games at Brahmos Interactive. I also use it for my projects have been using it for two years now. Unity is a great tool that can help you make games rather than making a game engine.

  ### 6. No better engine to start Your Game-Dev/ XR journey than UNITY!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity is very easy to use for any newbie. I started my own Game Dev journey with Unity Game Engine and even after approximately 2 years I still consider it my first choice when it comes to Game Development or making XR apps! The Unity Collab feature is very handy (although it doesn't provide the branching system) yet very useful for small projects! I highly recommend Unity to everyone out there interested in developing games! Most relevant solutions of problems are available on forums. (Unity Community>>>>)

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Unity Collab doesn't have a branching system that any basic version control should have. Unity sometimes weirdly crashes and then I have to forcefully close the app from Task Bar. The Unity documentations are not up to date and thus sometimes takes me a lot of time to figure out the process on my own. The UDP & CCD doesn't have any proper documentation over the Internet.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been using Unity for almost 2 years now. I use Unity to develop AR applications and developing games.
Unity allows building an application from Android to iOS with just a single button click!
Provides all the necessary packages

  ### 7. Unity Development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Unity?**

One of the most interesting features of unity for beginners is the fact that you can use, buy and import all sorts of assets and plugins directly from the asset store.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Unity does not support all sorts of programming languages and uses mostly c#. Sure, you can use some scripts in other languages, but if you don't code in c#, you will have to learn it.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unity is a very good tool for accelerating the process of creating games and simulators because you can use all sorts of plugins that helps you fish your progress without having actually to program every single thing you need.

  ### 9. The best engine for newbie game developer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Unity?**

If you are new to game developing, there are too much training materials about unity. Also there are huge extensions for unity.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

You need to have licenses for the best graphics and performance improvements. Licenses are expensive to buy. If you want more feature, licensing can be too expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

If you are new to game developing, unity is the best engine for you. You can easily learn the basics of unity.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm not experienced with game developing before starting to use unity. Unity's community helped me to learn and improve my game developing skills. There are too much tutorial about unity.

Unity is the perfect game engine to start with for every budding Game-developer. It is simple but has numerous features. Unity is also a preferred choice for AR/VR developers for developing MR content which is so popular these days. Unity has a large community, so it's highly likely, any error or bug you face, are faced by other developers, hence solutions can be easily found on Unity Forums or StackOverflow. Integration of SDK plugins is very easy and hassle-free!

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Unity Collab (Unity's native version control) is bit slow and does not support branching. However, you can use PlasticSCM or Git as your version control.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Unity for developing 3D games (I'm myself a Game Developer) and also making AR/VR applications.

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity runs super smoothly and is brilliantly designed and conceived and really packs a power punch as a game engine.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Nothing that I can think of. Unity deserves an A+ rating I feel. Everything runs very smoothly with the Unity engine.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was converting a game from Cocos 2D to Unity.

  ### 16. The Best Game Engine out there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Awal R. | Unity Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

The best thing about Unity Engine is the flexibility to anything and everything you could want for your game. Unity allows its users to make games and 3D applications, Augmented Reality applications, Virtual Reality applications, and the whole new world of 3 dimensions.
The ease of coding in C# allows programmers to get used to it quickly, and it will enable Object-Oriented Programming, which is a cherry on top. The ease of creating UI has helped me to make applications for all kinds of devices ranging from android, ios to gaming consoles to Desktops.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

The only downside of Unity is that you need to get familiar with all the physics systems, Libraries, different windows that it has, and the navigation into other tabs. Other than that, once you are through, you would rather enjoy yourself creating games and AR applications for yourself or the whole community out there.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

Just get familiar with the principles of C# and once you know the basics you can dive into Unity and create awesome applications and games for the world. Go for it !

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have developed so many applications using Unity ranging from AR to the game to even WebGL stuff. Learning Unity has helped me get jobs in gaming startups and even helped me start working on my own startup!

