## Trustpilot Reviews
 ### 1. Disappointing Service and Misleading Practices

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Furniture | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

They have a fairly good website design. a

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

As a customer, I expect a certain level of sincerity and professionalism from companies, especially those that promote genuine customer experiences. Unfortunately, my interactions with this company have been utterly disappointing, characterized by a lack of real communication and a failure to adhere to their own stated guidelines.

I approached the company with a serious concern that directly contradicted their community guidelines. Rather than receiving a thoughtful response, I was met with robotic, automated replies. These messages, which were ostensibly translated into Danish, failed to address the specific issues I raised. It's perplexing and frustrating to receive a response in a language that suggests no genuine effort to understand my initial communication.

Furthermore, the company's reliance on automated responses underlines a significant gap between their professed values and actual practices. It's disheartening to see a company talk about authenticity and customer engagement, only to hide behind generic, automated messages that offer no real solutions or acknowledgments of the problem.

The irony is that their replies often reference their guidelines and rules, which, from my experience, they don't seem to follow themselves. This contradiction not only undermines their credibility but also highlights a worrying lack of accountability.

For a company that is part of a platform like Trustpilot, which is designed to foster transparency and honest feedback, this behavior is particularly concerning. It's essential for such platforms to represent companies that genuinely interact and engage with their customers. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience.

In conclusion, I am left with a sense of profound disappointment and frustration. The service I received was far from the sincere, problem-solving approach I expected. If the company is genuinely interested in improving and upholding its standards, I urge them to reevaluate their customer interaction strategies and start practicing what they preach. Until then, I can only advise others to approach this company with caution.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They do not solve any issues for me, they only create them.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi,

Thanks for sharing and we're truly sorry to hear about your experience so far. We'd love to look into this further with our team. If you could leave us with some more information about your account, we can look into this more with our team.

 ### 3. My experience using Trustpilot

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vivek R. | Division Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Trustpilot is a very big platform for software reviews, pricing, and finding software working details. Trustpilot has a very simple and impactful interface, numerous software are being reviewed over there. For me, it is one of the best one-point centers to find and match up my needs at a low cost. I have picked up a few software that was very useful for my startup like editing, marketing, accounting, etc. Trustpilot also enables users to share their own experiences while using any software so that our reviews can help others. This simple way of compilation and understanding different new software helps us a lot to identify the one.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

There is nothing to dislike about the platform the reviews are to the point few of the fake people write unnecessary points about the software but it is a great library of software overviews and useful for those people who are looking to get the best software according to their pocket and needs.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trustpilot has helped me a lot to grow my startup. I have used Trustpilot to promote my business and have also written various reviews that I have personally used. Trustpilot helps me publish those reviews that would be beneficial to others. Through these processes, I have got some of the best tools for marketing, branding, and promotions for my company. I had to pay a very justified amount to the software providers to promote my business and its credit goes to Trustpilot.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Vivek,

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review! It's great to hear that you're enjoying using our platform for reviews.

We hope you continue to enjoy your experience and please give us a shout if you have any future questions or concerns!

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 4. User Experience with Trustpilot

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Apeksha J. | Hospital Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Trustpilot is one the best platforms I have encountered for the software description and its features. Being working in the Hospital Industry and my job role is Hospital Manager I need to update with the apps that are fast and multitasking for that I look forward to Trustpilot it gives me various lists of software that compare with others and helps me to select the best option for my need. Its user interface is so easy and great that every individual can use it.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

So far there is not a single thing I dislike about the Trustpilot its been a very good platform giving good suggestions for the apps.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trustpilot solved till now various problems for me until I selected editing software and then browsing applications also purchased a great CMS software with its recommendation for Hospital management. It's genuine feedback and customer reviews allow us to select the best-needed app for working fast in our organizations.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Apeksha,

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us! We love hearing that you've found Trustpilot to be one of the best platforms out there. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks,

 ### 5. East-to-use customer feedback management tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oliver M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

The interface is easily understandable and the ability to provide support to our customers in an ordely manner is wonderful. It's easy for us to keep track of the reviews coming our way and gives us an avenue to offer support when needed.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

One small thing that I would love Trustpilot to have would be the ability remove reviews immedaitely

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has been actively assisting us regarding our online reputation and easily gives us access in providing support when our customers provide good (and not so good) feedback regarding the services that they received from us. It has become easier to keep a close eye on the reviews coming through online.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the review! We love hearing that you're finding the Trustpilot platform to be easy to use when collecting customer feedback. We hope you continue to enjoy using our platform and please feel free to reach out in the future should you have any questions, concerns, or feedback!

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 6. Love it! Great for our business' credibility and exposure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Great for our business' credibility and exposure. By using the BCC link, customers do not have to create an account in order to leave a review which is super helpful and leads to higher conversions

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Nothing comes to mind, all features are easy to use / navigate

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When customers are unsure of who we are and if we are trustworthy, credible, etc... we send them to our trustpilot with over 100 positive reviews

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi,

Thanks for sharing your experience with us! We always love hearing when anyone is enjoying using our platform and finding it to be a useful service. However, we just want to clarify that anyone leaving a review must have or create an account. Trust and transparency are essential to us, so we want to be sure that every review is connected to a real person who's had a real buying or service experience.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 7. TrustPilot is not to be trusted-scammy. They should be in bed with Yelp if they aren't already.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Nothing at all. Absolutely nothing. Nada.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

I trialed their software and got one review (5 stars) and when you look up my company it says Trust Pilot 3.7. I reached out to them and asked them why and they said they have some scoring system so I just needed more positive reviews. Isnt the point of this to average out the reviews you have? Does that even seem fair? No. The whole point of them doing this is to get into their trap of buying their service and not being able to get out until your reviews get to where you need them to be.

I have tried to contact the company to get my company name and data out of their system and they wont do it. They closed my account and left the 3.7. Unbelievable.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They aren't solving anything.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi,

Thanks for sharing with us. However, our TrustScore calculation is more than just an average of all reviews. It considers three factors: time span, frequency, and Bayesian average. Here's a little more on how each works:

-Time span. A TrustScore gives more weight to newer reviews, and less to older ones. The most recent review holds the most weight, since newer reviews give more insight into current customer satisfaction.
-Frequency. Businesses should continuously collect reviews to maintain their TrustScore. Because the most recent review holds the most weight, a TrustScore will be more stable if reviews are coming in regularly.
-Bayesian average. We use a Bayesian average in the calculation, to make sure that a business with fewer reviews starts off with a balanced TrustScore. This means that we automatically include the value of 7 reviews worth 3.5 stars each in all TrustScore calculations. As a business collects more reviews, this becomes a smaller factor in the calculation.

