At its best, unified communications (also called “UC”) is just what it says – it enables better collaboration by unifying formerly separate modes of communication into a single, combined user experience. Email, text, and voice messaging work seamlessly with live voice, audio and video conferencing, and Web collaboration, in one interface, with “presence” notification to indicate your availability to participate.

**What do you like best about Unified Communications Applications?**

As our users are increasingly clamoring to work anywhere and everywhere, its becoming increasingly important to offer that level of flexibility. UCaas providers like Microsoft Teams, 8x8, DIalpad and Ring Central. These providers offer the user the ability to take their extension with them in the form of a software based phone, mobile app, or even browser based telephony. Additionally, UCaas includes features such as Video Conferencing and Chat services.

Price, Price and did I mention Price? UCaas can be expensive. With anything in technology that is aaS you can bank it being expensive. That price point reduces based on your purchased quantity.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Unified Communications Applications?**

Openscape software integrate users using voip (SIP based and hi-path), mobile users, desktop application and teleconferencing end points, seamless. This reduced costs and time organization.

**What do you dislike about Unified Communications Applications?**

The mobile application is ugly, have a poor user interface, with no integration with android/IOS UI design. Usage is not friendly and application hangs everytime, resulting in missed calls and lost meetings.
The integration with the integrated dialer does not exist, and a user cannot select where to place a call (mobile or app). If the user enable dialer, calls through mobile is not possible anymore.

**Recommendations to others considering Unified Communications Applications:**

If you need to integrate users from different platforms, this software is right to you. But if you need excellent mobile support, please wait some time for a improvement.

**What problems is Unified Communications Applications solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business have a requirement to integrate voip , video conferencing and mobile users. With openscape we can join a meeting using a mobile phone, desk phone or video conferencing end point seamless, reducing costs and improving meeting rooms usage.

  ### 6. We use Unify Web Collaboration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gordon M. | CEO and Chief Creative Officer, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2014

**What do you like best about Unified Communications Applications?**

The quality of the voice is great compared to most of the other systems we have used such as WebEx or Citrix. WE also have found sign-on to be relatively painless and screen sharing easy.

**What do you dislike about Unified Communications Applications?**

Really, the only downside are the issues that all IP collaboration systems seem to have, which are patches of latency that seem to depend on bandwidth.

**Recommendations to others considering Unified Communications Applications:**

We have a different VOIP system. I would recommend that someone buy the whole package from Unify as I think we miss out on some of the benefits of integration.

**What problems is Unified Communications Applications solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of our clients are dispersed geographically, so OpenScape Web Collaboration becomes a critical tool to take distance out of the equation when we really need to work as a group.

  ### 7. UNIFY Web Conferencing is solid.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

It can be integrated into your unified communications environment. As such it is best used as an extension to UNIFY UC. One click you can start a conference. No heavy bloated desktop software required. It's everything you need in a single click.

**What do you dislike about Unified Communications Applications?**

The video could be higher quality - but it may have been improved in the last few quarters.

Don't fall for the marketing hype of Cisco and Avaya. If you want quality UC products, including web collaboration, go with UNIFY.