  ### 17. A complete beginner friendly game engine

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Syed Zainul A. | Game developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity is a complete package of different tools to quickly prototype as well as scale your game for release. Unity uses C# as a scripting language. Unity is free to use with some limitations which makes it a good choice for indie developers. There are ton of resources, forums, documentation, and tutorials for unity so that even you are stuck, you can get help easily. Unity is cross-platform and can run on android, ios, windows, mac, Linux, Playstation, web, and all other platforms. Unity has two modes in Editor to view the game View mode and Game Mode. Developers can easily analyze and inspect the game objects while running the game and improve or fix bugs respectively. With Unity's URP package coming in, there is a huge graphics improvement that maintaining the performance.
Unity is a standard game engine for major mobile game development companies in recent times.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Unity is sluggish to run at times and the load times to boot unity is unbearable in some cases. Unity is not open source and completely free, so there are issues within the engine at times, so developers have to make a decision whether to upgrade to a newer version of Unity or not. Some advanced tools such as render textures, profiler are still not available for Personal Plan and developers have to pay $1500 for getting these tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

Look into documentation and tutorials. Make a clear idea of what you are trying to accomplish before jumping into the game Engine.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to make an ecosystem for Shooter games. With various plugins and packages that come with Unity, it reduces the development times for creating the internal system like physics, raytracing, character locomotion, the animation controller, and UI. Unity gives developers enough tools to focus on the gameplay rather than taking time to write basic physics, rendering tools from scratch.

  ### 18. Its the best we got but theres still lots of things to improve upon

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad F. | Unity Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

The biggest upside is C# along with Unity's component system. This makes it super easy to make whatever you want quickly. It also gets lots of support from third-party plugins. It has heaps of packages in the packages manager that really make the core editor much more lightweight when you have a small project.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

After using unreal. Unity does not have enough pre-built components to help you save time.

They also need to upgrade old components like character movement and UI Text to TextMeshPro. They need to obsolete quicker between major releases.

Unity of recently ripped-out features with no replacement for them to take their spot. Like Realtime GI (Excluding Raytracing) in HDRP and URP and a networking solution. They have plans but I was left high and dry with only a solution coming down the track.

They also need to make the leap and replace the default pipeline with URP and fix all the materials on the asset store packages or remove them.

Oh and we should be able to test the game in full-screen mode. UE4 does it. God knows why unity doesn't. Such a simple feature. I don't want to have to build to test fullscreen.

And they need better mobile device notch support so i can build my UI with a visual safe zone guide.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

Do it. If you want to make games start here.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unity is super beginner friendly which means my clients can jump in and mess around with values without getting bogged down by loads of technical stuff. They also provide cloud build which is essential to my pipeline as building locally is a massive time waster.

  ### 19. Best all-in-one game engine in the market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Àdam C. | Software Engineer III, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Getting started with Unity is extremely simple, and the number of online resources to learn and improve is huge. Even though starting with Unity is pretty simple, so is expanding the engine when you reach the point where the basics don't cover your requirements anymore.

Unity is the most used game's engine in the market, and that gives it some major advantages. There are many external users and apps supporting direct integrations with Unity, and expanding on its core logic.

Unity's internal development is very active, and they make sure to inform of any changes on their social channels, at conferences and other events. The development is very public.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Unity's focus seems to shift from time to time, and actual features may be delayed for long periods of time. Their focus should be more specific and should change a lot less.

Even though Unity started as a game-engine only, they are currently expanding to many other fronts, which also bloats the engine. They added multiple ways to avoid this, including the packages system, but many core logic still remains on the main core package, and the development time of newer features keeps expanding, as the usages have increased.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

In case you are not a developer yourself, make sure to check with technology people as to what are their preferences before putting all your eggs into Unity. Although is the best option, some specific apps or interactions may benefit from custom engines.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unity is mostly used for game development, although there is a huge market for interactive experiences. The starting runtime is heavier than a web-app or similar technologies but has support for a lot more intractability from the very beginning.

  ### 20. It's good

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrián H. | Interactive Media Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

You can target multiple platforms, and it is a very versatile tool for different purposes.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

It doesn't feel cohesive enough; a lot of features are abandoned even before being finished.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

Join the community!

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Interactive media and data visualization. Super simple to build something up.