We don’t delete business profile pages from Trustpilot because it's consumers who decide which businesses are reviewed on Trustpilot, and we believe their reviews hold useful information for shoppers and businesses alike.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 8. This platform benefits companies rather than consumers.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

You can leave review when they are positive.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

I have left a negative review about my personal data being stolen by a specific company. Then Trustpilot took my review down, claiming that i have no proof of the company stole my personal information. I told them that i don't have proof of that because i have never gave them permission to use my personal information, even forwarding my communication with the formentioned company.

I also mentioned that in order to verify the truthfullness of my review, they must contact the company and ask for proof that they had permission to use my personal data. They said they don't care and that unless i give them proof that they did not have permission to use my personal data (which is literally impossible, as this permission does not exists).

This company benefits only companies (who probably pay them to take negative reviews down), not consumers.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's not very benefitting

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi,

Thanks for sharing this with us. We certainly want you to be able to share all of your experiences on our platform - we just ask that these be within our guidelines. Any review, whether positive or negative, can be flagged if it breaks the rules. Sometimes when that happens, our team will ask for documentation to verify an experience.

Documentation showing a genuine experience is one of the ways we verify reviews, which helps us enhance the trustworthiness of our community.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 9. Trust us

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

If you fail to understand the monetisation part of this then you not get money there is less no of feature

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To get clear image of any firm or website before it's use

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

 ### 10. Bad System, Account Lost

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

A big website and a lot of people review on it.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

We had registered an account with Trustpilot Business and claimed our company website.

After that, we did not have any specific need to log in to that account, so we did not log in until recently since we noticed there were reviews about our company and needed to reply.

However, we could not log in. We tried to use the option "forget password" and were supposed to receive an email to reset passwords- but we never received anything. We tried many times in many days, but still no result. We tried to contact their Customer Care but also nothing.

The problem is that our business website was already claimed by this account, so even if we wanted to create a new account to reply to those comments, we could not. Trustpilot does not allow us to claim the same website.

I am completely lost and I hope that one of Trustpilot customer care people can see this and reach out to help

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing so far

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi,

Thanks for the review and we're so sorry for any trouble with your profile and trying to get in touch with our team. If you leave us with a ticket number with our team, we can follow up on this ASAP. If you don't have a ticket number, please email us at socialmedia@trustpilot.com so we can communicate that way and help get this sorted.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 11. This company is operating for business

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

They have bad reviews about good companies that don't pay them and good reviews for bad companies that pay them. Many fake accounts are there. They blocked my account because it's a real account and kept the fake ones. Furthermore they remove reviews which are related to direct experience to certain services or products even if you have a proof of this experience and that you were a customer of this company.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

They are not honest and open for dirty business. Like mentioned above, nothing to like about them really.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not solving anything and Trustpilot reviews are misleading. Do you really imagine they have bad reviews for Amazon? Lol! The company that can teach anyone how to respect customers and do business. This proves they are not legitimate.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi,

Thanks for leaving us a review and sharing your experience with us. However, no company can pay for reviews or to have reviews removed from our platform.

Any review can be flagged by businesses, consumers, or by our robots if it breaks the rules. If someone seriously misuses our platform, we can remove their reviews and/or block or delete their account.

If you think your review(s) and/or your account were wrongly flagged, please let our Content Integrity Team know so they can take a look and help out.

 ### 12. Beware of sales scams!

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Nice to know someone cares about us enough to leave a review here.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Felt like a total bait n' switch to try to get us on a 12-month contract. Their website quotes monthly pricing, but then the salesperson said they bill quartlery--not mentioned anywhere--and that it's a 12-month commitment--burried deep in their website only found in the FAQ. Even the salesperson couldn't find where the 12-month commitment is stated!

Their "fair" scoring method sounds like total B.S. We have only 5-star reviews, but then they show us only having a 4.1 review average. It's as if it's some kind of tactic they use to have us reach out to them to try to sell us on a contract.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gives us another channel for reviews, building confidence with our customer base. However, it's misleading because it's not showing true average scores.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Joshua,

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. All payment terms should have been made clear in your contract. Your Account Manager should be able to help look into this so please feel free to get in touch with them.

Regarding the TrustScore - here's a little more on how it all works. A TrustScore is the overall measurement of reviewer satisfaction, based on all the service and location reviews a business receives on Trustpilot. It's
calculated on a scale from 1 to 5.

The formula considers three factors: time span, frequency, and Bayesian average and here's how those are calculated:

After the calculation, a TrustScore is then visualized into a star rating from 1 to 5 stars, including half stars. Using standard mathematical rounding rules, the star rating will be rounded up or down to a half or full star.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 13. Incredible bad experience

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier Victor M B. | Infrastructure Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Absoutely nothing. They are a very bad company failing to the main reason of their existence. that is giving an honest space for people to give their personal opinion. But instead they delete reviews and suspend valid accounts out of the blue.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

I bough a hand made dress for my wife, from a 1 person business, the experience was so great that I took personal time to give a review for her. She uses Trustpilot (sadly). I left my honest review, from my account that is like 5+ years old (is not fake). and out of the blue they just suspended my account. I kept using personal time to try to put my review up since the business deserves it. They asked me proof of purchase, I sent paypal transactions screenshots, emails with the bussines, and the order. But since the order shipping was under my wife name, they just dont care. Everything else was on MY name, but they kept coming with excuses to not let you give you a real honest review. This company is a joke. They manage the reviews, only the reviews they want are published.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Javier,

Thanks for sharing with us. We certainly want everyone to be able to share their experiences on our platform. We just ask that these are within our guidelines to help keep Trustpilot a collaborative, trustworthy place to be. If a review breaks the rules, it can be flagged. From there, our Content Integrity team will investigate and take action if necessary.

We're not sure the specifics of what happened with your review and account, but we'd recommend following up with our Content Integrity Team so they can take another look via this form https://support.trustpilot.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 14. Incompetent or scammers, probably both.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ro G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

There is nothing to like about Trustpilot. They are truly one of the least trustworthy sites for reviews, they take down legitimate reviews because companies don't like them, while allowing obvious fake reviews to stay up.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

There are many things to dislike about Trustpilot, from the fake reviews, corrupt practices, and useless "content integrity team" who are worse than spam bots themselves.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trustpilot helps prove there are worse review sites than Yelp.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Ro,

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We're sorry to hear that you're not loving using Trustpilot so far. However, no company can pay to have reviews removed. Any review that breaks the rules can be flagged for our team to look into. If our team finds that it violates our guidelines, action is taken.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 15. We have been #Trustjacked by Trustpilot - Trust and Transparency Hijacked

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew B. | Managing Director Of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

The best thing about Trustpilot is the keyword search within a sites reviews

Example - How to cancel for Trustpilot subscription

I did not sign up to Trustpilot

Why has Trustpilot changed my review content

Who is able to hack Trustpilot Reviewer Accounts

How much do you have to pay to get away with Widget Fixing, Review Gaming, Reviewer Gating and publishing fake positive reviews in the names of clients and in the Trustpilot Reviewers account without detection.

