The immediate benefit was making our surveys look modern and feel more like an interactive conversation, which we hoped would lead to better engagement. However, this benefit was completely erased by the new problems the platform created. The lack of bot protection on affordable plans meant the tool that was supposed to improve our data collection ended up creating a data integrity crisis for us, with spam submissions polluting our results and wasting our ad spend. Truly a solid form builder all around, modern design, good feature set, visual automation designer, but excluding CAPTCHA on all but their "growth" plans is \*crippling\*. More on this in the dislike section. Again, good ease of use, ease of implementation, and ease of integration. Form builders are central to what we do, and plays a pivotal role in lead generation for us every day. None of this matters, however, when you're getting overwhelmed with bot and click farm form fills. Their customer support was good, but there's nothing they can do to help you with an policy driven, intentionally crippled product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Typeform? CRIPPLEWARE ALERT TLDR: AVOID THIS BUILDER unless you want to pay $199/m or $349/m for a builder WITH essential CAPTCHA to protect you from an avalanche of fake leads/form fills. We spent a lot of time tuning our elaborate array of forms only to realize afterwards that CAPTCHA (or any other bots protection) is purposely withheld, and not available as an addon on any of their standard plans. When you go to their website, there's a link to their pricing in the main nav. None of the plans on this page have basic bot protection. Bots/AI is a growing problem. You have to click on a small button/tab to go to another page with their only two usable "growth" plans. They are fully aware that none of their "core plans" are viable for any of their customers due to how disruptive it is to deal with overwhelming bot traffic. It's even worse if you run PPC ads, since bot form fills will count as conversions, cost you money, and train your campaign algorithms to look for more bot traffic. Again, if you are counting form fills as lead conversions in ads, you will be paying for these fake leads and training your campaign to go get more like them (more bots leads) because Typeform won't allow you to filter these out unless you pay for their top tier plans. Not a \*single other form builder\* gatekeeps CAPTCHA, and many even include it in their free plans, which is generous. Why? Because they known their products aren't usable without it. CAPTCHA is a Google service that costs Typeform very, very little. They know their product is unusable without CAPTCHA. Sadly, most people will find this out once they have fully built out and refine their forms, go live, and evaluate performance over a month or two. They will especially find it untenable to run ads with zero line of defense against bots. It's a real bummer they engage in bad faith tactics like this. We wanted to create surveys for our customers and users, which was quite easy. We subscribed for a plan for $55 per month (!) to get 1,000 responses. The admin panel always showed that there are new responses, on other surveys it showed there were no new responses although there were. The customer service knew about it and reported that it has been fixed, anyway it still wasn't fixed. Then it was claimed that it was due to the browser cache - but even though we cleared it and tried it with another browser, still the same problem. This way we were unable to check whether new responses have arrived or not. Useless service for a lot of money. The craziest thing: When we wanted to cancel our subscription, we were forced to go through a cancellation survey first. Without this, a cancellation was not possible! If you unsubscribe from their marketing, you can't receive notifications for when someone has filled out your form. Clicking "change settings" in any of their promotional emails doesn't direct to an email settings page, it instead directs to your Typeform workspace. The actual email settings page has only 3 categories for communication (product tips, company news, and coupons), all of which involve marketing which I don't want or need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Typeform? I am a Canadian Realtor running a decently sophiscated quiz. That being said, all was good until renewal time. At renewal, I tried to change my payment structure from annual to monthly. The system had no ability to make this change. I was hesitant to update my CC information knowing that my CC would likely be charged the annual upon submission. I therefore emailed the support desk and expressed my concerns. I was told that they would intervene to stop the annual charge and manually override it. Well, that didn't happen. I had the annual charge show up on my CC of which I asked for them to immediately reverse. They did so and also billed me for the month. The problem is that with the currency conversion - USD to CDN, I was shorted approximately $40 CDN as a result of currency conversion. I escalated this issue again with the Typeform team. I don't really care about the money but out of principal, this is a major fault. I told them to inform their development team of the issues and to simply refund me the amount owed. They insisted that it was my bank that was to blame. I agreed that the conversion is the problem but the inability to change my payment cycle to monthly was the culprit. Thanks for your honest review here and we're very sorry to hear about this. In some cases it is only possible to switch the billing of the plan with the manual workaround you experienced. We are working on making transitions like this smoother, so sorry if it lead to a frustrating experience this time around.
