  ### 2. Unbound Local Pages - Explore & Expand your Search!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Radhika C. | Software Programmer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Unbound Local Pages is very efficient in structuring your searches. You can categorize your preferences according to the fields of the requirement and can let the 'Unbound Local Page' do its magic. It can also arrange your content searches based on the priority that you assign to the topics of interest.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Unbound Local Pages have complex search history management, which gets difficult over a long period. Their search Algorithms are composed so that all the history is present together, and segregation is a bit of work to do. Its AI search recommendations would require more well-defined search suggestions.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unbound Local Pages gives me the comfort of having my quick searches with superior accuracy. All of my frontline requirements are populated, and my categorization of each field specification is also right on target. When you have a well-organized SOP, the efficiency of the research and exploration that you can do using Unbound Local Pages is astounding.

There isn’t anything I dislike about this app. I have nothing negative to say.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I haven't been using it long enough to figure out what my problems with it are but so far I don't have any.

  ### 4. Bridgeline Unbound

Technical documentation needs to be expanded

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Commerce, both B2C and B2B

  ### 5. A Great Marketing Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alabi M. | Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2019

  ### 6. Frustrating Setup

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda M. | Senior Marketing Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

The best portion of the platform is the inline content updated and html inserts to keep you out of the backend code

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

With the prod, stage and dev accounts all looking identical it is VERY easy to make changes in the wrong environment and then have to redo your work repeatedly.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are hoping to have a more cohesive yet individual set of local sites. We have seen a slight dip in SEO due to pieces of code missing in the platform originally like language tags.

  ### 7. Long Time Customer

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex L. | Director, Information Technology, Real Estate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

I have been a Bridgeline client for a long time. The iApps product is pretty easy to use, and very flexible.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

The only thing I would say I dislike is the fact that their staff is constantly either moving projects or are moving positions. I had multiple project managers/account reps in the past 3-5 years, multiple developers, etc. generally it takes time for the new people taking over your account to understand where the project is, get familiarized with the processes, really grab a hold of the project and there is always a big learning curve. A couple of times I was suggested a project/integration that we already had and paid for because the account rep didn't know what we have already tried etc in the past.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use iApps for our WCM, it has always been pretty flexible for what we need.

  ### 8. Collaborative partner in web development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott B. | Director, Division of E-Learning, Non-Profit Organization Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

The Birdgeline team has been great to work with. They have persistently taken the time to understand our current systems, document needs and requirements for changes and enhancements, and develop and deliver innovative and reliable solutions.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Their approach project to project can vary, which can lead to inconsistencies. And any turnover in the development teams and/or project management teams can cause ripples.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Custom learning management system development, learning management system integration, CRM and e-commerce integration

  ### 9. great for marketing and business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

I like how I used it at to create a campaign for a cancer research campaign. We got it for the e-commerce function of it

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Not much I guess it can record cash flow better

**Recommendations to others considering Unbound by Bridgeline:**

Its great to use to for for setting up a campaigns for fundraisers, and if you will be taking money in during the campaign created and tracking every detail. What was extremely special about it is how its for E-commerce so we couldeasily make sale of products that contributed to the fundraising.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating a campaign and following funds coming in

  ### 10. Very little control over your own website

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha C. | Marketing & Operations Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2017

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

There are features meant to make things easier, and it is relatively easy to navigate. Seems like a plug and play system, which would probably be a good start for a novice. Once you get to more advanced features, iApps can fall short.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

I really don't like how little control you have. Things as simple as inserting a custom code needs to be implemented by them. It would be nice to have more ability to change things myself vs. having to contact someone to change them for me.

**Recommendations to others considering Unbound by Bridgeline:**

If you are not looking for much customization, this might be for you.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a website that understands our industry and can offer us the features we needed to fill this role.

  ### 11. Easy to use

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2017

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Makes scripting easy for beginners. It’s automated templates are very helpful for someone like me who runs every aspect of their business on their own.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Not very much for tutorials or instructions available but luckily it’s pretty self explanatory.

**Recommendations to others considering Unbound by Bridgeline:**

Try it out to see if it works for you

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This has helped with making my website more user friendly

  ### 12. N/A

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Staci N. | Retail Sales Merchandiser, Consumer Goods, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2017

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Its fairly easy, you can jump scripts on every page.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

You can't make product pages, you have to always use Commerce.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Don't go with this product.

  ### 13. Would be best used for simple, uncomplicated sites

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Easy to add new content & update it. With a small product catalog & content site, it would be very easy to manage product.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Files must be handled one at a time; cannot be handled en masse. Cannot copy filters and then alter them - each navigation filter must be done individually. Cannot clone products and then update. Each must be handled individually. Application tends to run quite slowly for us. Some expected functionality falls very short, such as blogging. We had to do a lot of custom code to create category pages, archive widgets, etc.

Initial implementation fell largely to our team, rather than the vendor. Rather than deliver a finished product, we were expected to create all content and navigation (we were moving an existing site into the platform). For small sites, this may not be an impediment, but for a large site, it is more difficult.

You cannot migrate staging updates to production (content & product changes). Everything must be replicated by hand in the live environment. This causes a lot of duplicated efforts, especially for larger updates.

It is difficult to do customization on the fly - almost all customization must be done by either highly technical house resources or vendor resources at additional cost. We are rapidly outgrowing the inherent functionality.