The platform has great design and a lot of good staff so why allow one bad apple to affect the cart - what is Trustpilot hiding or fearful of revealing ?

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

I have over several years failed to get a question answered by anyone at Trustpilot including their head of compliance who took 6 months to investigate fake negative reviews against my company that exposed Trustpilot were taking payment to import and host fake reviews for the competitor who was leaving the fake Trustpilot reviews and others on other review collection platforms as part of a concerted attack designed to damage our reputation and Google ranking / NPS

Trustpilot either themselves or their client my competitor have prevented negative review and hacked Trustpilot reviewer accounts to create and leave fake positive reviews which when questioned by the reviewer and changed to a negative get removed.

This has been happening for over 7 years and possibly longer before it was detected and identified.

I would be claiming our reviews on Trustpilot, but without Trust, Transparency and Integrity I cannot.

The Trustpilot Board and Investors may have made £millions from false representation and be praised for success, yet not one Trusty has reached out to investigate and understand why their supporting and facilitating a long term scam has damaged many consumers, businesses and organisations across the UK, Europe and US that have required intervention from Action Fraud, Trading Standards, Police, The Courts and the Attorney Generals Office to get refunds for victims of the Fields and Data Recovery Specialists Scams - Trust and Transparency for sale.

Take notice Trustpilot get in touch - prove me wrong or take action to restore Trust in Reviews.

Trustpilot hijacks company websites by targetting market segments.

During a sales enquiry to Trustpilot London a representative offered my UK company a way to avoid paying UK VAT by paying their Danish company this raised a red flag.

Over a decade since first dealing with Trustpilot I realised that the ideals are not inline with actuality.

Fake verified reviews
Hacked reviewer accounts
Gating
Widget Fixing
Cherry Picking
Gaming
Review Flagging

Data Protection Concerns Ignored

We were being #Trustjacked

**Recommendations to others considering Trustpilot:**

Trustpilot is useful but structually and ideologically flawed.

Sells reputation management and at its worse is a pay as you go protection racket and data protection issue for those who have not considered or noticed the flaws in the security and integrity of reviewer accounts.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trustpilot have been given many opportunities to address a series of problems that arise from asking them to investigate breaches in their security that brings into question the Trusted, Transparency claims of the company and integrity of its leadership for the sake of engagement.

I was able to identify how Trustpilot was helping a competitor in the Fields of Data Recovery who also runs Quickie Divorce Endeavour Law, Data Recovery Specialists and Action Direct UK importing fake reviews but mark them verified.

FDR, DRS, Quickie Divorce are unregulated sector domination operating scams assisted by Trustpilot

Endeavour Law is regulated by the SRA and has gamed Trustpilot,

Action Direct UK fake reviews and deception was investigated by the claims management regulator, forced to close a £multillion operation and hand back its licence.

Hacking of Trustpilot Reviewer accounts has still not been explained and is still happening but covered up by Trustpilot or someone hacking Trustpilot either internally or other nefarious ways.

This also identified Trustpilot is also covering up how it sells reputation management by way of entrapment.

Discovered that Trustpilot sales teams are selling leads between themselves.

 ### 16. Analytics are simple but the forecasting isn't there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie B. | Retentions, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

I like how you can track distrubution of stars and have access to a wide variety of analytics on your trustpilot page which enables us to identify key improvmenents to avoid negative reviews.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

I dislike the forecasting function for the trust score. It is unable to give you a specific date and you are also unable to predict what you need to do to get your score higher.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps build our brand and gives our customers an honest place to go for a true reflection of our services. It is a great marketing tool and sets us aside from competitors.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Katie,

Thanks for the feedback! We always love hearing when someone's enjoying using our product and features. We will be sure to take your feedback in around our TrustScore and pass it along to our Product Team to look into for the future. If you have any other feedback for us, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Thanks,

 ### 17. No longer reliable, or maybe it's never been

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

the idea was original and useful if it was based on authentic spirit

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Recently I understood what this company is about. They sent me an email saying their software believed one of my review was "fabricated" (they didn't specify what it means, if "untrue" or "generated by a bot"). For this reason, they just suspended my whole account deleting all my previous reviews. To my complaint, a shady customer service replied that if I had forwarded evidence of my commercial relation with that company, they "might have considered to republish it" . I am sure these things are done under pressure of the companies object of the reviews. Trustpilot business is totally broken following this path, they are just clever commercially and dishonest with the public, and the value of their reviews is currently not higher that a google reviews account.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trustpilot is not solving problems but, producing non transparent reviews accounts and backing the insterests of the enterprises, is damaging the market and the consumers

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi,

Thanks for sharing with us. But, no company can pay to have reviews removed. All reviews have to follow our guidelines or they can be flagged by businesses, consumers or by our robots. If you seriously misuse our platform, we can remove your reviews and/or block or delete your account.

 ### 21. Beware of contract renewal increase fees

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leo P. | CFO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Good automation integration, easy to use and consumers know the brand and trust it for the most part.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Bait n' switch 12-month contract then at renewal they will increase it by 21% year over year!! really! That is not a typo. Inflexible Salespeople.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are in the top 5 online review companies so it made sense to have them as part of our overall reputation management. It does kill me that I have to pay for good AND bad reviews especially when they are clearly our competitor's fake reviews. It's kind of like cosa nostra protection money without the protection.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Leo,

Thanks for the feedback. We're glad to hear that you're liking our automation integration and are finding our platform to be easy to use.

Every business that signs up with us has a different contract and contract terms that are agreed upon when signed. We're not sure the details of your contract, but if you have any questions around the terms, please let your Account Manager know so they can help out.

We know what we do comes at a cost and we try to offer plans and pricing to fit all businesses needs.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 22. Love the Platform, worst Sales people. DO NOT sign a contract with them

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saddam H. | COO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

I really like the value their platform provides

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

They locked us in a contract where they promised features we weren't eligible for. Paid for a year.

At renewal date we tried to cancel and they said renewal was done 2 days ago and now we have to pay another full year because there was a clause in the fine print for auto renewal.

Even though I expressed to them multiple times, we were locked in a contract first year and we didn't get any benefit from it, they still didn't care and stopped responding.

Extremely pushy to close you on a sales call and no customer service after. Terrible, please do not sign anything with them.

