Twilio's free tier is misleading and doesn't allow real testing, only preset SMS, which feels more like a demo than a free plan. The onboarding process is confusing, and I had a very specific use case which wasn't supported without hours of struggle. I was charged $20 upfront for registration fees without any clear benefit, and my account was suspended for lack of funds. The pricing model seems deceptive, with hidden charges for necessary permissions totaling $19, which aren't clearly displayed. Overall, it felt like a scam, and I've decided to switch providers. Twilio has great customer support and they make it easy to use for people like me who are not natives of the techy language and landscape. Before we used this, I had to text from my personal phone to each volunteer. Now we can utilize the mass texting to all of our 700 volunteers or individual messages, whatever the need may be. I like the variety of ways we can communicate with our clients using Twilio. Texting works very well for me as it seems to be the easiest way to get a response and confirm appointments.
