My favorite part of working with the tool was that it was easy to discover various datasets. I also worked with Socrata specifically thru the online portal at datasf.org, where they had powered access to economic, community and geographic boundary datasets. I did not use Socrata to its full extent so a lot of my interaction with it was manual, rather than being involved as an API developer.