We are a business and we understand the value of good customer experience. I am not writing this out of frustration but cautioning other companies on their neglect towards their customers.
I would have cancelled any such agreement in a heartbeat had I known my client didn't get any value and still paid for a year.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's not solving any issue for us. They have no concept of customer service. I would gladly change my review if they show a bit of care towards our concerns.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Saddam,

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review and share your experience. We're glad to know that you like the value that the Trustpilot platform provides!

Please know that all cancellations or changes to your plan need to happen within your contract terms. Our customer support team and account management team are always available to help out as much as possible and are so sorry if that didn't happen when trying to get in contact with them. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks,

 ### 23. Trust pilot refuses to post honest reviews

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amal F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Used to be transparent and trust worthy but now some interesting things must have happened they refuse to post negative review for some companies

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Now, Trustpilot declines to post negative reviews about some companies without any verifying the authenticity of the review with the consumer. TP just removes the review, it seems that TP is having an agreement that no negative review will be posted for certain companies.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No more no more negative reviews for certain companies.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Amal,

Thanks for the feedback. However, we welcome all reviews - positive, negative, and anything in between - as long as they follow our guidelines. If you're having trouble with a review, please get in touch with our Content Integrity Team so they can take another look and help out.

 ### 25. Helpful and Trustable Site for Products Reviews

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sachin . | Senior Research Scientist-I, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

You will get honest reviews on this site, so you will have confidence in buying or using any product. Consumers will be pleased if they get the same product as per reviews, and yes, you will get the same service as per reviews on the Trustpilot website.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

It's been only three days of using this website, so there are no dislikes now, but I know there will be no limitations on this site in the future. So go for it without a single thought.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A great product with great reviews is equal to a great feeling. This feeling comes from Trustpilot; that's all from my side. Once again, don't think for a single time about using this website.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Sachin,

Thanks for leaving us a review! We love to hear that you're finding Trustpilot to be a helpful and trustworthy site for products and reviews.

 ### 26. Trying to trap us into a 25% price hike

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Nothing really- it has a decent brand I guess

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

No new features in ~5 years, keep increasing price by 25% each year, and bad business practices trying to trap us into paying for another year due to lack of notice (despite them taking weeks to respond, not to mention they didn't give us notice of the price hike). Poor offerings and price/value compared to alternatives.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing really- it collects reviews and links with google, but nothing unique.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. We know that our product and features come at a cost, but will be sure to pass along your comments to our team to look into for the future. Regarding your cancellation concerns - we always ask that businesses cancel within the terms stated in their contracts.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 27. Think twice before signing a contract

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

They are good at onboarding and marketing.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Once you have any issues, you can't even find an account representative. We want to cancel our membership, they find all reasons to not allow us to do. We wanted to cancel our contract with them, still there is time for renewal period. However they claim that we didn't calcel before 30 days, so they will charge for another year. Complete scam even if they put this clause in their contract. Just like gyms that they know you won't go there, but won't let you cancel and try all the ways to renew automatically. So, think really carefully before you sign up with Trustpilot. Do you really need them? After one year of use, we understand that, we actually don't.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trustpilot is a review app but there are several better alternates in the market.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're glad to hear that you've enjoyed our onboarding process and marketing assets.

Our team's always here to help and sincerely apologize if that wasn't the case when you tried getting into contact with them. If you still need help getting in touch, please submit a request here so we can get you connected: https://support.trustpilot.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

Lastly, our contracts do have a notice period for cancellation and all businesses are required to cancel within those contract terms.

If you would like to chat further about anything else, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 28. Non Trust Worthy website

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sai R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Nothing total paid website that help scam companies to run their business without issues.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

they only allow reviews they like to display also if any company pays them they delete the real reviews and allow the fake bot reviews and they also disable account if we tell the reality of any website.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

they solve nothing they delete all reviews without any reason.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Sai,

Thanks for leaving us a review here on G2Crowd! But, we just want to clear the air on a few things.

Trustpilot's open to all so anyone who has had a buying or service experience in the past 12 months can write a review (positive or negative), for free, as long as they have a Trustpilot user account, follow our Guidelines for Reviewers, and don’t have a conflict of interest with the business they’re reviewing.

Regarding protecting our platform - we do lots to combat fake reviews and misuse. Every review on Trustpilot is screened by our bespoke automated fraud detection software that identifies and removes fakes. It looks at multiple data points, such as IP addresses, user identifiers, device characteristics, location data and timestamps, to determine if it exhibits patterns of suspicious behavior.

Whenever our software detects clearly fraudulent reviews, the review is moved offline and we send an email to notify the reviewer. This provides reviewers with an opportunity to correct any false positives. However, if we have overwhelming evidence that the review is fake, we won’t reinstate it.

We also want to make it clear that no business can pay to have reviews delayed or removed.

Being open to all means both businesses and consumers have the opportunity to flag a review if it contravenes our guidelines. Our Content Integrity Team checks each flagged review, and if they find that it breaks the rules, they take action. Our rules are crystal clear that only flagging negative reviews is against our guidelines. Businesses that misuse the flagging function damage the trustworthiness of our platform and we take this very seriously.

With all that being said - we certainly want to help with your account if you're running into issues. Please feel free to get in touch with our Content Integrity team so they can look into further and assist from there.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 29. Helpful but real concerns about legitimacy of reviews

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan T. | Service Director, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Quick and easy to start using. Requesting reviews is easy and fast and the process to leave reviews is also simple, streamlined and very easy.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Limited to no recourse at all for the removal of honest reviews from real clients. Reviewers are often not provided with any alternative to appeal or verify the usage of the product or service they reviewed. There are also many documented and confirmed instances of clearly fake reviews (both positive and negative) being approved and some cases, even verified.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides an honest (mostly....sometimes?) picture of how real users of companies' services feel about what they have paid for. It isn't easy to get an honest and clear picture of a company's services (from a client perspective). While Trustpilot does not have a perfect solution, it is undoubtedly beneficial.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Alan,

Thanks for your review! It's nice to know that you've found Trustpilot to be quick and easy to use.

But, we just want to get on the same page around reviews. Trustpilot's open to all! Anyone who has had a buying or service experience in the past 12 months can write a review, for free, as long as they have a Trustpilot user account, follow our Guidelines for Reviewers, and don’t have a conflict of interest with the business they’re reviewing.

Being open to all also means giving both businesses and consumers the opportunity to flag a review if it contravenes our guidelines. Regardless of whether a review was flagged by a business or by another consumer, our Content Integrity Team will assess the review and only take action where necessary.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 30. No Trust(pilot)!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan D. | Consultant

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

I warn others, using this fake site!
If the review isn't positive you'll be flagged and need to prove your not fake. Trustpilot really doesn't like negative reviews. Hence, it's one big façade.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Where shall I start. Trustpilot is either run by bots or people instructed to definately not allow negative reviews. Even, if the company responds and sorts the issue, Trustpilot will prevent others to really read what a company is like.