  ### 21. Unity is the best engine for its ease of use and potential if you are learning to make games.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dídac R. | University Student, Gampelay programmer (Last Year), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity has all the necessary features to make a 3D game, and it's the easiest profesional engine to learn. This is based on the fact that Unity has tons of resources for starters and people who might know how to code but they've never used a game engine to make a game. Additionally Unity has everything you need to go and make a great game as it's not only an engine for amateurs or indies, we've seen this with great games such as Genshin Impact.
Another feature I really enjoy is the easy integration of middleware such as Wwise and FMod, which are almost essential when you are working on audio inside a big project.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

I dislike thathe engine can't be used as a Visual Studio project, having the ability to tweak some of the stuff programed for the engine, in this sense I would love that you could do as in an Unreal project which you essentially compile everytime.

The way it works as a .exe file is great for people who might not need to tweak the engine, but the very advanced users might greatly benefit from this kind of feature, since they will also know which are the liabilities that can arise from tewaking engine features.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

It would depend on their knowledge about game development, generally I would recommend to follow both official tutorials and Youtube tutorials on how to use the engine. Then I would recommend to learn C# over javascript for scripting. Finally once they have a grasp about Unity, I would recommend them to just try and copy mechanics they like about video games, since by doing so, they will not only become better designers and programmers but they will force themselves to understand all systems in detail, such as particles, animation, physics, AI, audio etc.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Unity to make both 2D and 3D games, to create a blocking for levels later used in other games or other engines, to learn all the features of Middlewares such as Wwise that I was able to use later on.

  ### 22. Currently the best game engine available out there in the market.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sudarshan S. | Game Developer / Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

1. Currently this is the only game engine which gives lot of pre made Api’s.

2. For a beginner Unity is highly recommended because lot of online active forums, you tube videos, lit of online blogs and resources are available. And apart from that unity has the best organised documentation for all their tools and Api’s, So it will be very easy for fresher/experienced dev to resolve their doubts/learn new things.

3. They give continuous support to there all versions of unity, if there is any major bugs then they do intermediate patch releases. So we can easily rely on unity.

4. After developing games building apps for specific platforms is also very easy.

5. Unity is not just a game engine, you could do lot of other things such as AR, VR or marketing related videos etc, so vast variety of options are available.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Compared to other engines, i dont have any points for unity. But i can mention some points which Unity can improve.

1. Should add some more memory management tools.
2. Should reduce default unity overhead.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

I highly recommend unity to everyone who is looking for an game engine. It has everything what it needs for a developer. And it is also very flexible so that you can implement your custom implementations very easily.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Im using Unity for game development, for making game apps for android and iOS platforms.
And also i have used unity for virtual reality projects.

So in all this work i had benefits from Unity, if i use the other game engine’s then I would have to do some extra work for taking build or while developing game.

  ### 23. Unity - A powerful engine

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Geoffrey H. | Self, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

C# support. Extensive documentation. Asset store has a huge selection of helpful and great content.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

You will be forced to do things a certain way. There's a lack of complete control as some classes are hard to extend or sealed.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

Check out Unreal and Godot also as good fits.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualizations and simulations. Rapid game development and prototyping.

  ### 24. I have an experience developing unity like 5 years

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Unity?**

It's compatible with any AR SDK like Vuforia, Wikitude, etc.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

I think the version update is too fast, and so many bugs.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I complete any of AR & VR project for my company

  ### 25. Great game engine software that has so many different uses.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Griffin F. | Stage Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

The ability to utilize their marketplace for established assets. Save a ton of time and money not having to build things from scratch. Using prebuilt scripts has given us the opportunity to focus more on UI and Design. There are a lot of open-source scripts and programs to utilize. I like that we are able to collaborate efficiently between teams. The new AR and VR features help us not only to navigate the new hardware but look at new features that we can implement into our software suites. The photo-realistic environments that are in the asset stores are amazing and we are able to find assets that work really well with our stage tools. Unity is one of the easier-to-use software suits compared to others.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Debugging can sometimes be a pain and finding solutions to errors can be troublesome at times. I do wish that the marketplace had more free features and assets to pull from. I do love the plug-ins but would like to see some better rendering tools and not have to rely on outside resources to make our photorealistic environments stand out.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

I would look into the marketplace before starting a project. There may be a lot of things that are already coded that you may be able to utilize.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving complex digital camera sequencing and utilizing the 6DOF platform within VR to create a virtual stage. Giving our directors and art department the ability to previse environments before they are built and camera blocking for storyboards helps save time and money in the real world by not making any costly mistakes.

