Unlike most other text annotation tools, UBIAI enables to annotate native and scanned PDF thanks to their OCR, and the coordinates of the bounding boxes for each word are available (which could be useful). Moreover, the User Interface is good, UBIAI is very attentive to user feedback and needs, and there is a discount for students/researchers. Even though this tool is already great, they are still things that could be improved (and they might be improved in the future). When using the OCR, you cannot do character-based annotation, only word-based annotation split based on white spaces, therefore as an example, "it's" or "this)." is considered as one word, so we cannot just annotate "it" without "'s" or "this" without ").", which is a drawback for me.