Then, when, placing a negative review, the account gets flagged and I need to ID myself?
Who exactly does Trustpilot think they are?!
The only good thing was, the company who actually got my negative review responded and sorted the issue.
If you think I'm the only one.... Google this site. You'll see it happens with everyone who leaves a negative review.
Don't be fooled by the so called friendly responses they leave behind, when people like me leave a review like this. They honestly will keep doing what they do...

Thankfully I got my account removed in the end. Trustpilot forgets it needs honest reviews from people like myself to survive.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Totally none. It's their business model it seems. To block and flag people giving anything then a positive review

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for leaving us a review. Anyone who has had a buying or service experience in the past 12 months can write a review - positive or negative - for free, as long as they have a Trustpilot user account, follow our Guidelines for Reviewers, and don’t have a conflict of interest with the business they’re reviewing.

Both businesses and consumers have the opportunity to flag a review if it goes against our guidelines. Once reviews are flagged and investigated by our Content Integrity Team, they are either reinstated or removed permanently. If a review is removed permanently this means that it goes against our guidelines. If reinstated, the review does not break any platform rules.

We also have a customized fraud detection software that automatically detects suspicious reviews and removes fakes.

If you're ever having trouble with a review, our team would be happy to help by getting in touch via this link https://support.trustpilot.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

Thanks,

 ### 31. Unethical and unregulated

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neil H. | IT Consultant, Civil Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

I like the graphic design of the star next to the word Trustpilot on their logo. It's a nice colour.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

They are the most unethical company I have ever dealt with. I never write reviews but will make an exception for this "hiding in plain sight" embarrassment of a company. They should be investigated and shut down.

**Recommendations to others considering Trustpilot:**

I have had a horrible experience with Trustpilot, ending in a payment dispute which I won when a third party looked at the evidence I provided.

There are so many aspects that hav been bad. I will try to summarise as best I can.

1. Their sales people blind you with facts and figures, many of which are gigantic exaggerations. Example: they told me my profile on Trustpilot was reviewed 70,000 times in a year, so it's worth paying to optimise the experience my users are having. Well I've had 12 visits to my site from Trustpilot in a year. Something doesn't add up here, and they know it but they carry on selling anyway. Example: they tell you that you have to pay for features when the free versions are almost exactly the same. It's honestly not worth the money to get 5% better features. They say "you can't get that feature for free" but omit to tell you that you can get something good enough for free. It's what they don't say - that's the problem with their sales approach and it's very unethical.

2. Their annual subscription renewal emails say that you have to click through to sign and accept the renewal. If you don't sign and accept, it renews anyway. What the ****?! That's pure misdirection.

3. I set up a call with my customer success manager (lol!) to discuss my upcoming renewal and the fact I wasn't happy. 4 weeks later, once I was inside the notice period, he came back to say he'd been off sick and it was too late to cancel now. Staggering.

4. When I lodged a complaint about my customer success manager, the complaints team directed me to... my customer success manager! Ha ha! There is no clear escalation path. They just want your money.

Happy ending. I instructed my bank to block Trustpilot from taking any more money from me. Their bank wrote to my bank with "compelling evidence " as to why I should pay. I sent my evidence to my bank as to why I shouldn't pay, and the dispute was settled in my favour. I think their bank read my evidence and dropped the case.

To sum up, I believe there is a systemic problem at Trustpilot and some sort of regulator needs to investigate. I cannot be alone in my experience.

I know that Trustpilot will respond to this review and say how they'll put it all right. No need guys - your bank already did!

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maybe Google ranks companies higher in search results if they are on trustpilot, who knows.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Neil,

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We've made note of your comments and will be sure to pass these along to our relevant teams to look into for the future. If there's anything we can do now to help, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

 ### 32. Overall Trustpilot Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Ease of use to reply, tag, and export reviews

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Integrity team is behind on filtering reviews that do not pertain to our company. Hopefully, this is temporary.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increase brand awareness and reputation

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi,

Thanks for leaving us a review! It's nice to know that you're finding it easy to use our platform to respond to and export reviews.

Our Content Integrity team is working through a higher number of inquiries as of lately, which has led to longer response times. But, they're working as quickly as they can and should be getting back to everyone who has been in touch.

We hope you continue enjoying your Trustpilot experience and if there's anything we can do to improve yours, please feel free to give us a shout!

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 33. Necessary Marketing instrument // Some good integrations

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jan-Henrik F. | Lead Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

- Business Genrated Links
- Snippets to embed the trustpilot reviews
- Integration to Zendesk
- Connection to Zenloop (for automatic processing of customer feedback)

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

- rather high costs for businesses (you don't have much to argue in the pricing discussions)
- snippets for trustpilot scores and reviews cannot be easily customized

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trustpilot is a platform where you can publicly collect customer feedback so that other customers have a trustful (neutral) base to rely on. It also allows you to segment your reviews to some extend and to answer to customer reviews.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Jan-Henrik,

Thanks for leaving us a review. It's so nice to hear that you're enjoying some of the features and integrations that we have to offer with our platform.

Your note about costs and snippets not being easily customizable is valuable for us to play back to our development and product teams. We're big advocates for feedback loops here at Trustpilot, without constructive commentary on what we're doing how can we learn!

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 34. They handcuff you with their contract and force you to keep paying higher and higher fees

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan I. | Director of Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

It started well but gradually got worse.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

The service lost features we liked such as the ability to manually invite customers. Flagging reviews that are not for our company or seem to be authentic customers don't matter anymore. There seems to be little to no validation in the quality of the reviews being posted. Our business has been hit by all the supply chain delays so we wanted to temporarily cancel with the hopes that once things return to normal we could focus on getting more positive reviews. It doesn't make sense to invite customers to leave you a review when their order is stuck on a ship for months which is out of our hands. This has never happened and is not how we operate our business just an unfortunate circumstance we are trying to work through.

We wanted to cancel/pause our service with TrustPilot. We reached out before our bill was due to cancel and were told: "Trustpilot contracts do not allow for mid-term cancellations". The contract auto-renews approximately 2 weeks before the bill is due and you MUST give them at least 30 days written notice before your auto-renewal date.

Any company that handcuffs you like this says a lot about the confidence in the services they are providing!

Run Don't use their service, just focus on directing your reviews directly to Google. It's way more trustworthy, gets more views and it's Free!

**Recommendations to others considering Trustpilot:**

Don't use TrustPilot

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None, it's created problems.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Dan,

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review and share your experience - we appreciate feedback in all of its forms. We’re always working to build trust and transparency so we have been gradually discontinuing the use of our manual invitation methods. Our team is happy to help switch your account over to an automated method to continue sending review invites. We offer many different automated methods, so there’s one best suited for everyone.

