**What do you like best about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

Unanet CRM by Cosential is still in an industry leader that checks most of the boxes we look for in a CRM. However, they continue to fall behind their competition with regard to integration of AI, ease of use, modernization of look, etc. Cosential is still fairly cumbersome, we struggle for firm-wide buy-in and everytime I login I'm stepping back to 2014.

**What do you dislike about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

Unanet/Cosential is a big, complex machine and it's difficult for them to implement sweeping changes but it desperately needs to get with the times. 

**What problems is Unanet CRM by Cosential solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unanet CRM is improving the efficiency of the marketing department with Publisher 4.0 and it is helping Business Development and Pre-Construction make better, data-driven decisions for the company and the opportunities we pursue.

**What do you like best about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

There are so many elements of Unanet CRM that I could touch on, but the easiest way to describe our use of the tool is unifying.   We have never been more in sync or more current with our opportunities, our pursuits and our strategic thinking.  Everyone from Unanet to the consultants we use to support our operations, help to create efficiency and strategic value.

2026: We continue to be supported and impressed by Unanet CRM.   This year we added the ProposalAI feature and have been working with that.

**What do you dislike about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

There is very little I dislike about Unanet, but if I were to call out an item or two, it would be the lack of integration on the Account Planning and Opportunity Planning elements.  The tools have so much potential, but lack the integration and reporting capabilities we are longing for.

I would like to reiterate that the Account Planning feature within Unanet continues to be weak, and I feel unsupported by any development of this key element of business development and marketing.   I would love to see Unanet place more emphasis on this feature.

**What problems is Unanet CRM by Cosential solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Completely changed our forecasting abilities and all around organization around pursuits/opportunities.  Our team is fully integrated and communicating.  Our opportunities are at the forefront of our business and when we meet weekly to review them, we are engaged, collaborating and on top of our workload.

2026: Unanet has become the go-to solution for our account management and forecasting.  All of our Business Unit Leaders are fully engaged in the process and our reviews and engagement continue to impress me.

Having one organized place to manage all my leads, contacts and opportunities is very helpful. Being able to have my coworkers access the same secure information is even better!

**What do you dislike about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

The "look" hasn't changed as long as I've been a user.  This may be a "plus" to some users but it seems a bit dated.

**What problems is Unanet CRM by Cosential solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping important leads and opportunities in front of us and tracked is helping our company to focus on the most important projects first.

I like the ability to centrally store everything in one place with Unanet CRM by Cosential. It helps our team members to embrace one process and it automatically ties into our already existing systems.

**What do you dislike about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

I find that Unanet CRM by Cosential is not customizable enough, leading us to do workarounds which is causing many people to not follow our established processes. They're having to do double the work and entry, and information is dying. It feels like we're often the last to be thought of for adoption, and it's frustrating that Unanet isn't willing to put more time and focus on making it better for the customer experience.

I like the flexibility Unanet CRM by Cosential has for customizations, workflows, reporting capabilities, and standardizing processes. These features are really valuable because our firm has unique ways of categorizing information.

**What do you dislike about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

I wish that forms were available on the project side. Our firm doesn't use Opportunities, so a lot of the recent improvements have not been relatable. We need to be able to collect missing project information once a project lifecycle is complete, and we have to do that right now through publisher/word and it is not the best way.

**What problems is Unanet CRM by Cosential solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unanet CRM by Cosential eliminates the issue of scattered project data and offers flexibility in customizations and workflows, which is valuable for our unique data categorization needs.

I like that it’s fairly easy to use, and when I do run into a hiccup, the support staff is usually quick to respond.

**What do you dislike about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

Currently going through a CRM and ERP integration. I have found it to be a little difficult with the number of fields both the CRM and ERP have, and knowing which fields correlate to what. Especially since we have modified our fields. Keeping data up to date and current can feel like a chore at times. I’ve come across plenty of duplicate entries in our CRM, whether that’s from multiple users adding the same entry or from other sources that create repeats.

**What problems is Unanet CRM by Cosential solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I LOVE the self-import tool! I’ve already used this feature countless times. Being able to add contacts and companies within seconds has made maintaining data so much easier. However, filling out multiple templates is time-consuming, especially when you’re importing 100, 200, or 500+ contacts. I do wish the templates were more like the previous import templates, where companies, contacts, addresses, mailing lists, etc. were all together, which would make the task even quicker.

I like the reporting feature of Unanet CRM by Cosential since we're trying to maximize our reporting efforts. I appreciate how it centralizes all of our data, which is incredibly helpful. I like the scalability aspect of it, which is important for our growing needs. The platform is fairly user-friendly considering the size and amount of data we handle. As a user and now an admin, I found it fairly easy to navigate.

We currently have too many hands in the cookie jar. People have entered incorrectly causing duplicates, reports missing data because data isn’t entered correctly.

What I like best about Unanet CRM by Cosential is its ability to centralize our business development, marketing, and proposal efforts in one place. It gives our team better visibility into opportunities, client relationships, project history, and go/no-go decisions, which helps us work more strategically and efficiently. I especially value the reporting capabilities and how it connects marketing activities with pipeline tracking, making it easier to support leadership decisions and long-term planning. The platform also improves collaboration across offices and teams by keeping information consistent, accessible, and organized.

**What do you dislike about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

One of the biggest challenges with Unanet CRM by Cosential has been the implementation and support process. While the platform is powerful, setup can be complex, especially when trying to align CRM data with existing ERP systems like Unanet AE. We experienced delays in resolving support requests, limited communication on issue status, and difficulty getting clear ownership of open items. Some workflows also require more manual steps than expected, and customization can be less intuitive than it should be. Stronger onboarding, faster support response times, and better visibility into issue tracking would make the overall experience much better.

