"Great for Smaller Organizations"

What do you like best?

Have been using NWS ERP since 2011. Initial support has been great when needed. WIth the 2018 version of New World ERP, this will allow the product to no longer be legacy locked with Internet Explorer. The support for multi -browsers will be a welcome addition to the product. The new Managed Internet Update tool is also a godsend for ensuring updates to the platform can be provided in a more efficient manner.

What do you dislike?

When Tyler purchased New World Systems, there were some integration issues to how best to support the product. This showed itself when trying to keep track of tickets as well as ensuring they are followed up on. This is supposed to be improved with the 2018 release.

The limitation of only using IE as a supported browser has long hampered the product. With the "Unibrow" project coming with 2018, this will expand the usability of the product.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Reporting, such as Business Analytics and SSRS can be a very powerful tool in the hands of a user familiar with using it. However, more training does need to be provided.

"IT Perspective"

What do you like best?

Tyler staff providing the classes are very helpful, insightful, and are willing to take extra time to go over questions or clarification.

What do you dislike?

There is a new feature Tyler Identity and I am not sure how I feel about this feature. Definitley feels like there will be challenges working with this new feature.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

My recommendation would be to make sure you ask the right questions when it comes to making sure they can do what you need them to do. However, I think that this is overall whether it is New World or any other application because you can request for the application to do something but that does not necessarily mean it will actually do it the way you need it to. Also always ask (with any software) what is included in the cost and what is extra because again going back to asking for a request they can say yes but will it be an additional cost?

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Business benefits are being able to use one application to pay vendors, contractors, employees, and do the payroll for a large organization.

"New World ERP "

What do you like best?

The HR and Finance modules runs fairly smoothly most of the time. We have recently started using th Purchasing Card Import function and are pleased at how smoothly the transition was.

What do you dislike?

Customer support is lacking. When calling in with an issue I feel that some of the support technicians are not able to effectively solve or triage issues.

The elastic search in the Community Development Inspection Center has issues as well. We have had to revert to refreshing the indexer manually due to the issues we are having. The indexer runs smoothly for a week or so and then the issues start all over again. It's frustrating for us in IT and especially frustrating for our folks in inspections.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

do your research - test heavily to find bugs and issues.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

While the indexer is a problem we are pleased with the new Isnpections Center. Our inspectors were very hesitant to make the change but have since changed their tune. They are beginning to take their laptops out in the field to result inspections and have found that to be useful.

"NWS .net Product 2 years Post Migration"

What do you like best?

Moving from the as400 platform to NWS .net product has been a welcome change. Both from a user and an administrative perspective. A few of the things that have been most helpful include the reporting functionality of the softwares and ability to export into common file types. The continued development of new functionality and features added yearly through the MIU and year-end updates are also nice.

What do you dislike?

The need to set up an anonymous email relay rather than being able to push directly from the software with a secure connection.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Try to express the value of the on-site trainers during implementation / go-live.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The ability to manage our City's Municipal accounting, HR and Business licensing needs more efficiently. While our accounting staffing levels have remained the same; we have been able to not fill a position in our Business License office and HR Office due to a more efficient operation.

"New World ERP with Tyler"

What do you like best?

The most beneficial tool for me is using business analytics and how useful it is for producing day to day reports, inquiries, as well as our financial statements. Modules have been set up efficiently and I like all the continued improvements and developments to the individual modules and system overall. I am grateful to New World ERP's great customer service and the continued assistance provided by trainers and implementers that helped us from the very beginning.

What do you dislike?

I don't like how the system only allows a user to override one AP invoice item at a time.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have experienced a lot of time saved for producing out financial statements. This system has also helped us, quickly and efficiently, produce our annual budget. It is easier to monitor transactions posting to our general ledger, approval levels are a tremendous help to our processes that were not there before.

"A software thats always growing"

What do you like best?

The mobile inspections app is a revolutionary tool for our Building department and has streamlined the way they operate in the office and out on the field. The mobile app is works flawlessly.

What do you dislike?

The downside of a growing software is that there are times where bugs arise in updates but support is there to respond in a timely fashion.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are now in the process of moving our Fire Inspectors to use the myInspections module of NWerp to update the way they do their annual inspections. They are currently manually doing their inspections on paper and is very ineffecient.

"Great software for local government. Robust and flexible."

What do you like best?

Modules are detailed and provided for flexibilty to address the accountability needs in our diverse local government. The product owners are uniquely committed to listening to customer feedback and have them activiely engaged in improving it. Integration in the modules result in efficient access to reliable data.

What do you dislike?

Some modules, like contracts and grants, are an extremely useful part of the ERP software but have not received the development attention to maximize the usefulness in addressing real world situations.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Automated documented workflows and approvals strengthening internal controls and efficiency; open access to government financial imformation providing more accountability to stakeholders; system controls helps us comply with our contractual obligations and agreements; reporting is easy and flexible; unprecendented ability to track capital projects, capital assets and grants.

"New World is improving, slowly but surely "

What do you like best?

I can access the system anywhere. Budget reports include relevant information. Budget maintenance is an intuitive module. Once the security is set up properly (it takes forever) it works well and only allows users to see what is appropriate.

What do you dislike?

The security templates haven’t kept up with the updates. Security in general is difficult, very time consuming and it takes numerous tries before it’s right. Doesn’t seem to be improving.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Understand the data you’re inputting into your system, set up your system the right way, don’t use work arounds. Once you have garbage in your system, it takes forever to correct it.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Budgeting and budget monitoring.

"Great strides have been made in recent months"

What do you like best?

Recent and upcoming changes have made the user experience much better than it has been in the past.

What do you dislike?

Support has been unresponsive at times, but it sounds like it should be getting better.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use ERP for financial management and HR. It has streamlined several of our processes that used to rely on additional software. It's been much more efficient having everything in one solution.

"Product that helps get work done"

What do you like best?

New World ERP has helped maintain our various aspects of our business ranging from Finance, HR to Utilities department.

What do you dislike?

The application can be customized in various ways. As convenient as that it, it can also be difficult when it comes to upgrades. What works for one customer may not work for the next. But that is what expected with those types of features.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The latest problems that New World ERP has resolved is a way for us to offer an employee portal with the eSuite product. We are also now able to allow customers to pay their bills online.

"New heights "

What do you like best?

What I like best about New World ERP is the ability to take the information and pull it easily into excel.

What do you dislike?

My dislike would be the inquiry in accounts and the fact that you have to drill down click by click to the account.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With new world it allows you to go paperless. So we are close to going paperless

"Serves my needs for the most part"

What do you like best?

I have not used other HRIS systems so I can't compare it to other products. I like the eSuite portal functionality that is being built out.

What do you dislike?

The lack of customizable reports. We still have to maintain spreadsheets for some data.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It depends on what your user experiences have been. We have users who have used other types of HRIS systems and they are sometimes frustrated with the lack of information and reporting.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

What do you like best?

Ease in which updates are rolled out to end users.

What do you dislike?

The time it takes to get issues fixed. It seenms that many times that we have to be the QA/QC for the developers.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Plan inplementation carefully and know what you want to accomplist in the end. Be ready for numerous discussions of how to move forward after implementation and be ready for end user pushback due to the changes in business practices.

What do you dislike?

Support has been lapsing in the last year.

New funcionality has been added, but some at the cost of fixing small glitches with the existing product funcionality.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It has allowed us to sve on manual entry either by using the import funcionality or building interfaces with other systems.