Trust is at the heart of what we do, which is why our team is constantly working to fight fake reviews and misuse. Every review on Trustpilot is screened by our bespoke automated fraud detection software that identifies and removes fakes. It looks at multiple data points, such as IP addresses, user identifiers, device characteristics, location data and timestamps, to determine if it exhibits patterns of suspicious behavior. And of course, if you have a review that goes against the rules, you can flag it from your Trustpilot Business account, and our Content Integrity Team will assess whether the review violates our guidelines for the specified reason.

Our contracts do have a 30 day notice period, and reminders are sent prior to this 30 day period via email.

Like Google Reviews, our platform is also free to use for both businesses and consumers. We understand your reasons for moving on from us, but we wanted to share some further context around the challenges you faced.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 35. TrustPilot, An amazing Review platform!

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarang a. | Graphics Designer, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

I have been using TrustPilot for a lot of time. TrustPilot helps me figure out what the users of my website think about it, I can take many reviews, and send review invitation links with Trustpilot email. This is a lot of it, whenever I am going to suspect spam from a website, I directly visit TrustPilot, there are hundreds of reviews written which help me analyse if I have to go for the website of the app or not. It has a very user-friendly interface, and there are not many troubles signing up for TrustPilot. TrustPilot is Fantastic!

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

The thing that I most dislike is that there are many fake reviews at TrustPilot, many times the reader gets misguided, and reaches the spam, this makes TrustPilot unworthy. Secondly, the prices of the business plans are very high, mostly unaffordable, they could have provided Trustpilot’s marketing integrations, but that's where the disappointment starts.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been safe from spam most of the time. For my business, I get reviews there by which I analyse user thoughts. Those reviews are the one by which I take the next step for my business, which is amazing!

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Sarang,

Thanks for sharing your Trustpilot experience with us. It's great to know that you've found our platform to be easy to use and helpful in figuring out what your customers think of your website.

Since trust is at the heart of what we do, we work around the clock to safeguard our platform and combat fake reviews. We're using a strong combination of dedicated people and clever technology to protect our platform. Our customized fraud detection software automatically detects suspicious reviews and removes fakes. Our software is backed by trained experts to investigate reports of misuse. We've spent years developing and fine-tuning the advanced algorithms and AI that form its foundation, and continue to invest heavily in this area.

We definitely appreciate all forms of feedback, so your comments about the pricing and integrations is valuable for us to play back into our product team.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 36. Trustpilot is the Ultimate Addition to Online Marketing and Website Analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maurice R. | Founder and President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

The ability to embed BOTH Trust pilot and NFG into our website code and branding

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Lack of complete embedding instructions.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Credibility and Transparency are key in the operation of a not-for-profit soliciting donations. Trustpilot provides that 3rd party validation for us and or website.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Maurice,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. It's great to know that you're enjoying our platform capabilities and that Trustpilot reviews have given credibility to your business.

We'll be sure to let our team know of your feedback around embedding instructions so they can look into further.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 37. Excellent Traffic on Reviews Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eniko S. | Senior Customer Relationship Agent, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

To reach a review score that reflects the customer experience satisfaction in a trustworthy manner one needs to have a high number of reviews. With a Standard+ plan, one can send 25K invitations each month. With this setting we regularly get 350-450 reviews on the website.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

There is not much to dislike as it brings all the necessary features a reviews website should for easy reviews management and analytics, plus a lot of additional services that may help with integrations.

**Recommendations to others considering Trustpilot:**

Show your customers that you care about their complaints by responding to every negative review.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We firmly believe that measuring customer sentiment and responding to reviews is extremely important in the customer satisfaction journey and this website makes it easy to respond to feedback, tag reviews based on the issues, and analyze the results.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Eniko,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are glad you're having a great experience with Trustpilot and using our platform to the fullest!

Thank you,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 38. Trustworthy Review Platform to Create Trust and Boost Sales

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** GRAFİK S. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Trustpilot teview widgets are very easy to embed into our Shopify stores. For example, we can show review scores both on our homepage and particular ones on product pages with ease.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

All reviews belong to their platform. That means if we decide to leave their platform for a competing service, they prohibit us from exporting and use them with another platform. On the other hand, I see no reason to leave them in the foreseeable future.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On Shopify stores we're building, we frequently need to show convincing proof to our visitors how great we're doing. Shopify's own review app is far from being perfect. Especially when we need to show global site reviews, it's not possible out of the box. With Trustpilot widgets, it's effortless to reach that goal. Also their ratings are counted as Google Seller Ratings and that's a big plus.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi GRAFİK S,

Thank you for taking the time to share this with us, we really appreciate feedback!

It's great to hear that you are finding our widgets easy to use and that we're helping to build your Shopify stores and proving useful in showing customers that you're doing a good job, we love to hear that!

Reviews remain on our site once you have left us, this is correct. Whilst we can't offer you a solution this right now we can share a useful article on why we don't delete business reviews that might help to shine some light on this area of our platform: https://support.trustpilot.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000662708-Why-we-don-t-delete-business-profile-pages-from-Trustpilot

Trustpilot Team

 ### 39. Trustpilot: Another Review Site to Be Aware Of

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark A. | Senior Campaign Manager, Transportation/Trucking/Railroad, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Trustpilot provides a clear and concise method to replying to your customers as well as categorizing who and who hasn't been responded to.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

It's always nice to have a Private Reply option, like Reseller Ratings does, so that you can handle intense issues out of the eye of the public. But, additionally, reply with a friendly response publicly.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Capturing and resolving customer issues is what Trustpilot assists with. There are a lot of folks out there who use many different review sites, this is just another one that you need to understand your customers may be using and keep your account and responses up to date.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Mark,

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We love hearing that you're enjoying responding to your customers through the Trustpilot platform.

We'll be sure to pass along your feedback regarding another reply option to our team to look into. If you have any additional questions or feedback, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

 ### 40. If just one business doesn’t sign up with Trustpilot due to this review, I’ll consider it a win.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan W. | Co-Founder & Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

They have okay brand recognition and their platform works alright when they’re not constantly changing things for the worse, such as changing up review collection methods making it impossible for some businesses to collect reviews efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

I don’t even know where to start. They have deceptive sales tactics. They lack many major features that competitors offer at a lower cost. And they won’t allow you do get out of your annual contract unless you let them know within 30 days, and I missed it by a few days. Massive red flag for any software like this to lock you into a long term contract. Their competitors do not. It’s simply not worth using Trustpilot. If you’re reading this review, I highly recommend you avoid signing up with them at all costs.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None, they’ve created more problems than they’ve solved.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Evan,

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We'll definitely follow up with our Sales team and let them know of your comments to understand what happened and ensure it doesn't happen in the future.

