It makes it easy if you want to add linkedIn ads and then later you want to add Facebook Ads. You can just toggle on or off different connections.

Amazing support for multiple sources and multiple destinations. The live debugger is great for tracking things quickly, and it works really well with Amplitude.

Cost is one factor that can increase quickly if the consumer sends too many events.

It helps us track user activity so that, if any issues come up, we can detect them early and act on them quickly. We also use it as a hub for collecting events from multiple sources, and then analyzing them with product management or marketing tools.

I like that Twilio Segment has tons of sources for data. Segment has all the sources I need and they are easy to integrate. The initial setup was also easy.

I don't like that the conversion APIs don't work as well.

The best part about Twilio Segment is its ability to centralize customer data from multiple sources and then route that data in real time to tools like analytics platforms, CRMs, and marketing automation software. It saves a huge amount of engineering time and ensures data consistency across platforms

Twilio Segment is solving the problem of fragmented customer data across multiple tools and platforms. Initial implementation and event taxonomy design are hard to get right, and mistakes are expensive long-term.

Data fragmentation → Segment unifies user data from web, mobile, backend, CRM, etc., into a single, consistent stream.
Slow or redundant tracking → One-time event tracking powers all tools (Braze, GA, Amplitude, BigQuery…) without duplicate effort.
Inconsistent user identity → Identity resolution across devices and platforms ensures accurate user profiles.

**What do you like best about Twilio Segment?**

That has a lot of integration with other tools: OneSignal, UXCam, AppsFlyer, Adjust, etc. That help us leverage the development time just to do this one and then mapped between the applications without coding.

**What do you dislike about Twilio Segment?**

High learning curve for our development team for the implementation. I'm not sure why, but our development team have had a lot of issue with the tracks, in comparisson with other tools. Maybe a better onboarding with our devs.

Tracking all the events that occur in our app, so we can understand how our users are interacting with the app. Also, it helps us with the integrations with other platform, so we don't need to implement each platform to our devs.

We had little to none data in our platform and there was not a great way to get it there. Segment solved defining events on our site and ease of use of piping it to our CRMs

From implementation woes to awful support, Segment has failed us at every bend. The $400k price tag doesn't help. I can't recommend this product and won't be taking it to my next employer.

Flexibility with work, different sources, traits, and audiences. It's got a lot of opportunities to realize my user's data strategy.

I can't create reports and different testing. Sometimes, I have issues with audience creation and export. The cost of this kind of platform is not cheap.

Segment does make integrations pretty quick, and most of it can be done without an engineer. That is pretty incredible.

Support was only ok. And we definitely had some integration issues...they may very well have been our fault, but our engineering team was pretty incredible so tough to say.

Segment helped us with a few things: integrating platforms without engineers, identity resolution and with the ability to make custom audiences. This allowed our marketing team to move a lot faster, without always needing to steal engineering resources to set up new tools.f

**What do you like best about Twilio Segment?**

Implementing Segment's tracked events is super easy and ends up being a fantastic lightweight all-in-one solution for tracking, planning, pruning, and reliably forwarding the events and properties that you want to destinations that they integrate into (which are MANY). Moreso, they have reverse ETL capability to get data from your warehouse back into Segment in a meaningful way.

**What do you dislike about Twilio Segment?**

The user interface when building tracking plans or tracking plan libraries is a bit clunky and awkward to work with, as well as some of the navigation in the Segment UI.

**What problems is Twilio Segment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Segment allows us to track events and event properties as well as user properties that meaningfully describe what our users are doing on our sites and thoroughly detail our customers and their changing makeup over time. Moreover, Segment allows us to clean out any noise that may come in from various systems and only send what we want to send where we want to send it (and be able to view the status of sent data). This has sped up our insight creation and made insights very reliable with current data synced on a schedule. Lots of hours have been saved by setting up Segment to do what we want it to. Further, by offering a Suppression and Deletion feature, Segment can facilitate a portion of our data protection regulation compliance with a manual nudge.

**What do you like best about Twilio Segment?**

Twilio Segment It is a pretty straightforward software, that can help a business avoid complications when dealing with large teams handling customers along a complex logistical, operational, service, and aftercare route. It is very simple to work with, once you get the hang of it, and it simplifies the communication process amongst areas that many times do not have the opportunity to speak or meet in a day-to-day environment. Implementation is simple and does not require deep changes or a steep learning curve. Customer support, before and after implementation is good and helpful. It integrates easily with existing software and the company's dynamics and can become a frequently used, consulted tool for the development of your Customer DB. It will be your daily to-go tool when considering the ease of use and lightness. I use it every day.

**What do you dislike about Twilio Segment?**

The cost can make this software prohibitive. It may not work as well for smaller groups that want to grow in an orderly and strategically-focused manner, but that don't have the means to implement software as robust and segmented as this one.

**What problems is Twilio Segment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Segment helped us integrate customer information in a business that deals with many objectives and segments of the customer's logistics chain, including but not limited to, cargo handling, inventory, storage, picking, transport, operations (river and maritime), etc. With Segment, my teammates and I, can interact towards our customers, knowing what each one of us did, and where the customer's experience in a given moment, is at.

