You can spend a few days setting up your own email server, reverse DNS, keep the server patched, customizing, deal with domain keys/sender protection framework... Or you can just sign up for SendGrid in 30 seconds and start sending emails right away. It's pretty cheap too, particularly for low-ish volumes (though our use case might not be typical, since we're just using it for general email service rather than for marketing purposes). I haven't had any issues with it, it just works well. There's nifty features like tracking bounced emails, but I haven't used those. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Twilio SendGrid Email Marketing Campaigns: Just give it a try - it's pretty cheap, so why not? It sure beats setting up an email server manually, you don't have to worry about patching or about your mail getting through.