  ### 26. 3 years with unity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Its support across various platform and community supports, and the new release always exciting with unique features and improvements

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Personally, I love unity and the downside would be the collaboration cost is high when you have team more than three and it would be great if pro available for much cheaper.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

Definitely would recommend to everyone coz of it's amazing tutorials and documentation easy for anyone to get started.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Training, simulations, prototyping, visualizations

  ### 27. Don't know where to start? Unity is here for you

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity is a fair young engine but it's fresh and continuously updated. It's perfect for new developers who doesn't have much experience in the field and the community is pretty solid

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

It could be a little overwhelming to get the best out of it if you don't know where to look or if you are using old version of the engine

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to create my first true videogame with my studio and it helped me a lot to understand better the videogame processes

  ### 28. Unity is great for starting up and jumping right into game dev

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Huge community, tons of plugins and features. I wouldn't have been able to learn as much without it. Also really like the coding integration.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Version control sucks. Maybe they have updated since I used it last, but its awful trying to collab with team. Integrating some type of vcs system would be great.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Start up for game dev in VR. Side gig trying to get something going. We are not benefiting financially, but trying to POC something.

  ### 29. Goto Game Engine. Unity.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2016

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Ease of use and interface. The Unity Asset store comes in handy.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

There's actually little I dislike about Unity, I can't seem to think of anything right off the top of my head. Unity has treated our studio pretty well in terms of development.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

There is an abundance of resources available to learning Unity. Make the most of the Asset store while you're prototyping.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N.A

  ### 30. Probably the best engine out there not just for games

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity is cross platforms and the engine development is making it attractive to differnty industries and not only the gaming one (e.g. healthcare, architecture, automation)

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Unity is constantly updating the engine, sometimes new features that gets sent to stable releases are not still ready yet. Sometimes the documentation for new features is lacking and can be frustrating

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating immersive virtual reality experiences

  ### 31. More than just a Game Engine

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rakib J. | Game Developer and Game Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

The best and strongest part of Unity is mobile game development. It's very easy to set things up and get going. Going from 0 to a least viable prototype takes very less time. The asset store is amazing

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

The physics engine is a pure mess. The collisions are super unpredictable sometimes and its very easy to get things wrong. The physics once broke so much that it randomly generated NaN values for my player position. For fast objects most of the times the object passes through colliders. I know ECS will have a new Havoc physics engine and I am excited for that.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been creating prototypes with unity. The turnaround time is really fast

  ### 32. Nice

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Unity?**

I love the features in this program. i did experience a bit of a learning curve but nothing that cannot be learned. Once you are up and running you can do many things almost intuitively

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

I didn't like the learning curve but that's a me thing. Not a program thing

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Can be quick and easyto do things once you have learned how.

  ### 33. Best Engine to build games

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity is very easy to use and learn. Just by learning the basics, any learner can build a good game.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Sometimes it takes a lot of Ram and hangs.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unity is very easy to build mobile games. Even without writing a code, a small game can be created.

  ### 34. For building mobile games there is no equal

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity allows you to focus on just building games vs building against specific platforms

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Cause Unity is an engine updating and upgrading and sorting through all the dependencies can be a real pain

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduce development cost since developers only write code once and can deploy onto multiple platforms: iOS, Android, Amazon.

  ### 35. Game engine & designing has never been so simplified.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajat M. | Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

As a beginner all I like is everything about this game design engine. The 3d feature the 2d features, the support forums, ease of coding and adding the scripts here. It does support a light-rig systems while designing. The integration of other support software like 3ds Max, Blender, Maya , c#, is just so terrific, you can simply add any 3rd party material editor like substance. The baking of light is again a great work too. Unity also helps you to launch your game for almost a free service, and its output files are pretty lighter to use.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

fixing the dimensions of the models in the game engine is a tedious task, as all you can do is scale the model up-down so it becomes bit tricky.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

Sharpen up your c# skills you gonna need it on your run threw unity.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I got introduced to unity while searching for making my 3d designs more intractable and integrating them with some app. But Unity turns out to be a platform for all our needs just at a single point.

