"Best tax software for small business"

What do you like best about UltraTax CS?

My favorite thing about Ultra Tax is the import feature. This allows a huge time efficiency for clients. You have to check all the imported amounts but if you map it correctly it's a huge time saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UltraTax CS?

The part of ultra tax I dislike the most is the data sharing relationship updates when they continue to populate when any changes are made. This should be able to have a built in feature to access or not. Also the price is costly for the service but you get what you pay for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about UltraTax CS?

I like how user-friendly the software is, and how easy it is to teach how to use it. I appreciate how easy it is to get support from the company on this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The only thing I would say I dislike about this product is that you have to pay for out-of-state returns to be added to your software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Do not hesitate to switch from your current tax software to UltrataxCS, especially if you already use FilecabinetCS as the two make it easier to keep records and access prior year tax returns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UltraTax CS solving and how is that benefiting you?

Ultratax allows us to file tax returns easily, file them directly into FilecabinetCS, or email them directly to the client if needed. We are able to serve clients internationally because of the ability of the program to add foreign returns as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The support team is very helpful. They are always very patient. And they do webinars for new updates each year. They listen to customers' suggestions and make updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UltraTax CS?

Can't open multiple windows at the same time. Can't open same client for different year. During the business season, the wait time for customer is very long. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Support has really deteriourated"

What do you like best about UltraTax CS?

The software is pretty accurate, in general. It is easy to see the effects of your entry on the tax return. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UltraTax CS?

Support this year (TY2016) is HORRIBLE! We left LaCerte because of expense and poor support. Ultratax is now just as expensive and the support is worse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering UltraTax CS:

Look somewhere else. 40+ minute wait times trying to get support is unreasonable. They also only take product improvement suggestions via a web interface that has so many things going on your suggestions get lost in the shuffle. I am really getting the sense that they don't care about me at all. Their cost is really high also. We do tax returns for 20+ states and the PRP costs are killing us. The reporting features are also very limiting. I liked TaxWorks reports and customization a lot better. Sometimes find where to enter data is not very intuitive to me. Of course, I have only been using the product for 4 years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We prepare tax returns for approximately 1000 clients. Doing the typical things works great, but there are some tricky corners in multi-stake returns that we need support on from time to time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