**What problems is Unanet CRM by Cosential solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unanet CRM by Cosential is helping solve the challenge of disconnected information across business development, marketing, and project teams. Before implementation, opportunity tracking, client relationships, project history, and proposal data often lived in multiple places, making it difficult to maintain consistency and make informed decisions quickly. By centralizing that information into one system, we have better visibility into our pipeline, stronger go/no-go decision-making, improved reporting for leadership, and more efficient proposal development. It also reduces duplicated effort, improves collaboration across offices, and helps us make more strategic decisions based on real-time data rather than manual tracking.

I use Unanet CRM by Cosential for BD and marketing, and I find it to be a powerful tool. It really builds collaboration and insights into our sales processes. I appreciate how it works with various features like opportunities, companies, projects, forms, and workflows. It's nice that it integrates with other tools and software such as Open Asset, ADP, our website, SharePoint, the office directory, and BST.

**What do you dislike about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

I really wish they spent more time fixing the small issues. The dashboards need an update to their infrastructure. Reports tend to time out and don't allow for complex filters.

I really enjoy being able to keep all of our data in one program. I also appreciate its ability to generate graphs from that data, and the flexibility to run different reports depending on what I need, without having to create an entirely new report each time.

**What do you dislike about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

I’m still new to the program, so I’m not familiar enough with it yet to have many dislikes. If I had to point to one area, it might be the resume generation, although I still think that feature is a good fit for a smaller firm.

Keeping all aspects of a project lifecycle in one program makes it easier for different departments to access the same overall data. It’s also simple for each department to input their piece of data and then have everything available in one place for a clear bird’s-eye view.

I like the reports in Unanet CRM by Cosential. They are helpful for running multi-factor searches, like finding superintendents with athletic experience and over 5 years of experience. This feature is really useful for us.

I think integrating more workflows could help keep data up to date and reports current. Opportunities are not getting converted to projects in a timely fashion because it currently relies on a manual human process.

Unanet CRM by Cosential stores our data centrally for personnel, projects, opportunities, and events. It solves data accessibility issues by allowing marketing, business development, and project executives to search information easily.

We love how easy it is to enter opportunity records and navigate to them. We had VERY fast adoption of the Outlook integration!

The reporting section is lacking to me. I'd love to be able to directly query what I'm looking for without having to dig through the massive number of fields.

**What problems is Unanet CRM by Cosential solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of every client, opportunity, and event is critical. Cosential makes it simple to enter, track, and record records - it eliminates some of the psychological barrier of entering records because it meets our BD team where they work - mobile, desktop, etc.

I like the ease of use of Unanet CRM by Cosential. It's a real time saver as it serves as one source for data. I appreciate how it updates data across all modules instantly. It's also easy to search, and I value the reporting capabilities.

Not all fields are available to add on reports. All feels completed by a company using the CRM should be available on the reports. Initial setup is easy but time-consuming.

I find the lack of integration between Unanet CRM by Cosential and ERP to be a big issue. It was supposed to be fully integrated but it’s far from it. Most of the data doesn't flow automatically to ERP, which is disappointing. Also, the setup process was not easy. It's very clunky.

Unanet CRM by Cosential is hindered by a lack of integration with ERP, and we haven't fully adopted it due to its limitations. However, contact management is the best feature.

The ability to gather past history on pricing, companies, etc. is nice and typically easy to access.

**What do you dislike about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

Easier to update/edit information and details on projects. This can take a few extra click vs. something more streamlined. It would also be nice to have CRM Cosential connect with other internal software such as Foundation or ProCore. 

**What problems is Unanet CRM by Cosential solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unanet CRM helps to solve communication between internal and external personnel, it helps to keep track of information, and it helps to remind and show estimating stats to everyone. It is also a very good tool to keep contacts or past clients in one location. Lastly, the user interface is easy to understand, edit and share with the team. I also like the way I can pull data out for personal and other team members - I also can see company wide info/details. This is very helpful when needing the info for financials, for contacts, sales, etc.

The forms could be improved. I'd like to use forms with other things and not just go/no-go forms. Additionally, the initial setup was not easy.

The user support has been incredible. Regional User Groups, the Unanet University... I am still learning but I feel very supported and like there are a lot of resources out there, and an open willingness to partner on any challenges.

**What do you dislike about Unanet CRM by Cosential?**

It seems like there are a few areas that could use some improvement. My company specifically has been talking about the mass upload of Opportunities (not yet available but coming), increasing the custom fields for Projects. We've encountered a few glitches like the Personnel connector overwriting data...

**What problems is Unanet CRM by Cosential solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing our opportunities in once place, helping us make informed business dev decisions, pipeline visualization and reporting.

We use it for project data management for the marketing department. Love that there is the potential to have our accounting and BD fold in and use the software.

It feels clunky at times. Multiple steps for things that should not be.

The chat feature with Champ. I am excited to be able to find information quicker and bypass reporting.

Unanet is designed for construction firms. It helps builders track and manage leads, close deals more quickly, and use real-time data to manage and maintain existing relationships.

The platform is branded as fully customizable and this is definitely the case, but scaling is an issue with many platforms. I could envision better scaling regardless of the business size or type for UNANET in the future.

The ease of implementation is one of Unanet's outstanding features. The learning curve is almost eliminated.

I really like that our company can easily track our pipeline and sales.

The search function is very convoluted. If I search for a specific proposal number and/or associated addendums, the matches seem to be in a random order and not numerical/alphabetical. For example if I search for proposal 240400, the results I receive are, in order, opportunity 240400, a company not associated with the proposal, project 240408, opportunity 242040, opportunity 240400 TO3, opportunity 240400 TO1, opportunity 240400 TO2, opportunity 240400 TO4. How does this order make sense? It makes it very difficult to find all opportunities associated with a proposal number.