The number of objective data points that Twilio Segment allows to simultaneously use to segment and cluster users is definitely better than similar tools, especially because Twilio Segment allows multi-level nesting without any barriers.

**What do you dislike about Twilio Segment?**

The man problem with Segment is the analysis experience. Unlike Mixpanel and similar tools, we cannot define funnels in Twilio Segment. For example, if I want to see the conversion funnel of users who have activity 1 and only then proceeded to activity 2, Twilio Segment does not have that functionality -- it is only possible to use AND clauses to see association rules.

We used Segment only to identify user cohorts and segments whom we wanted to target via different communication channels as well as to feed these segments in a staggered manner to our calling-platform through our CRM. This somewhat helped us in prioritising calls for high intent customer segments

Segment is very flexible with real time data processing and analytics. Implemention of Segment into the organisation makes the job easy in collecting and sorting the data from various platforms. Tracking the customer behaviour provides valuable insights in decison making. Data forwarding and reverse ETL functions works good. Customization of pipelines helps in routing the data into specific destinations according to client needs.

Expensive. There are many alternatives with similar functionalities at a lower price. Even the basic plans do not cover the key features to work with. Prior experience is needed to use imprortant features, which may be complex for beginners.  User interface can be improved.

Segment effectively collects and analyses customer data at a very granular level. Data analytics and customer behaviour patterns helps in implementing marketing strategies and decison making. Adding key features across the subscription plans helps wide range of users.

The thing I love most about Segment is the ability to track what events users are doing on your website. The data that can be tracked and what is output is amazing. It can be a little difficult to ascertain the differences between the different timestamps but the provided documentation clears that confusion up immensely.

**What do you dislike about Twilio Segment?**

As an analyst, the thing I dislike about Segment is 0 SSH tunneling offering for Redshift (at least at the tier that my company is on), this has us set up an external rds to recieve that data, which gives another barriar of access to those who need to troubleshoot the data.

The main problem Segment is solving for us is we're able to track at a very granular level what users are doing on our website.

I enjoy the functionality of what it provides when haveing to connect multiple systems. It is easy to use for gaining weekly diagnostic data on what is being routed through the system. We reled heavily when implimenting Segment on their support team to ensure that everything was implimented smoothly. Access to their webinars are also a valuable resourse for Segment specific training as well as industry training.

It is an extensive system so there is a lot to learn and get set ups so the integration process is not an easy one if you are combining many systems.

Segment is able to help ensure that all our companies systems are talking to each other more seamlessly. When merging many old and new, internal and external systems, Segment helps them all play well together so people don't fall through the cracks.

since I didn't implement I can't say if it was difficult to set up or continually manage. since it integrates pretty seamlessly across different tools I can't really think of a downside.

I have been using this application and by far this proves to be a wonder. The best about this is that it can collect data from so many sources whether it be website or marketing campaigns etc. it also helps clean the messy data and transform it into the usable ones.

As our customer database is quite use so it is quite expensive on that front is what I feel.

As I have mentioned, it cleans up the data and make it more usable. The integration with our sources is on another level. Just forget manually adding data into every tool. It's that good for marketing analytics.

When a sync breaks the error messages are very difficult to decifer. You must write into support for technical help rather than ability to peel back more technical connections on own. Support has not been the most useful.

Unified Customer View. Segment is excellent at offering a cohesive perspective of customer information. It aids in the creation of an extensive consumer profile by combining data from many sources.Segment also boasts extensive integrations which makes it easy to use.

The only drawback with segement is on cost.The price of Segment may be prohibitive for startups or smaller companies, particularly if they don't need all of its features.

Segment has helped with the issue of efficiet data collection for our firm. It simplifies the process and saves time and resources that would otherwise be used to manage several integrations independently by providing a single platform for data collecting.

Even with the walkthroughs on setup, there could be difficulty in connecting your app if it is custom. Paid plans are not cheap

The experience when I switching data in Customer Success Platform from one to another is absolutely smooth.

Another noteworthy aspect of Segment.com is its efficient debugging tools. Troubleshooting any potential issues during data transfer is quickly, thanks to the platform's comprehensive debugging features. The realtime debug can be seen when done your setup.

The billing management process could be more user-friendly. Having to handle billing-related matters via emails every time can be somewhat cumbersome. A streamlined and intuitive billing interface would be a welcome enhancement.

Lack  in supporting some specific software like Pipedrive CRM. It can be help via functional feature but hope become native in the futher

Segment is a great tool to collect, manage and persist data from different sources and across multiple channels. There are a lot of native integrations which you can use to connect your current tech stack and select to where you want to store it.

**What do you dislike about Twilio Segment?**

It's not easy to implement Segment. It was made to accommodate different types of companies therefore its architecture is really flexible. You will need specialized labor, a lot of thought, and weeks to sort out the different types of calls, where to use each one in your own case, how to name the events and properties, and go on. 

Although, it's this complexity that makes it powerful.  But it could have some no or low-code features and some kind of auto-captured events.

To facilitate the capturing of data in our products and persisting in our data lake and though this, make better informed decisions with better data and product analytics.
