**What do you like best about TYPO3?**

TYPO3 delivers, out of the box, all the essential features you’d expect from a modern CMS: content elements, a form builder, multilingual and multisite support, user and role management, a hierarchical sites and pages tree, high performance, and long-term stability—just to name a few. These capabilities are not third-party add-ons but core, built-in modules.

In addition, TYPO3 includes its own internal PHP framework that allows developers to build extensions in a consistent and unified way. This architecture ensures better compatibility and performance, even when numerous extensions are installed. It leverages technologies like the Doctrine ORM, Symfony’s routing component, and adheres to most PSR standards, that make it comfortable for developers.

In short, TYPO3 is more than just a CMS—it’s a full-fledged PHP framework with a modular and extensible backend. It has strong foundations and encourages best practices throughout, making it a solid choice for both beginners and experienced developers alike.

**What do you dislike about TYPO3?**

At first glance, TYPO3 can sometimes feel complex, and certain solutions may seem difficult to implement. However, in most cases, this complexity arises when attempting to take shortcuts or apply bad practices. TYPO3 enforces structure and encourages doing things the right way—which can be frustrating for some, but rewarding for those who embrace it. That’s exactly why TYPO3 has both passionate critics… and devoted fans.

**Recommendations to others considering TYPO3:**

Better to use this for huge projects only

**What problems is TYPO3 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intranets,
Large websites with a lot of contributer and/or frontend users,
Small website when Wordpress getting too much expensive or inefficient.
When I'm too lazy to build something from scratch with Symfony.