Built-in search engine is quite limited.

The UI is pretty buggy as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Unbound by Bridgeline:**

I wouldn't recommend iAPPS if you have a large highly customized catalog, or if you want to manage your customer database outside of iAPPS. It is est used as a complete solution for small business with limited product catalogs. If a great deal of your content strategy relies on blog functionality, I wouldn't recommend, as set up requires vendor development and is unintuitive.

There also seems to be a high level of attrition, which makes me wonder about the work environment.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Upgrading from a home-grown system that required IT intervention for almost all changes was really helpful for our marketing group. The ability to manage metadata on a page by page basis (including CSS &JS as well as SEO metadata) has been tremendously helpful for us, resulting in an increase in our organic SERPs translating to increased revenue.

  ### 14. iApps Content Manager and Marketier

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2016

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

iApps allows us to manage our website, blog, and deploy email campaigns through one unified platform.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

While support is often quick to respond, I feel like I need to reach out to support more than necessary. The presence of a robust online knowledge base would make day-to-day use easier.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A 360 degree online web presence. The ability to manage all facets of our online presence in one location is a great time-saver.

  ### 15. Comprehensive mid-level CMS; may limit some publishers creative flexibility.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

I think the UI is generally straight forward and has most of the CMS publishing features you'd like to have. I think the menu/directory structure for navigation management is intuitive and easy.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

The rigidity of the template-based page layouts. Development cycles are slow without an in-house developer who can develop and deploy new templates. We often have ideas that we'd like to try and then find we are constrained by the limitations of the page layout/content item system. Content items can be configured to achieve unique functionality, but it can be frustrated thereafter to continue to innovate.

**Recommendations to others considering Unbound by Bridgeline:**

Look at what you need and evaluate your own internal development capabilities. This CMS has a lot of the features you'd call 'requirements' but can be limiting when flexed too far.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a way to manage a professional-looking website without a true development resource working in a day-to-day capacity. iApps solved that with their

  ### 16. Powerful platform, but maybe too much

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Easy to use if you know what you are doing and where to look for content.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Not very intuitive approach to how things are organized. Always hunting for something since I don't use it daily.

**Recommendations to others considering Unbound by Bridgeline:**

Have a look at the admin tool.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick changes can be made by non technical users.

  ### 17. Not recommended for novices

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

iAPPS did make it pretty easy to create and manage new content. It lacks a lot of the advantage of plug-ins available for WordPress, but tends to make up for that with greater stability. The integration of an analytics suite into the platform also helps make this a real asset for someone who knows the business of content management and SEO.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Unfortunately, you are probably going to be on your own when it comes to making sure this thing serves your business. Bridgeline came in with a quote lower than any other potential vendor (we reviewed at least three others), and - what we liked best - it came at a fixed price. There is no such thing as a free lunch, though, and the end result was that the project took longer than they expected and, at the end, they gave the implementation short shrift. They gave only brief mention of key items required for our site transition, expecting on some level that those in a small business knew the ins and outs of web development like they did. The site functioned, but traffic dropped. They really should have spent more time being a thought-partner rather than delivering a mere technical product. You really have to have someone proficient with the details of search engine marketing and / or web development before even considering going with these guys - they won't look out for your interests and you have to be your own advocate.

**Recommendations to others considering Unbound by Bridgeline:**

Don't.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This review is about my experience with a prior employer. The benefits were that the site looked better and it was easier for customers to place orders - this replaced a pretty outdated site.

  ### 18. iAPPS Content Manager

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2015

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

It's simple. You can change the CSS and Script on every page.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

The image display is very outdated even though they recently updated it! instead of displaying the most recent items first, you get it alphabetized. Why? If just makes for more clicking. You also can't select more than one image at a time making deleting mass images very difficult.

When you're making pages you cant make product pages on this, you have to use Commerce. You also cant duplicate product pages, you have to make them manually every time so if a page lives in multiple places on your site you have to create them over and over and over again.

**Recommendations to others considering Unbound by Bridgeline:**

Make sure you get this developed for your needs. Take your time in the beginning and have a professional help integrate your business with the product.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We upgraded from a very primitive commerce platform. Maybe not go with this product.

  ### 19. Fickle CMS that does not suit our needs anymore

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2015

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

It is very customizable, but our enterprise has about reached the limit of its customization. It is easy to learn.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

It is not very user friendly and there are strange quirks, such as the fact that when dragging and dropping content items the window does not automatically scroll.

**Recommendations to others considering Unbound by Bridgeline:**

Consider other content management systems. There have to be ones out there that are easier to use than iAPPS.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a CMS to house all of our digital learning content. We have been able to use iAPPS to do so, but are at about the limit of what it can do for us. We are looking for something more plug and play.

  ### 20. Clunky and slow, lots of bugs

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2015

**What do you like best about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

It's easy to embed videos through our YouTube channel when we need to do so quickly.

**What do you dislike about Unbound by Bridgeline?**

Functionality is often cumbersome and feels like it involves more steps than necessary. Often the interface isn't working in certain browsers (I may have to use IE to load photos, but then Firefox to make text changes). Lots of bugs and crashes on our site. Our search feature is never working properly. Building out content/pages is chunky as well.

**What problems is Unbound by Bridgeline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking events more efficiently. Response site appeals to our client base. Won a few awards for the design/layout.
