What do I dislike..... EVERYTHING...Support is awful knows absolutely nothing. We are an inhouse tax department and only have to file 1 return for federal and a bunch of states. Let's just say it would have been quicker to do it by hand and using excel. We have to make alot of adjustments for our state returns because we are a partnership and HEAVEN HELP YOU if you have to make adjustments. Buying this software was the biggest mistake. I am basically having to over ride most of the tax return in the form screen. I also, have to reallocate most of the special allocations even though I have the box checked to keep them the same as the federal. Also, waiting forever for anything to download and/or print is insane. I spend so much wasted time waiting on returns to print so I can check them since using the form view does not give you all the statements, etc. Also, paying for useless support.... What I like best is how easy to use Ultra Tax CS is, it is very user friendly and easy to navigate. I enjoy being able to catogize information and click through diffrent tabs to enter in information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We switched to the virtual office product at our sales persons recommendation. This was the worst mistake we have ever done. At first it was great, but Thomson Reuters has not taken care of their customers with numerous outages and slow performance. We have missed deadlines and had to send staff home because the Thompson Reuters servers keep going down or have issues. It is time to look for a more reliable vendor. Tax season is 13 weeks of high intensity work. When you have an arrogant vendor that doesn't care about its' customers it is time to move on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hidden fees. Misleading sales practices. Inaccessible / unavailable poor support for which you are charged if you have the time and patience for a one hour plus hold. Basic features not present. I love how quick it is to file returns on these programs. I work in a small accounting firm and during tax season Ultra Tax is our go-to program to file tax returns. Unfortunately, over the past year or two Customer Service has gone downhill in courtesy and, worse, in knowledge and technical skill. The wait time this year during slow season is over an hour (and counting) and will probably be worse during busy season. Being in the service industry we are used to a certain level of goodwill during business related conversations, as well as competence and knowledge, and a wait time that does not waste a greater part of a day. I like that it is pretty simple to use and input taxpayers income and deduction information into the tax software. There are specific breakdowns for each category and it is all well organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Most topics you are trying to find are where you would think they would be. I like that you can go to form mode, right click and take it back to the input mode and it will take you to where this is pulling from. I like the Diagnostics feature as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think that a “tutorial” could be very helpful for new users. While I use the search/help feature sometimes, however think that this could be more beneficial if synonyms were used to find results. An example of this is when I was looking for the energy efficient car tax credit, but instead of “car” the system had it as “vehicle”, therefore it did not pull up in my search results.
