Archaic interface. Hard to upgrade, not any real configurability, OCR is impossible to program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Tungsten Capture:

I would vet out all possible vendors first. Kofax makes a lot of promises, but can't seem to deliver on them. The upgrade process is very difficult and arduous. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tungsten Capture?

Kofax is a platform for multi-channel data capture and process automation. It is a powerful tool set for pulling costs out of bureaucracies. Bureaucracy is inevitable when you are using other people's money to accomplish big goals. The various solutions in the Kofax platform allow you to improve, eliminate or automate a huge amount of the information exchange tasks in big organizations. In addition to it's unequaled performance in the Accounts Payable processing area, you can add KTM to automatically classify thousands of document types and digitize your entire mailroom operation! What do you dislike about Tungsten Capture?

Due to the vast number of ways to extend and expand the use of Kofax Capture it can get expensive and complicated. As organizations see the fast ROI of scan-to-archive projects they often move to scan-to-process operations without first getting the training needed to effectively implement and measure success. When you don't look at the savings Kofax can seem expensive, but don't kid yourself...the status quo is rarely as free as it appears! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Tungsten Capture:

Make sure to use a system agnostic data capture tool if you cannot easily limit your data sources and data consumers.

Never start projects that have not identified measurable success metrics to justify the costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tungsten Capture solving and how is that benefiting you?

Just completed a project that uses KTM to eliminated the use of manual document separator sheets, automate indexing and vastly increase the document handling speed and capacity of a large Human Services delivery client. Additionally, it uses the probabilistic learning capability of KTM to give them process agility like they have never seen before. "The Cadillac of Document Capture"

What do you like best about Tungsten Capture?

Kofax Capture is a software suite of tools, solutions, and utilities that allow information to go from useless to powerful in a few short clicks. Kofax has the ability to ingest information from many different sources such as email, directories, web services and scanners and intelligently categorize and scrape information from these sources. From there, information can easily be massaged and put into practically any format for inclusion into major document management systems such as FileNet, Onbase, and Sharepoint while also supporting multiple text and database formats such as XML, HTML, and CSV. The addition of Kofax VRS on top of the Capture suite to clean up images coming in to Kofax is yet another benefit that makes this one of the best capture tools out there. What do you dislike about Tungsten Capture?

Kofax Capture can get expensive very quickly. Licensing is charged per concurrent workstation and per image, which is further multiplied if you take advantage of the Capture Transformation Modules which greatly increases the abilities of Kofax but at an additional tax. What problems is Tungsten Capture solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest business use for Kofax Capture is handling Accounts Payable scenarios. In many business cases, 85-90% of invoices can be automatically identified, filed, and placed in the hands of proper business decision makers all within a few minutes of the document becoming available to Kofax. Any structured document in a standardized form can benefit almost immediately utilizing Kofax Capture and even unstructured documents with a bit of training can benefit from this software.
