What do you like best about UltraFinder?

The powerful ability to search for complex strings in a simple interface Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UltraFinder?

It doesn't integrate as a simple Windows Search replacement in the start menu Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering UltraFinder:

Windows has a built-in search. It's free. UltraFinder is not, but UltraFinder should be what Windows seach is. There's no comparison. Even with the price, UltraFinder is the replacement to use. We are able to find files and directories that we were previously unable to find with other search solutions. I've used other IDM programs, and not only are they solid and reliable, they have the features that are useful in the real world. Since I'm able to use more complex search criteria, I've been able to utilize a search now where before it would be manually going through directories looking for a file that we didn't have much to go by. Sometimes just a name and date aren't enough, and UltraFinder takes those searches much further with more specific search options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UltraFinder solving and how is that benefiting you?

In an environment with a continuously growing number of files and directories, UltraFinder makes is easy to find anything in your computer. It can scan locally and on your network just as easily. We've found that the complex search features make it a great tool to locate files where we may know multiple, unconnected expressions in the name. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"When you want more than the built-in Windows find feature"

What do you like best about UltraFinder?

Ability to search across multiple drives/mapped locations with one search Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UltraFinder?

I do not see a way to search by date/time stamp. I needed that the other day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering UltraFinder:

Consider the IDM All Access subscription. I changed to the subscription to get all the great IDM products. I had been using UltraEdit for years. I persoanlly think that All Access is a great value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UltraFinder solving and how is that benefiting you?

Unfortunately at times I know I have a file saved but cannot remember where. I may remember part of the file name or contents but cannot remember if I saved it on my local drive or one of several network locations. UltraFinder lets me search all the various locations at once. "Fast search on desktop"

What do you like best about UltraFinder?

I really appreciate how quickly I can find text in files. Most of my work is with text files and it is convenient that I can load any found item in UltraEdit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UltraFinder?

This is a Windows only product and it would be helpful to have Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Just overall great and finding stuff being it by content or by filename Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UltraFinder?

Seems like BareGrep from BareMetal Software finds stuff faster when searching for stuff by content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