  ### 36. Virtual Reality is not possible without Unity.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin F. | Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

It is very easy platform to use. All the options are there and no one needs to struggle to find buttons. All the things are clearly separated and is up to the mark. The main thing I like is the themes light and dark. As I am a specs person I need fonts to be clear and the is best in unity. The unity is also robust to use on any good config system. The files are easy to port and transfer. The project folder structure is also very well arranged. I really like the maximum of the features of unity.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Some time what I feel is that the library integration is the struggling part. I need to add and search library and need to install it. It fails sometime and need to do it again and again. And some time the scaling of the graphics lags a lot.
That can be improved. One more thing that can be improved about the unity is that it must give some documents and video to start guide. The documentation seems very complex for the new user.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

Yes it is good software and platform. I will definitely suggest others to use it.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solved a use case of my company. And I also mentored students on unity. The use case was to build a Virtual Eye checkup system to use with low cost and high performance. And unity proved to be the best. To build a VR model. It was very easy to demonstrate the model to the team. And was easy to update the build.

  ### 37. Great Engine for Solo Programmers and Prototyping Strange New Ideas

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

I like the ability do pretty much anything as most other engines can sometimes be limiting.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

I dislike the general workflow of Unity, It is not really made for large teams. In my experience within teams we have had to create specific structures so that we could work as congruently as possible but would still have to have merge phases to combine things like levels and such. I dislike the lighting in Unity as environments always have a darkness about them that make Unity games easy to pick out among other games.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

If you are a solo developer or a small team or just wanting to push the boundaries of games in ways that only Unity can provide then it is a great engine.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with large teams, is always an issue. We typically follow game object structures and patterns so we can easily combine parts and separate art and design into different levels. All of which is a hassle compared to other engines where this is not as much of an issue.

  ### 38. User-friendly, powerful and Industry standard

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shubham K. | 3D Artist ar/vr unity , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

useful assets store with lots of free assets.
a large number of learning resources are available on the web for free and paid.
really helpful community on unity forum.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Terrain engine lacking feature for creating procedural world creation
light bake needed improvement

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

User-friendly and easy to learn compared to other game engines
gives really fast good and competitive output

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

working in unity professionally for the past 3 years l have worked on projects from VR /AR to games and Previsualization for products
helping out client with progressive builds and with unity creating prototypes is a really fast and easy process

  ### 39. Easy to use, powerful, wditor scripting just makes it better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gaurav B. | Unity Developer & Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

You can write editor scripts to ease your workflow, it provides a lot of extendability to do what you want in a great way.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Monolith architecture you need to define your architecture at early stages of your project to scale else it makes it difficult once you reach a certain point in development lifecycle.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently i am working on virtual humans, i have realised it is not that easy but with third party assets, most of things you'll ever need will be available on the asset store as third party plugin.

  ### 40. Great engine for indies, programming knowledge required!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Shader graph, VFx editor and anim editors are simple but powerful

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

No graphical programming. Need to know C++ to actually make games or applications.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developing games, apps and marketplace content

  ### 41. Unity 3D: The most popular game engine (for a reason)

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bawenang R. | iOS Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Unity?**

- Ease of use
- Cheap and indie friendly license
- Newbie friendly (even someone with limited programming experience can use it)
- Pretty good asset store with abundance of contents and tools
- DOTS is a game changer
- Pretty good tutorial
- Multi platform

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

- Can be reverse-engineered easier
- No access to constructor and destructor of the Monobehavior class so Dependency Injection is hard to do
- The Linux Unity editor is not on par with the other platform's
- Scene files are hard to merge and to fix the conflicts within

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

The Asset Store is a great place to bootstrap your game faster. Use it!

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Developing my games
- Making an interactive display
- Making a virtual conference

  ### 42. awsome game development merium

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** LAVIN T. | Core Team Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Unity?**

the best thing is that you recover your thing if that software crashes. It is available in the student versions as well. it is giving actually the platform for the young creators to have a skill in it. and doing these stuffs your coding skill and designing skills are drastically improves. and coding is actually becoming a very important thing for the future.it has a personal animation feature which reduces time of animation of first animating in any software and then importing that animation in it which is a real cumbersome task.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

every time i start i have to login, it dosent save my creditials which is really a frustating thing for anyone. it has a very less set of short cut keys which consumes time. it dosen't support amny other programming languages like python, c , java, c++. it has only given acces to the most basic c# programming language.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It actually has now became an identity for me in my college. i have created many 2d and 3d games in it, the language which it uses is fairly good enough to understand. the physics is awsome, it actually creates a virtual world for you if used properly.

