Unit4 is a great product in terms of cost and funcationality. **What do you dislike about Unit4 Financials by Coda?** What's odd is that the pros of Unit4 could also be considered some of its biggest cons. As I previously mentioned, Unit4 allows a great deal of customization and flexibility in terms of installation, and individual customer builds. This flexibility also poses a threat for new customers to get lost in the weeds and venture too deeply into product customization (leaving them vulnerable to process breaks with standard software updates). **Recommendations to others considering Unit4 Financials by Coda:** You'll need a strong technical team to ensure the product is intuitive and easy to use for end-users. Existing SOPs are incredibly critical to a product launch like this; have them or take the time to create them to ensure everyone is following the standard processes and getting the most of the using the application. **What problems is Unit4 Financials by Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were in a contract with another ERP system that quite frankly wasn't meeting our needs and wasn't worth the price. Unit4 allowed us flexibility with expense location allocations that the other system simply couldn't, and they did so for a lower price. ### 6. Additionally, it comes out of the box with multiple methods to directly interrogate the database and post financial documents, eg. through Java API calls or direct links into Microsoft Excel. These capabilities allow you to rapidly develop custom interfaces for your customers. **What do you dislike about Unit4 Financials by Coda?** There can be significant setup required initially, but once you are over that major hurdle, creating additional masters is made much less tedious as existing companies and/or subsets of company masters can be copied and modified with ease. **What problems is Unit4 Financials by Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?** Unit4 Financials' handling of multiple currencies and currency revaluation has made setting up new international businesses and maintaining a single core Financial tool for an entire organization very easy to realize. The customizable nature of the tool allows you to create exceptions and special processing rules for specific situations without requiring system changes to the core tool itself, making it infinitely extensible. ### 9. I like the fact that once you gain an understanding around how the Masters, Selectors, Presenters, Reports work you can go and tailor everything according to your needs - you don't need developers support (unless you are after Bespoke functionality which is not part of Core CODA. **What do you dislike about Unit4 Financials by Coda?** It would be useful to have access to more business cases around how different CODA modules have been put at work by various companies. I set up reports for them, create new elements, matching masters, new users. I have improved in the way Finance are working by automating certain processes they had to do manually and it took a significant amount of their time. ### 10. The software is built to be menu driven. Mostly everything is grouped into areas that make sense, such as administration being separate from where you process accounting entries. Security can also be limited in many different ways. Depending on how the security is implemented, certain users will not even see the options to what they do not have access to. This makes it much easier for the user to understand where they can and cannot work. The software was built with functionality to accommodate growth into other states or other lines of business. Integration capabilities to both external and internally built software programs. **What do you dislike about Unit4 Financials by Coda?** The complexity of having to build separate "masters" for everything. An example is to build a report, you will need a selector master, a report master, possibly a hierarchy master and a browse report or presenter master. **What problems is Unit4 Financials by Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?** We replaced our old accounting system with Unit4 financials for various reasons. The time savings realized were tremendous from preparing financial statements to having to process expense allocations. ### 12.