We do ask that all customers cancel within their contract terms. If you ever have any questions about your contract or your account with us, your Customer Success Manager would be more than happy to help out.

 ### 41. Thinking of going with free plan? Think again.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deniz P. | Chief Marketing Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

As part of a quick growth strategy, Trustpilot has always let anyone write a review without adequately checking it first. It is a bold yet questionable move.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Trustpilot makes sure you feel compelled to buy a paid plan even though a free plan should be enough to claim your brand's profile. I am not talking about using advanced features or things that would make my life easier. No, I am referring to more basic features such as - oh, I don't know - collecting reviews from clients. Trustpilot removes reviews from your clients if you don't send the review request via their platform.

That means you have to disclose your clients' contact information to TrustPilot. For a company based in the EU, sharing such private information is a big NO-NO. (You see, Trustpilot, there is this thing called GDPR.)

And if your clients reach your Trustpilot profile in any other way, they are potentially flagged as "suspicious" or "fake." Out of 10 reviews we got from our clients, Trustpilot only kept 1-2. The rest was removed without proper investigation or explanation. The choice is clear: either you pay for the service or you are at their mercy.

So, they will not publish your customer reviews eight times out of ten. What then? Shall I ask my clients to write another review on another platform?
"Oops, your review was removed because we didn't pay Trustpilot. Sorry, dear customer. Would you please keep trusting us? And write again? Pretty please?"

Good joke.

**Recommendations to others considering Trustpilot:**

Unless you have extra cash to throw around, stay well away.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We hoped to show potential clients how our current clients feel about us. But Trustpilot made it clear that we have to pay them first otherwise we can't show how OUR clients feel about us.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Deniz,

Thank you for sharing this will us, we appreciate feedback in all it's forms!

We give everyone the opportunity to use our platform for free, this allows you to engage and respond to reviews, build on your TrustScore and also flag what you feel are false reviews about your business.

Whilst we are a free platform and open for everyone to use unpaid, we recognise that we offer exclusive features to our paying customers. These features focus mostly on marketing collateral for businesses, deeper platform insights, increased use of features such as Trustboxes and access to Customer Success Manager. They do not offer to ability to remove reviews of any kind. All reviews made to businesses (paid or on a free plan) are scanned by the same systems and have the same flagging processes, we have the same rules for both because we must maintain the integrity of our platform and we see this as a pivotal component of doing so.

We take GDPR very seriously at Trustpilot, you can find our more about our GDPR and data protection requirements for businesses here :https://support.trustpilot.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000306528-The-GDPR-and-data-protection-requirements-fo

If you (or one of your customers in this case), write a review and it doesn't appear online, the chances are that our software has detected a guideline breach and taken it offline. This automated system removes reviews if they do not meet our reviewing guidelines, this can sometimes be because of aggressive language, the sharing of personal information, multiple reviews posted by the same user to a business or a user's IP address being registered to multiple accounts. If a business flags a review for removal we have the same guidelines and give businesses other options to dispute reviews such as - not a genuine experience and defamatory claims. Understandably the removal of reviews can cause frustration, however we notify users via email when this has happened and we ask them to provide proof within 3 days of a review being flagged and/or removed. Providing this proof is something that your customers are responsible for. You as a business also have the opportunity to appeal these removals with our Content Integrity team.

You can find out more about reviews, guidelines, our data and transparency views here in our Transparency Report: https://uk.trustpilot.com/trust/transparency

We also understand that customers and reviewers sometimes move on from us and while we're sad to see you go we hope that you continue to use reviews to improve services and products of the businesses that you purchase from.

Thanks
Trustpilot Team

 ### 42. Bad treatment

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rehab M. | Advisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

I like it but they remove my review without reason

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

They remove my review because I am a Muslim freelance who lives in Egypt not allow us to attach our payment proof

**Recommendations to others considering Trustpilot:**

Use it but take care

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Their bad treat to me because of my religion annoys me, gaining no benefits from my reviews

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Rehab M

Thanks for taking the time to share this with us.

We remove reviews for a variety of reasons, in this instance it sounds like we asked you to provide some proof to verify your review made on our platform. We ask for proof via email and it is only not accepted when the proof doesn't fall within our accepted documentation list, which you can read through her: https://support.trustpilot.com/hc/en-us/articles/205994208-Why-do-we-ask-for-reviewer-documentation-

We understand that the removal of reviews and/or the not accepting 'proof' can be really frustrating for both our business and reviewers. However we have this guidelines and measures in place so that our platform remains a fair and trustworthy place for all.

If you would like to continue these conversations or appeal our decision we suggest using our support request form on our website: https://support.trustpilot.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

 ### 43. COMPANY SELLS FAKE REVIEWS

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 🌎 Cynthia Ⓥ Cherise M. | Vice President, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Nothing at all, this platform is harmful for society. Reviews should be authentic and real.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

I didn't even know we had reviews on Trustpilot for https://www.assuaged.com, but apparently, they were all deleted. This company has tried to get us as customers for over 4 years but we DON'T BUY REVIEWS.

**Recommendations to others considering Trustpilot:**

Avoid at all costs!

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Any reviews left about a business should be authentic and REAL, and all our reviews on Glassdoor ARE. I hope #TrustPilot goes out of business for such poor ethics allowing customers to pay for reviews that are FAKE.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Cynthia,

Thanks for leaving us a review. We definitely agree that reviews should be authentic and real, which is why anyone who has had a buying or service experience in the past 12 months can write a review, for free, as long as they have a Trustpilot user account, follow our Guidelines for Reviewers, and don’t have a conflict of interest with the business they’re reviewing.

Trustpilot's open to all and being an open platform also means giving both businesses and consumers the opportunity to flag a review if it contravenes our guidelines. Our Content Integrity Team checks each flagged review, and if they find that it breaks the rules, they take action.

As an independent review platform whose mission is to bring consumers and businesses together, we take a neutral stance towards reviews. For example, no business can pay to have reviews delayed or removed and everyone has to follow the same rules.

Our Content Integrity Team gives equal treatment to businesses that use Trustpilot for free and those that subscribe to our services. Our commitment to fairness and creating a level playing field provides the very foundation on which we operate and we’re passionate about keeping it that way.

Thanks,
The Trustpilot Team

 ### 44. Disgraceful service and completely useless for a small service business

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keely M. | Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Nothing now, they use to allow me to send manual invites from their website which looked good, but they have got rid of this for automatic reviews only

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Pretty much everything else

Expensive
Only really work for products sold online as it's all auto reviews
Not interested in keeping their customers happy
cannot downgrade mid-contract

**Recommendations to others considering Trustpilot:**

I do not recommend them at all. I find them unethical and only interested in getting you tied into a contract at a considerable cost. much better product on the market as little or no cost

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to collect reviews to enhance our website and give customer confidence

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Keely M,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, we really appreciate feedback in all it's forms.