  ### 43. One of the best and cheap in the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Subrata S. | VR Developer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Unity?**

The best part about unity is the ease of access and the vast community it provides and apart from the support for both 3d as well as 2d game development it also provides tools for easy development in the field of AR and VR. The other great feature of unity is that it can be used by a beginner who does not know anything about game design and a pro who works on a AAA game equally. Even though unity is considered a game engine for beginners it has given some great AAA games which have gained great praise and popularity for example - Ori and the blind forest, Hearthstone, Cuphead and the list goes on.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Comparing to other game engines in the market specifically for 3d game development, unity lacks a little in terms of texture and materials and that takes away the realism from the visualization which is a result of an outdated graphic engine. The animation window also has some flaws which should be addressed .

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unity can be used for all kinds of game development and I use it for VR and fps game development. The tools provided by unity and its integration with other software and the vast libraries make it very easy to do development.

  ### 44. best game software

**What do you like best about Unity?**

it is the best 3d gaming software .it is easy to use .WE can easily code in it

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

adding the components and fixing the dimension bit difficult in it .

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

hepl to improve coding in c# and help in game developing skills

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

unity help in making the 3d game by it I can easily make a well developed game .....it is the best software for gaming devlopment

  ### 45. 5 year experience in Game development with Unity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manjeet S. | Principal Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

The easy-to-use intuitive UX. Kickstarting an idea with a good visual.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

The coding IDE. The connection of debugger with Unity Editor and Code-IDE.
The Unstable build of the editor, making it crash at random points.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Unity asset store, we can easily get the required assets to check any new game idea.
Quick development by using common modules which has been written before, this is possible because of component-based architecture.
The Visual and performance is of production level, which let us develop the full-fledged game for release.

  ### 46. Its free, continuously adding new features, cross platforms, most of the game industry use it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

  ### 47. Make games for fun

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

Unity through their updates have become a very powerful yet an easy engine to use. The ability to create custom tools to replace the Unity provided one's is probably the best feature to have as it gives the creator more control on what one wants to achieve.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

Memory management and garbage collection is poor. The constant blow up in size for png images during the build is also a concern.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

There are too many things inside the engine to explore and therefore can be overwhelmed. Start small and at the absolute basic.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coding using C# helps as it's easy to understand and powerful enough to create games. Bridging the gap between indie and AAA games by providing enough enhancements so as to make the product look polished.

  ### 48. 9 years using Unity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel G. | Senior 3D Artist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Unity?**

If you have a decent CG background Unity it is easy and the results are good.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

To much third party plugins to adapt the engine to your needing. Or extra dev.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

Focus on your own needings.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems, I am game dev, I use Unity to create games.

**What do you like best about Unity?**

The platform is easy to use with a customizable dashboard which allows multiple operations especially where games development is concerned.

They also have great and commendable features which are also in plenty even in basic free versions.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

The most common and discouraging challenge is the customer support team,it's a hard to reach them while in worst cases its impossible .

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

I therefore choose to recommend Unity to both developers and administrators of firms who majorly specify with games and animations creation.
This tool will greatly improve their projects and save them time and lot of capital.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the recent time Unity has allowed our firm to develop new games which are highly in demand hence promoting the wellness of our firm by maximizing profit.

  ### 50. Customer Service Doesn't Get Worse than Unity's!!!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shea S. | IT Manager/Lead Programmer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Unity?**

I love Unity, and I use it for all of my development. I have been using it for years and have purchased thousands of dollars worth of assets to help further my business' creations. I recommend Unity to everyone from beginners to experts interested in making any type of game. However, I would not recommend using Unity until they fix this bs customer service that they have. I am about to move to Unreal Engine.

**What do you dislike about Unity?**

I hate that Unity's customer service is the worst I have ever had to deal with. I emailed them a week ago about my account being locked out due to their stupid website refusing to send the code to my email. I have thousands of dollars of assets that I need access to a WEEK AGO, and they refuse to answer any of my emails!!!! I would not recommend using Unity until they fix this bs customer service that they have. I am about to move to Unreal Engine.

**Recommendations to others considering Unity:**

Don't get it until they fix their customer service.

**What problems is Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making games, mobile, pancake, VR/AR, it's great for all of it.
