The cancellation functionality is very nitpicky and one-sided. The drivers cancel all the time, but even if you accidentally hit the button, you're still on the hook (or a toddler got a hold of the phone, or you miscalculated the number of people in your party, or you needed to wait an extra few minutes before your ride - there are any number of reasons a quick "whoops" allowance shouldn't cost anything). Are you telling me that's a $5-$10 "inconvenience" fee for a three-second mishap? Why doesn't it work the other way, then? The driver gets to cancel, but do you get any kickback as the customer? No. Wait timer starts over and you are SOL, so your only choice is to just wait as the clock starts over and maybe the next driver shows up.