On our quest to be the most trusted and transparent reviews platform we are continually improving our processes across the business.

Thousands of businesses use Trustpilot’s invitation methods to encourage customers to share their experiences openly on Trustpilot and in the spirit of creating a fair platform, in August 2020 we announced the removal of manual reviews. This allows a greater emphasis to be placed on businesses to use automated triggers making sure feedback is requested from all consumers in a consistent and fair way. Whilst we have removed the ability to copy and paste customer information to send reviews we have not removed the ability to bulk upload customer data for a limited period (90 days from first use).

Our platform is free for all to use - business or consumer. We do have paid packages that offer features such as in-depth analytics and marketing collateral for you website or social media platforms (and more). However the majority of our platform users are on free plans and find that this option works well for them. The option to upgrade your account is always available to users through their dashboard or enquiry forms on our website.

Whilst we understand your reasons for moving on from us Keely, we wanted to share some further context around the challenges you faced.

Thanks
Trustpilot Team

 ### 45. Terrible, Expensive, Poor customer service, no vendor controls

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

The integration to our Shopify store and the ability to highlight reviews

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

It is the most expensive review platform out there. They don't let you take to anyone in customer service. They don't let you have any control over hardly any of the processes, campaigns, emails. A customer who gave you a bad review can't easily re-review you after you have resolved their issue or processed a refund. Trustpilot customer service went from bad to worse.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They don't offer any solutions other than to, graduate to their most expensive service or go back to their training modules which tell you nothing. The only benefit was to get the Shopify Integration, but every other platform offers that service too.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We appreciate feedback in all it's forms!

We're happy to hear that you enjoy the Shopify integration, we think it's great too.

Whilst we are a free platform and open for everyone to use unpaid, we recognise that we offer exclusive features to our paying customers. These features focus mostly on marketing collateral for businesses, deeper platform insights, increased use of features such as Trustboxes and access to a Customer Success Manager.

Our customer service teams are split across Support and Content Integrity and are available to all via forms on our website. We sometimes experience delays due to high volume of requests but our teams try to come back to people as quickly as possible. We're constantly working to improve our response time and customer service processes. We're sorry that your experience wasn't a great one, but we hope to be able to improve it for others.

We love to see customers updating their reviews when an issue has been resolved. We have a simple edit function which allows reviewers to amend their original reviews and update their fellow reviewing community about their experience.

Thanks
Trustpilot Team

 ### 46. Nice Review Platform

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Customer Support can be better or else everything seems good for me.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of use made my new software visible on the internet which intern helped in generating more leads and helped in identifying the legit business on the internet.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

 ### 47. Very unethical company that leverages their SEO to make money using untransparent pricing scheme

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Their speed and promptness when they tried to get us to sign the contract

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

- Their non-transparent pricing. They make individual offers to companies for the same product. The evaluate the price based on the amount of traffic a website gets
- Their integrity team lack of ability to really judge what constitutes a valid review. Claiming to be transparent yet providing very little detail on how that team is working
- Their double standards, enforcing their T&C for one company but not for the other

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are paying Trustpilot to solve two problems:
- People with a negative experience are much more likely to post a review compared with people having a positive experience
- Trustpilot has good SEO and they entice people to write negative reviews

 ### 48. If you want to know about the products before buying - Trustpilot

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** akhil s. | Digital Marketing Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

I have used this recently and love to see the feedback from the customers who already used it. It is easy to use, has good graphics and colors. There are many categories for the products and nice to spend some time on them.

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

Right now don't have any dislikes because I am newly to judge, If I found any I will update my review.

**Recommendations to others considering Trustpilot:**

Not right now because I am new and find more features but love to add more services.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Please check the reviews before you buying anything else, I am also checked.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi Akhil,

We're glad we've had a good first impression with you! Please let us know any feedback you may have after you've spent some time with our platform. :)

 ### 49. THEY ARE AWFUL

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

There is anyting that I truly like about Trustpilot

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

They remove reviews that are genuine. They leave bogus reviews up. They leave reviews that "review" an individual and not the business. They are difficult to get them to see your point of view. They won't remove your business from their platform when requested. TRUSTPILOT are the most arrogant, condescending and rude organisation I have had the displeasure of interacting with. I can understand why they get soooooooooo many negative reviews. Their service is SH---!

**Recommendations to others considering Trustpilot:**

DON'T USE TRUST PILOT

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trustpilot do not solve any problems. They create the problem and do nothing to support the business on their platform.

**Official Response from Trustpilot Team:**

> Hi

Thanks for taking the time to share this with us.

We have automatic software on our website that filters reviews before they are published, so if a review is written and it doesn't appear online, the chances are that our software has detected a guideline breach and taken it offline. This automated system removes reviews if they do not meet our reviewing guidelines, this can sometimes be because of aggressive language, the sharing of personal information, multiple reviews posted by the same user to a business or a user's IP address being registered to multiple accounts. We also have manual flagging - meaning that a business or another user can also flag a review once published on the platform. If a business flags a review for removal we have the same guidelines and give businesses other options to dispute reviews such as - not a genuine experience and defamatory claims. Understandably the removal of reviews can cause frustration, however we notify users via email when this has happened and we ask you to provide proof within 3 days of a review being flagged and/or removed.

We don't delete business from our platform for a variety of reasons you can learn more about them here: https://support.trustpilot.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000662708-Why-we-don-t-delete-business-profile-pages-from-Trustpilot

We appreciate your feedback on our customer service and we're saddened to hear that you didn't have a great experience with us both on the platform and through our agents. We take feedback seriously and are constantly finding was to improve our customer service. We believe that reviews allow prospective and can lead to the improvement in service and quality of a product, this feedback loop is what we love best about reviewing. We know that this response doesn't offer you much by way of a solution however we hope that you continue to use reviews (on whatever platforms) to improve your service and products and continue to feed your own feedback loop.

Thanks
Team Trustpilot

 ### 50. A decent and trusted reviewing platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Toby M. | Senior Marketing Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Trustpilot?**

Easy to set up and manage the reviews. Reviews can be viewed in your website as well as TrustPilot site

**What do you dislike about Trustpilot?**

When we used the product (5 years ago), it doesn't have the function where you can upload images. The review is hosted on TrustPilot so the reviews shown on your website can't be indexed by Google so no SEO benefits.

**What problems is Trustpilot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To have a product reviewing platform on the website for customers to share feedbacks.
